60 PPI out of the tap?? That is LOW!!! No wonder you got so many gallons at 0 PPI
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav Месяц назад
Yeah, I’m lucky to have such low TDS, but I have a lot of chlorine which just corrodes everything so I run carbon filters normally to help with that.

Wow I’m glad I watched this. I’m designing my set up now and was going to design it with this new bi pass system but after seeing this I’m pretty unimpressed with the quality and choices for fittings / cheap connections / small diameter hoses … I will def stick to my own custom plumbing

If you like being restricted by the government then this one is for you. 🤣 If you have the means and DIY know how it’s always best to make your own in my opinion.

Hi Keav, can you update us on how the bypass is working? Can I get the bypass and decide not to use it and pipe it if I don't like the use? FYI, adding a power washer to the set up. Thanks!
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav 3 дня назад
Bypass works great, but I’m not using it. I’m still using my old cr spotless since my wall setup already had a better bypass with no restriction. You could do your own and would have to plug up where they drilled in and remove the plug on the inlet side.

Great video. Did you save the other 600+ gallons run after the initial water bag fill? I'd hate to just waste that much DI water and cost. BTW, 1200 gallons of usable DI water is fantastic, as its only about 11.6 cents a gallon based on media cost. (not factoring in the unit cost)
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav Месяц назад
Unfortunately I only have the 500 gallon storage so the rest went into the woods so at least the trees will benefit from it. I rarely ever test beyond 600 gallons, but might have to get one more storage the next time I test a big DO system. If I had 300 tds water I would waste a lot less and spend less time testing.

Can you tell me what the formula is to get gallons per minute
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav Месяц назад
Gallon of water weighs 8.34 pounds. I usually use a quick online calculator by searching “pounds to gallons”, but you can take the weight of the water minus the tare weight of the bucket and divide by 8.34 and that will be your GPM if ran for exactly one minute.
@michaelpuente3352
@michaelpuente3352 19 дней назад
Can I put this after the pressure washer pump? Meaning use the pressure washer to push the water thru it instead of using a separate pump to push the water before the pressure washer
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav 19 дней назад
Has to be on the input side of the pressure washer. These are only rated for not much more than 150 PSI. Even if it could hold the pressure it would beat up the resin and move through so fast it wouldn't barely clean anything. Its recommended to stay below 80 PSI input pressure and 2.5 gpm with these to clean the best.

Hey Keav,love watching your channel 👍 can you offer advise i have this same system (no bypass) company in UK cyclone solutions advance, my water is high at 255ppm and the input isn’t the fastest but runs okay with the bigboi pro but i have only rinsed 3 cars off and the ppm coming out the spotless is 10ppm shows 11 on its own metre and 10 on calibrated hand held same as your using, please any idea whats wrong im lost 😞
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav 24 дня назад
Did it ever get to 0ppm and then get to 10 after the 3 rinses or was it always 10ppm? I see the Big Boi pro is about 9.5 Kiera per minute stock and the filters say they can handle 10 lists per minute. Did you change the nozzle to get more flow? It could be more than the filters can handle.
@MEMPHISFLASH3764
@MEMPHISFLASH3764 24 дня назад
@@CarsWithKeav hey Keav thanks for responding, no I only had 0.02 at the start, I used the white nozzle but now have the black but I’m confused about this spotless water how should it be used from a hosepipe only or pressure washer but the bigboi flow can be halved but I find it won’t shut off ! Iv watched endless RU-vid videos yours are brilliant but I’m still wondering how to use this system the resin isn’t cheap ,, as for obsessed garage he’s basically saying if you can’t afford the resin refill don’t buy it in the first place! Terrible person sorry.
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav 24 дня назад
@@MEMPHISFLASH3764 The one thing of resin is no matter how small or big your filter system is the amount of resin used to clean the water is the same. So the only thing you change with the filter system is how often you do refills and the flow rate of the water. Really doesn’t matter how you use the water as long as the flow of the water is slow enough for the resin to clean properly. 255 tds is in the middle of the range and considered normal here in the U.S. so a system like that should be able to clean a decent amount of water. Matt has a way with words that is for sure. His takes can be quite jolting to most. 🤣

So Keav, I've been considering the roll-around CR system for shoot, over 3 years now. Would you wager you'd get even more gallons of DI water with the RV mod. I could have swore that is what brought me to your channel a long time ago. Since I'm an apartment dweller I was gonna produce and store DI water in a tank inside the garage for dispensing when needed and I'd love to maximize the amount to make it worth it switching from distilled water.
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav Месяц назад
The RV mod will for sure get more gallons anytime you add resin you will extend life. I got rid of mine because I kept getting resin pieces lodged in my garden sprayer nozzle. No matter what I did they kept coming through. My best guess is it was getting by the slits in the tube. Now many others are not having this problem or they don’t know it’s happening. A pressure washer nozzle the resin is so small and pressure so much you wouldn’t know. Garden hose sprayer on shower the holes are so small they get clogged.

Keav, might've missed it, but do you recommend this product? I have an Active and have mounted a shelf and a Cox Reel. I have a hose bib in my garage, but it's kind of low to the floor. It does seem like using a bypass is a good idea, but am I better making my own bypass with all of that piping that everyone uses or simply buy this integrated unit? I'd rather not bring a plumber in. Thanks!
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav Месяц назад
I would recommend this only if you don’t mind your bypass flow to be restricted by the smaller diameter tubing and adapters they are using. I myself would prefer a bypass that is free flowing and not restrictive. For my setup it’s a no go because of that. Many don’t care as long as it’s enough to run their pressure washer and this would be perfect for them.

Damn. Here in Phoenix arizona the city water is around 750 to 800 ppm. That filter will only last about 100 gallons tops.
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav Месяц назад
That sucks! You need RO setups for that kind of TDS or large tanks of resin, but that would get very expensive refilling all the time.

@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav Месяц назад
Yeah, final rinse is all you need it for and it works well for filling foam cannons and doing chemical dilutions. Final rinse should be around 10 Gallons or less. Some also use DI for the foam cannon process the. Switch to Tap to rinse as DI water will foam better.
