We need a bill that states if a set of politician pass an unconstitutional law which is later struck down by the courts, those politicians that voted for the bill go to prison for a minimum of 20 years behind bars for acts of treason against the bill of rights.

Ava and Lesley, I just want to thank both of you for your commitment to fighting against anti-gun control measures in Colorado. I have shared all of your RU-vid channel videos and Rally for our Rights updates to family, friends, and our church security team so that everyone was up to date with current legislative movement and developments. I really appreciate you taking the time to inform the public. I had signed up to testify for the Senate public hearing and was amazed when Senator Gonzales decided to postpone HB24-1292 indefinitely effectively killing the bill. I credit both of you with getting me to be more engaged and, at least, encouraging me to ensure I informed others within my sphere of influence to participate in inundating our legislators with opposition correspondence to these anti-gun bills. This video was so important to inform the public that there are still several steps we can take to reach out to Governor Polis and recommend he vetoes these bills, as well as, steps we can take to navigate the passage of bills as they become law within the next year. An informed citizenry can affect great change, but an ignorant one can silently lose hard-fought freedoms and rights if the government is not kept in check by the people. You two are amazing and your commitment to safeguarding our 2nd Amendment Rights in Colorado is so appreciated! I look forward to hearing more about your IEC and determine if there is a role I can play in supporting your efforts.

What they'll do is pass the other less extreme anti-gun bills and then later come back and pass the AWB when they have a well established super majority. This is EXACTLY what they did in WA state.

SCOTUS has a conference to decide cert on 5/16. Three important 2A bans are under consideration including, Bevis, Bianci and Harrel. All three invovle assault weapons bans with some including mag bans. These can be granted cert or be relisted to the next conference. Relisting is not the end of the world by any measure but certainly it would be great if one or more of these are given cert. You can expect the conference outcome to be announced the first week of June. Of course this will have a major impact for Colorado efforts. It probably will not be until late 2025 before any other cases are decided at SCOTUS such as sensitive places. Desperation of those that wish to curtail or eliminate our 2A rights (JG) may increase but they will be legally contrained.

When did it become a sin to buy a gun and the seeds to feed it? To have a sin tax. That feels un American.

If your vehicle is locked your firearm is in a "locked container". Also, all of this can be traced back to the Department of Revenue. THAT is all you need to know. It's nothing but a government cash grab. Also, also, unless they start installing metal detectors in the entrances of college campuses any student who currently carries concealed should keep carrying concealed.

So this FFL bill is basically to shut down all firearm sales in Colorado. If you pair the Colorado FFL registration bill with the new ATF rule about anyone selling or buying firearms has to have an FFL. That equals everyone in Colorado having to spend exponential amounts of money just to buy of sell any firearms!! This control of our second amendment rights has gotten out of hand!!!! We all need to stand up and push back against this tyranny NOW!!!!

I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding the new gun laws currently on your desk awaiting your signature. As a constituent deeply invested in the safety and constitutional rights of the people of Colorado, I urge you to carefully consider the implications of these proposed laws in light of the rising crime rates and the ongoing challenges posed by illegal immigration in our country. It is disheartening to witness the disillusionment among individuals spanning generations, from Gen-Z to Baby Boomers, who feel increasingly marginalized and disenfranchised by the current state of affairs. The erosion of our ability to defend ourselves through the enactment of restrictive gun laws represents a significant overreach of governmental authority and a betrayal of the trust placed in our elected officials to uphold our constitutional rights. The right to carry a firearm in public for self-defense is deeply ingrained in our nation's history and is enshrined in the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution. No other constitutional right requires individuals to demonstrate a "special need" in order to exercise it. Your sheriff has the ability to just ignore it. He doesn't answer the legislature or the Governor. He answers to the constitution both state and federal and the people who elected him. That is it.

I looked at the new CCW (HB24-1174) training law..I did not see where the renewal period dropped from five to two years as you said ~54:00. Other than that, I listened to this whole session and am very impressed with the work you ladies and your teams have done. Ava, your wonderful mom is smiling and proud of you.

Out-of-stater here, planning a camping/hiking trip in the Colorado Rockies, with a question on your gun laws there. Federal courts have repeatedly struck down state gun laws limiting magazine capacities. I gather that the US Supreme Court has affirmed these federal court rulings in at least one case. As I recall, Colorado had a state law, possibly still on the books?, limiting magazine capacities to 15 rounds. So I assume that law is no longer valid, having been rendered null and void by federal court rulings. Is that correct? Thanks for any update on this.

In my state, which has Constitutional carry, if you wish to obtain an enhanced concealed carry license so you can carry in states with reciprocity, it's an 8 hour class with 100 rounds of live fire practice in order to get your certification to get the license. We don't have to have a license to carry concealed in the state if we are residents.

Regarding range time for training. I have trained at Dragonmans when I qualified for my CO guard license. That processed showed me that there is a burden there in that there's a cost to the student, the trainer, and tge range. In addition I can certainly see how the requirement would limit the ability for people to exercise their 2nd Amendment right because they'd be on a long waiting list just for the range time. I already had to wait a month fir my CO NRA sponsered training cert. class, then another month for my CCW from the Sherriff. Now add 1, 2, 3, 6 months waiting for range time. It amounts to several infringements on the 2nd Amendment and especially the poor.

