Changing The Guard in London on Monday 27th May 2024. Nice and dry for a Bank Holiday, although quite blustery and extremeley busy.

Band of The Irish Guards marching up to St. James's Palace.
Band of The Irish Guards leading the Old Guard down to Buckingham Palace and meeting a Detachment of The Lifeguards heading up to Horse Guards.
Band of The Rifles leading the New Guard to Buckingham Palace.
Detachment of The Blues and Royals heading past Buckingham Palace.
Band of The Irish Guards leading the Old Guard back to Wellington Barracks.

Another fantastic video MrB!! The Band of the Irish Guards always has excellent Side Drummers! Quite enjoyed the Pianissimo Section when the Lifeguards passed! The marches played were, (Band of the Irish Guards 1) 15:02-Sons of the Brave 2) 18:14-Bond of Friendship (Band of the Rifles) 3) 22:09-Geordie 4) 24:41-Jellalabad (Band of the Irish Guards) 5) 28:46-Men of Harlech 6) 29:58-Guards Armoured Division (Band of the Rifles) 7) 31:00-The Lines of Torres Vedras 8) 32:09-Le Régiment de Sambre et Meuse 9) 34:23-The Prince Consort's Own

Hi Delvin. Would you believe I thought of you as soon as I heard the the Side drums in this and thought “ I bet Delvin will enjoy this” and lo, I see you’ve already seen it and commented your appreciation of same!

@vickyRoyalHistoryHello my Dear Vicky! Lovely to hear from you!! My apologies for not sending my electronic messenger pigeon! The Band was definitely very careful, they almost went silent! "The Man with the Whipcord Wrists!" It is then! From what I can see, I believe that's Musician Wyatt. It's Definitely not E. Smith as he was on Cymbals today. But, All the percussionists in the Band are Excellent!! They tend to play 'swappies' as you call it! I'll take a look at your other comment. I see you're quite busy still! Busy Bee, Buz buzz! All of the Library is in working order! And Sends many HUGGZZZZ! Stay safe my dear Dear Vicky much LUV!

MrB does it again! Invariably in the right place at the right time. I don’t know why the BBC doesn’t take lessons from you! London looks pretty packed, I hope there will be room for 2 more at the weekend🤞 The Band of the Irish Guards, and the Senior Drum Major, are very busy preparing and rehearsing for the forthcoming events yet they still deliver this superb display, even though they must be pretty whacked. As for the Band of the Rifles, I’m worn out just watching and listening! Many thanks for recording and sharing this video👍

Thank you for the kind comments, I'm glad you enjoy the videos. Must admit trying to keep up with the Rifles is a bit difficult, especially negotiating all the crowds at the same time. Still I enjoy it and I'm glad others do as well, not everyone is lucky enough to get to see these events live.

This video was taken on Bank Holiday Monday just gone. The beginning of the video was filmed at about 8.00am and the music parts between 10.40am and 11.40am.
