An interesting new connector method for 18mm cabinets, drawer boxes and drawer fronts which was being demonstrated at the Felder in house show last Friday: ‘Peanut 1’ from Intelligent Fixings.

very interesting. looks like those fittigs that go into the end of the drawer side would need drilling on th eend . to do that on a cnc you would need to use a pod system and couldnt do it all in one operation on a nesting table

MelbourneAlan they are an alternative to the grey plastic face drilled ones. Could be done with a line boring machine. I guess you have to choose between face drilled only for convenience or edge drilling for a more discrete finish. The rep did say that the big grey fittings are available in a range of colours to match different melamines.

Hello there ,I was looking at the peanut 2 and s systems via you tube not in real life. Would you use the system for 'flat pack' furniture , for sending direct to a customer and so they can join together or is that asking too much? ( mallet may need to be provided to bang together :) )

Hi I suggest you look for Peter Millard’s recent much more detailed video on the peanut system on his 10 Minute Workshop channel. But yes I think it would work for flatpack assembly

Wow £126 for one cutter is this the normal price for a cnc cutter ?
@FuzzyScaredyCat
@FuzzyScaredyCat 2 года назад
£126 is Peanuts for a cutter for use on an industrial scale. If you've paid for a full sheet CNC like that, £126 is nothing.

So no need for edge boring machine like lockdowel.

Yer good luck programming your cnc to do that key cut, also I bet that but is expensive, get a side drilling cnc 🙈

RJS Carpenters and Decorators you think the precision required would be hard to program?

Tbh I think it will be fairly simple to program. Think the cutter will be expensive though.
