I'm kinda glad this palette is so similar to the It's A Mood palette. I've really been wanting that palette but I didn't want so many shades, so I'm glad I will now have a more concise version of that palette with the Hocus Pocus one. Easier to store, cheaper, and no pressed glitters.

I get what you are saying I’m coming from an biased standpoint since I don’t like big palettes but when I saw it’s a mood I thought it deserved to be a 12 or 15 pan. Kinda mixed that they would release similar things so close together though especially for a collab that you want to stand on it’s own. For me the colour story is lovely I already have these shades so I won’t get either but that’s my two cents on how they planned it. Hope you enjoy the palette!!!

I was so sad to have missed Gather Round Sisters last year! Now I’ve ordered it and Witching Hour! Yay!! I know I’m in the minority, but I’m not a super fan of glitter. I really wish they’d do more ultra metallic and satin super shocks! But at least no pressed glitter or mattes with glitter in the new palette!

I’m a huge fan of glitter super shock shadows, but their satin SSS are bomb. Wattles is my favorite and only shadow I’ve ever panned and I think they’ve discontinued it lol

I agree. It's my favorite palette of all time. I wear it daily. I can't wait to do a video comparing the 2. It's going to be hard to not favor the OG. The shades are SUPER UNIQUE even for CP in the original...imo

I realized 3 hours after the launch I missed it and was shocked when I hopped on the site and was able to grab last year’s palette no problem. I’m super excited and I definitely still want it a year later! So excited to use it 🎃

I feel like it’s super odd that the super shocks are so similar to 3 of the shimmers in the palette, so I didn’t pick up any of them. I think a super sparkly black would have been cool for a super shock. I would have also loved a SSS in the palette. I keep hoping that they will replace the pressed glitters with SSS in future palettes.

I like the look of this one much more than last year's. Without the art, you would never know last year's was a HP palette. The colour story may not be the all tastes, but it's clearly a Sanderson inspired colour story.

the mirror is so cute! i will never buy "it's a mood" and this palette is so much more my style. the size, lack of glitters, the packaging 😍 now just to decide whether it's sonic bloom or hocus pocus i'll be going for. your reviews have been really helpful with my purchases! making sure i truly want what i want + making sure i won't have much overlap! easier to be an informed consumer because of you ^^ thank you so much!

I grabbed both the collections since I didn’t get everything I wanted last year. I am in shock that NEITHER of the collections sold out! As of now, it launched almost 6 hours ago and they’re still available. And here I was sure I wasn’t going to be able to get my hands on the one from last year.

The mirror and the candle are adorable, the purple and black lipsticks are good "witchy" colors, are the spider stamp is a cute nod to the scene where Sarah eats a spider. However, the rest of it just feels half-assed. I thought last year's collection was way better.

I have So Jaded, so I don't need this palette. But I'm glad they brought back the Hocus Pocus collection from last year. I think it fits the movie more. I got the purple super shock, one of the combos (the spider stamp, mirror and palette), the lip cremes (super excited they finally did a black lip - they haven't since I have been paying attention, anyways) and the purple glitter from last year (probably didn't need it but that packaging is adorable and the Sailor Moon purple glitter I have doesn't really register as purple). This is the most excited I have been about one of their collabs since Sailor Moon. I was super excited about the PPG one until I saw the shades. I agree with others re: it's a mood. I loked the colour story of It's a Mood mostly for those shades. This is overall cheaper and easier to use. When I saw the cat ears on the mirror, even my boyfriend was like "yeah, you need to get that". I don't a ColourPop mirror yet - I got the same heart shape one they sometimes use in lavender on Amazon for like $5 !and I love it. I'm glad this one will be a bit bigger, too. Overall super excited. I would have liked the candle but they're essentially charging $15 for it, which doesn't make the most sense for me, personally.

I was looking for this video for two days because I always like to see the shadows on you and hear your opinion before I buy. But, I missed out on last year's palette (and the re-releases) and wasn't going to miss out again so, I got on the CP website early and waited. I got both palettes and I'm so happy. Like you I'm a Hocus Pocus fan so even if the new palette isn't exactly my favorite I'll still be happy I bought it. Lol I’m at the beach when this launched but I still anxiously waited for clock to hit 1pm. 😅 I was very lucky to pick up some items I couldn’t afford last year and also got a back up of the Gather Round Sisters from last year. When I first saw the new palette I thought it was pretty but still preferred last year’s instead…but the closer it got to the release day the more I got excited about it and ended up purchasing my first ever full collection! 😅😁 I’m a fairly new to watching Hocus Pocus but both collections have gotten me ready and excited for the Fall and Halloween season!! I feel like people just complain no matter what. No one seems to be happy with anything. I got last year’s palette and I feel like that really fit the colors that are prominent in the movie. I like this year’s too and I ordered it. I like that it’s similar to It’s a Mood because I liked that palette but I didn’t want 30 shadows so I feel like I’m getting the best of that palette with this one. I’m a huge fan of Hocus Pocus so let’s be honest, I was going to get this anyway. Haha Great video as always!

I was so excited and surprised with how smooth everything went with this launch! Completely my purchase of the entire Coven Crew collection + Gather Round Sisters palette without a hitch! Used your code of course to snatch an incredible 10$ off my order 😍 Aaaaand then I went back, circled around the site for 40(!) minutes trying to decide if I truly wanted the Sarah lip duo, rewatched your video from last year and grabbed it along with an extra mirror and lippie for my friend - and another great discount with your code 😁🍂 I'm so nervous knowing the candle will ship separately now, whether I'll pay twice (well 3 times due to my second order) for customs. We have a service fee of about 25$ for each package (+ 25% of the order value as VAT/TAX) in Denmark so that will suck, when I didn't decide they ship the candle alone.

Was on the website at launch and of course as I'm in the queue the bailiff came to get us from our break from jury duty lol. Had to put my phone away. Was so happy to see that the things I wanted were still available hours later!

Thanks Amanda! I'm going to do a comparison video with the old vs new palette once I get it. You know CP, they take 3 weeks to ship...but I love the OG palette so much. It's a yr round staple for me. I couldn't resist the mirror either 😁🎃

Luckily for us Hocus Pocus stans, the 2 palettes are super different so they will make great companions!

I ordered last year's release, and had some buyers remorse. Should I go back and get the new release? After watching your review, I decided to go back and get It's a Mood instead. So thank you! I feel really good about my purchases.