Easiest counter to the tax is this: Since when has the Colorado government actually spent its tax revenue the way it said it would? It had a whole tax scheme that was intended to help improve the public schools not too long ago. It got spent on new administrators, not on improving the actual schools. They're playing you now, just as they played you then.

When i got my concealed permit awhile back (renewal is this year) I called the Weld County Sheriff and he told me that it does not matter where you take the class but you have to apply for the permit in your county that you reside in. I was upset about it because i was told at the time that Weld county only charged 25 bucks for their permit and Larimer was charging $157.50 because i think that was the legal max they could charge at the time.

The reason my range doesn't allow outside instructors is because our insurance policy doesn't cover people that are not employees of the company. Its not because we don't like outside instructors.

I live in a part of Colorado where we don't even lock doors. Keys left in cars and all. Never heard of a car being stolen either. I'm starting to be more careful though and lock things up. With the immigration BS, there are a lot of roving gangs looking for targets in rural areas that wouldn't expect it. I'd be shocked if someone had the balls to come poking around up here though😂

Regarding the firearms training. I have a CCW, but I am all for trying if (a) it's free to the student, (b) it allows the student to test out, (c) it's not burdensome to authorities or instructors, (d) it's paid for on a federal level so states with less money aren't burdened with having to pay for it.

When they implement the tax on guns and ammo, lets see a inspector general show us the money and how is being used!! They like to shadow these taxes!! If you own a gun, you are responsible for how you carry, and store it. That includes in your car. When will the go after the criminal?? They continue to go for the law abiding gun owner! Where is the bill to go after the cartels and criminals??? The bills to increase penalties for gun crimes? Where are those?? They will ruin small business as the did during covid! If they code credit cards for guns and ammo, they will then code everything we buy!! The criminal pays cash!! Track that!! Gun free zones are the target for the criminal and mentally ill to know what targets to hit! Like churches and schools!! Take away the police, you have taken away security from the public! Arm the citizens of the city to protect themselves!! Red and yellow flags will only make things worse!! Yet unconstitutional because of due process. How do we push for locking up the criminals? Increase the penalties for jail time?? Nowhere in this country is anybody pushing for more penalties and jail time!!! They think taking guns from the good guy will solve everything! Lesley and her story is interesting in how even a law abiding woman has a risk of getting red flagged for no reason by a x husband, using it against a non violent responsible gun ouner

In NM we have to shoot 25 rounds per type of gun (automatic and or non automatic) so if you qualify on both 50 rounds total. 15 rounds at 7 yards and 10 at 3 yards. We 15 hours of training, a lot of it is avoiding situations including the color code system of awareness, holster choice and weapon choice and what to do after a incident ( do not make a statement until you talk to a lawyer. It is regulated by dept of public safety and is the same throughout the state. I believe in constitutional carry but there are parts of the course that is really useful, especially what to do in the aftermath and how to avoid a situation. In NM the concealed carry license is free for vets and vets have 5 year license instead of 4. Personally I would like constitutional carry throughout the country and the NFA overturned and ATF disbanded, maybe someday.

I am a born and raised Colorado native. I loved being in CO growing up. 6 years ago u moved to FL. I hate to say it, I will never move back home. CO is so up its @$$ with its nee laws these days.

Regarding the sensitive spaces bill, churches are a HUGE target. I refuse to have my right to bear arms infringed when I'm in church. If the church decides they don't want me to carry, then I stay home or find another church. Poling places are also targets, are they going to have are officers at every poling place? Colorado Springs can barely man a normal shift let alone officersxat every poling place and on patrol.

If you were prior military or prior law enforcement ( in my case both) you didn't have to go through classes. How does this affect those people?

If you want a winnable lawsuit for the concealed carry requirements, Then nobody should get certified for those classes and make them unavailable. Let’s see how many instructors take a stand. Have a feeling that Ava and all the rest of them will capitalize on it.

the concealed carry bill requires each of 63 county sheriff to approve each instructor training in their county who is already paying a fee to a national agency usually the NRA---- must now pay a fee to EACH county sheriff that instructor want to tran a citizen who lives in that county ------ numbers 63x 50$ = $3,150 exta fee net result most instructors wil stop training statewide and only train in 1 or 2 counties ----meaaning fewer instuctorss harder to get a perittm- our sherrif office had no idea of this. currently the instrutor can taylor class to student ie a former peace officer will not need as many hour as a new come

More legislation that goes after law abiding citizens and a blatant refusal to address the core of the problem (their voter base, to be honest). The firearm storage bill is the most asinine of them all that passed. Putting blame on the owner of the vehicle because some shitbag decided to break into your vehicle is ridiculous. I don't personally store firearms in my vehicle but if I wanted to have a beer somewhere and I leave it in my truck and someone breaks into my vehicle my gun is stolen, how on Earth is it logical in any way that I'm even remotely at fault?
