Happy memories of holidays of years gone by. We loved Northumberland & these documentaries are wonderful. Interesting & full of facts & detail. The filming & scenery is lovely - so good to see it again. Very many thanks.

I have been working my way through this series with great interest, and today we were inspired by this one to go to Howick Hall and Gardens for the first time. Thanks for the recommendation - it was great!

In case you weren't aware Jon, there is also The Wellington' column in Liverpool near St George's Hall which is taller in height than Nelson's Column in London.

Hi David, It was intended for his own use only in the beginning. He took it to London on his travels to parliament and thats where it caught on. He saw no need to market it. Twinings jumped on the bandwagon and did just that. However its not the real recipe its their version of the brew. The original recipe was lost in the fire at the Hall in 1920. The nearest version is made by "Pumphries" and sold exclusively at Howick Hall. Why dont you book a visit and I will give you a personal tour? It would be good to meet you and I am an official guide at Howick now when Im not filming.

Hope we can get up there but be later in the year . Do you do weekends? You know Joyce and I love your work and watch it over and over. You have had much to face and I applaud your resolve

Hi David, The Hall closes for the winter after the half term holiday. I think its the 5th November? So would have to be before that. I could do a weekend day as long as you gave me plenty of warning. Hopefully I will get to meet you both soon.
