Its sort of lost technoilogy, not sure if modern radios are still supporting MOA. I'm sure they can still be manually programmed. RCCrawler.com is the comp crawling compendium. All details are out there.
Evil ! hope all is well , really cool watching ! .. Yup, need one ! Hey .., do you talk with Josh? and do you watch his live streams ? .. Lol .. take the bully out and make another vid .. U. Can. Do. It... ! change it up and try another set of tires .. I know I'll watch it lol ✌
I still drop in on Josh's live streams occasionally. I'm too busy to be too much of a fan boy, but I do pester him into answering my texts occasionally..lol I've been wanting to revive RC Car Cast lately. I may do it solo.
Awesome rig !! I wish that more companies , instead of developing now days 1.9 scaler trucks only , also had 2.2 shaftys and moa kits. I would like to ask how do you manage to have underdrive on rear axle? i guess a kind of a trimming? What transmitter are you using for the specific (more than capable)rig ?
It was more difficult in the old days, but you could basically trim back whatever channel you were mixing with throttle to dial it back. Newer Transmitters have MOA mixing built in. I'm using a DX4S here and in the MOA mix you can assign a trim switch to adjust throttle bias. This dials back the throttle % to the rear wheels. Pretty easy with this radio. I agree with you about companies making MOA comp rigs. I'm hoping its making as comeback after being all but destroyed by 1.9 scale trucks. Its seeing signs of life. I'm doing what I can to get it out there for people to see. PS Dune is one of my favorite movies.
@@EvolVillainRC the REAL DUNE movie from the 80s or the lame Sci-fi channel remake with the goofy CLOTH still suits designed by fricken jean paul gautier? 🤷😒
These perches are from back in the day, not sure who made them. Someone on RCC. Dluxfab makes them now as well and they have adjustable preload. The springs are Losi MiniT springs. Thanks for watching!
@@EvolVillainRC Thanks for the info. Been trying to track some down. You mentioned you got a great deal on the big bore shocks, one of mine are defective. Would you share where you got yours? Always look forward to your vids! Thanks.
@@gmummy Well I would reach out to Traxxas first and see if they will take care of it. I picked mine up off of Ebay from a seller who was selling them for 22 bucks a pair shipped. I decided im going to put these on my sport rig and I ordered some Dravtech 3.75" for the MOA.
I recieved my bully 2.2 today. NO tx instructions. Can I beg YOU as to what does what on the 4th function (on off on slide switch) near the front of the tx? I got the rest figured out. Thanks in advance!
Sorry I missed this man, I didn't buy the RTR so I have no idea what the functions are. My guess would be unused channel, or some sort of overdrive mode. the 4 funtions are usually Front Dig, Rear Dig, 4WD and a mix that allows you to under drive the rear axle allowing it to stick to rocks like a goat.
@@EvolVillainRC No biggie. I got it going & kept it a week. Y? NO challenge! It went EVERYWHERE! I have a course at my house. Its ruff for a scaler. I built it to be hard for my full blown modded capra. Capra will go from 1 end to finish in 25 seconds. The bully 2 went to the end, turned around & back to start in 30 seconds! I did make $$$ when I sold it. LOL!
I really want to build one like this but rear steer is a must for me. My kid's and I built a quarter acre course and compete with each other almost every weekend. I need to up my game because my daughter is getting too good lol. She's 6 and has beat me and her twelve year old brother a few times now. She made me teach her how to pick good line's off-road when she was four. She won't let me go shore fishing without her. I make my own roads across the lava fields, through river bed's and some rainforest action in a few places to find new spots here on the big island Hawaii. Fishing rig is a 22r with 20r head powered, 4-link'd samurai with full width fj80 axles 3" spacers on double beadlocked 40's. It does what I need it to. Gonna build a a new one soon but don't know what yet. Might let my kid's pick.
Beautiful. I would love to see RC4WD do a 1/24 version! Tired of seeing the SCX24 getting all the attention these days. We need more true 1/24 comp crawlers on the market.
Great rig. Really cool. I'm building a Bully II and would like to know if this could be done with a sensored brushless motor setup. I'm new to this form of crawling and I'd like to learn more. Problem, not sure where to look. Thanks
Thanks for posting! I just put together my kit. The included shocks included a bunch of spring options. Did you try those at all or just go with what you had?
Do a video showing all of your setup and I’ll try to help you. Idk if that radio has the capability to do MOA. If it’s a manual channel mixing scenario it maybe outside of my experience.
@@EvolVillainRC thank you for your reply. what radio are you using? Ihave been all over the forums. I want to get the overdrive setup on a switch. ill make a video. thank you
@EvolVillainRC It is impossible with the rugged. I am going to buy the dx5 pro as my dx4s will do front and rear dig as well as bias but 3 of my switches are broken. Thank you Evol
I think the point of portals is to gain extra clearence under the pumpkin on a shaft driven vehicle. This isnt shaft driven so that problem does not exist. I've never seen an MOA axle with portals.
Looks and runs great! I still have my xr10 after all these years, thinking of getting the Bully and your video has convinced me to buy one before it’s too late!
@Evol Villain RC what radio are you using to get the rear dig? I have a noble nb4 and I'm struggling to set it up unless I need a twin stick Ps : love the build! Made me get my first bully!! Thanks
I'm using a DX4S. It has native support for MOA. Makes it super easy! I have a Futaba 4PL that works as well, but it takes some programming to make it work.
@@EvolVillainRC ahh OK, I've managed to have it switchable between both motors and just front on ch2 via a mix but can't seem to get it to do ch3 which I have as rear and no ch2 in the mix 🤔 Ill have to have a look into it thanks
The DX4S has an MOA mix built in. you can assign underdrive/overdrive to any switch on the radio. works the same way as dig, but it just changes drive percentage instead of going full brake.
@@EvolVillainRChey thanks for the fast reply. Thats good to know! Getting back into crawling in the spring with one of these bullys. Used to run a berg rig but the fact that rc4wd is still making these makes it a no brainer to go with.
That’s funny, in my case it’s slightly different. I’ve been trying to acquire a complete rtr moa crawler like the bullyII rtr but they’re out of stock now and the guy that was buying my NOS Axial XR10 kit so I’m stuck.... for a while at least.
