I can’t believe it, Cody has a grandmother he called Nano. I grew up with the best grandmother who I also called Nano. She was the matriarch of our family and we miss her so much. She passed away in 2009.

I get my boys a ornament every yr and write the yr on the ornament box. Then when they get older, and want them they can have them💕

My grandmother made baby quilts for her future greatgrand children before she past and quits for her children and grandchildren. All left with a personal note that makes me cry every time I read it

I have a quilt my grandmother made. When my father passed away three years ago, my Mother gave it to me. I’m the oldest grandchild on both sides. Currently, I have my parents tree and some of their ornaments.

my crocheted stocking that have my name and a Christmas scene in the crochet design. The stocking was so beautiful that all my cousins got jealous and my poor grandma had to make them for all 25 of them and all 7 kids and their spouses. lol 😂 My dads mom used to always put an orange in the toe of our stocking every year too!

I know what you mean Cody about Clancy not getting to meet your grandfather. Our grandchildren didn’t get to meet their great grandfather. I know how much he would have loved them. We have a few full size trees in our home and my favorite is the homemade ornament tree. My mom had saved items that my brother and I made in school I'm going to be 52 so that tells you how old some of them are. I have ornament from the kids when they were in school our youngest is in her third year of college. It has wooden painted ornament my father made late in his life. He has passed and they mean the world to me putting them up. We have all made ornament including my husband and mom. Everything from quilted, cross stitch or wire beaded ornament.

So don't know grandma much but grandma was big on recanning. I remember getting a tin can that felt heavy that she painted all in holly. Mind you great artist. Moral of story so excited I was getting coins and it was bolts nuts washers. I was so mad. I lived with her late teens and I regret for taking her for granted when died in 2002. I miss her so much

I’ve not been here in awhile. I guess the oldest thing I have is our home. It’s deeded to me. The old part of house is around 200 years old. But in the den is the wood fireplace that came out of the old house my Dad was born in March of 1925. It was very crudely made but special to our family. 🤶🏻💖🇺🇸🤶🏻

My bro in law died at 38 of cancer. He made me a turkey call out of the wing bones of a turkey he killed. He put it in a box and made a little poem that rhymed and had clues as to what it was and I had to guess what it was. I never did but when I opened it I was so proud of it. I wouldn't take anything for it because he gave it to me the year he died. God bless.

It wasn't something that she made, but every year as far back as I can remember my Momma would get us 3 children a box chocolate covered cherries 🍒. And died my 2 sisters kept it going for about 5 years to us it was very special to us. And I will never see a box of them that I don't think of my Momma.

Growing up in the depression 10 was considered transition from kid to Adult especially if you lived on a farm you were doing farm chores at 5 and every year you got more and more responsible chores by 12 or 13 you worked dawn till dusk to help feed the family

Being a Christian and my life is for my lord my savior . We celebrate Christmas but in my house we don’t do Santa clause . My kids open their gifts on Christmas Eve and we spend Christmas Day celebrating the lord . Even if they want to watch tv it has to be a Christian movie or program . We don’t confirm to society . We worship out lord .

Love your decorations, so special to have ornaments from childhood to display - my mom did this for us in our upper teens an then every year made or bought special ones for the grandkids and put the year on it. Great thing to give to my kids when they grew up and got their own place. Advent tags are awesome.
