The buff foundation color looks good - the other shade was drab in comparison. You are spot on with the shade ranges - they are confusing and bizarre. How odd.
Hi Susan! Hope you’re having a wonderful week so far! I’m glad you noticed that too! Somehow that first one just looked so dull and blah lol! Hope Clinique fixes their shade ranges. My mom swore by their makeup and only really wore that or the J.Cat Powder I always talk about that’s really affordable. It’s a great dupe to a lot of brand names. But yeah she only like Clinique and her skin was amazing so there must be something to it lol! Xo Btw....my Valentine’s Day video this Sunday has the hair shaping you requested! Hi Lauren. Thank you so much for watching. From my experience whether you blend it in with your fingers, brush, or sponge stippling it first is just a good way for you to give yourself more coverage (which is my personal preference) but I always go over it with a sponge and really work the product into skin and it pulls away any excess product). That method just works for me and I learned that from a pro artist and basically using that sponge after stippling it presses the product into the skin to blend. Then your natural oils will change the color and it eventually just starts to blend into the skin. Colors can vary obviously. Neither of those colors were my perfect match but keep in mind my lights are so bright in my studio and on my camera that it always appears lighter than what I see in person in natural daylight. Natural daylight tells all...too much sometimes lol! I will be repurchasing this once I can actually go in store and swatch myself on my skin. It's too hard right now with Covid restrictions and my stores. Hope you're having a wonderful day. ❤️

I heard one of the subscribers say Dillards is allowing you to swatch on your skin but I don't know one around me so I would have to search for that. But hopefully your local Ulta will let you because I feel like that's the only real way to tell right! Let me know how it goes for you and if you like it! I really love the formulation. I love this foundation but unfortunately bought one waaay too dark for me initially. I bought another that’s too light intentionally and I mix the two to customise the perfect colour for me. You could try to mix the stone with the buff colour? 😊 and you are 43?! No way! Looking fabulous 💜
Oh my goodness thank you so much! That’s very sweet!! The best way to match your color is to mix. I tried mixing those two colors I had together it they just didn’t get that right color but I do absolutely love that finish!! Yes shade names are very confusing! No logic there... like you I never had any work done on my face and am 45 y.o. so got quite a few lines and all foundations end up in my lines, it is what it is. WN16 buff is my shade and I’m a shade or two lighter than you and I’m a neutral with slight yellow undertone. Stone looked like a much better match on you at least on camera

I like warming the face with bronzer and finding a brighter shade. Still working on it lol! Glad I’m not alone on that crazy shade range lol! I love the longer videos you do and I the reasons are twofold 🙂... the first being I think you can really be thorough when you don’t feel rushed to meet a timeline 😀 and the second being that I really look forward to your tutorials- like a Sunday morning brunch w a friend but without having to get dressed 😂 although, I do end up spending more than a brunch bc I usually end up buying products off of your recommendations 😝 I’m still very much appreciating the ranking system and wear tests 🥰 I also rewatched an older video where your cousin helped by doing her own wear test and I loved that bc her skin was different and so it was nice to see her take on it 🙂 also, with Clinique, I used to only use that back in the 80s/90s (bc as you know, that’s what everyone used back then in sac lol) but even though my mom and serene still use a lot of Clinique products, I’ve completely come away fr them bc I haven’t found anything to excite me in the past 20 years. 🙂 there’s just so many high end brands now a days it’s hard to try it all lol (although I try lol 😂) my daughter and I have been super into k dramas and k beauty- maybe you could do a video on that? ☺️ k beauty is a whole diff makeup world that I recently got into - really shook up the way I do my makeup and surprised myself at how many of their techniques I thought I invented 20 years ago lol - sorry this got so long - have a fun week! 🙂🤗

Buff is TOO LIGHT. Not healthy looking at all. Look at the difference when looking g back at your face shade and the shade of your ears, neck, hands and hairline.

Se le nota que muy clara para ella. Ahorita yo estoy bronceada por el sol y aun así soy soy de dos a tres tonos más clara de piel que ella y uso el tono Buff.

I went back to this foundation,, and I love it!!!!! I use nude. It works really good in the heat. I also have friend with oily skin who also love this. I am able to get this up to a pretty full coverage. When I first friend it I wasn’t a big fan, but I guess my skin has changed. ♥️💕💖
I totally agree, their shade range makes no sense! Clinique was always too pink for my golden or neutral tone. I have countless foundation brands and this is so bizarre. I am also light/medium and tried the Stone 1st. Too dark. I just got Biscuit today. It still seems dark but I will try it tmrw before work. I do love this finish so I'll keep trying. We are the same shade in the Estee Lauder btw!

Omg Lynn...thank you for the update and I had a feeling but was hoping I was wrong. It’s so frustrating and I wish Clinique would fix their darn shade ranges. Almost thinking either going back to the buff and adding drink elephant b-bronzi drops very clean and adds more depth or going with the darker one like Stone and adding in a mixer which lighten it up. Either the NYX Green one or their white one which only alters color and doesn’t change the consistency! I will have to do a video on that! Usually if I mix a green mixer like the nyx one it lightens up a foundation and makes it more olive tone which I like but they have a new white one that will keep the same undertone but lighter. It. It’s just a hassle though but at least you can still use the foundation.

Hi Ingrid. In the past I used 5N which a natural undertone with Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush. CN28 appears to be a fair with cool undertone. Do you know if you're more like me neutral or more cool undertone? If you are to be safe I would go more neutral and if you are fair cool I would go 3 neutral looking at swatches and I always think neutral is safe if you don't know your undertone. Clinique is off on their undertones so that's why I asked. On Sephora they have the models that you can kind of compare yourself too as well so I'm attaching the link that takes you right to 3N go.magik.ly/ml/1md2p/ Always remember too sephora is amazing with returns and exchanges and you have 60days! I do believe that the number 3N and 2N would be the best option as I do not know very well which one would be more appropriate. Another base that I love is the Shiseido Synchro skin self-refreshing it’s so nice to my oily skin 🥰
