Love your vids, easy to understand and quick to the point. I want to make this in the future if they ever bring back the Dragon Dance Mask (I'll use Kulu headpiece for the lock on for now since I use SnS and its hard to free aim with gyro)
I dont have the lunar event mask upgraded sadly, but im building an alternative version of this: Coral Pukei Helm Rathalos Mail or Deviljho Mail Azure Rath vambraces Azure Rath Coil Kulu legs Only Caviat other than the subspecies parts, is needing to roll for Crit eye 3 times, and Wex 1 (but considering the current event, im loaded on cyan driftstones atm so praying for 2 more crit eyes) You lose on 1 crit boost level, but you have a level of special boost to help compensate. The azure armor parts also only need G6 to drift smelt. :) (Djho Mail makes it so your crit % also becomes 100 instead of 95 once Latent power triggers, and that boost is pure crit and not just weakpoint crit, so there's an argument for this over Rathalos mail if ever. Either one works, just a matter of preference and whats available i think)
Thanks for sharing this man! Crit eye will be a pain to roll for but this a great alternative if you dont have dragon dance mask :) Interesting info about latent power tho. Not a fan of waiting out the timer to get benefits haha. I'd prefer more consistency of wex with rath mail
@@PauwerPlays My pleasure! ☺️ Especially with the current event, the Azure parts are very achievable currently so its the best time to farm the required materials. (Even pink raths for the driftstones) And after this event, Coral Pukei (and Djho if you want to try that route) will also be back and be more frequent, so it lines up well :D
@@PauwerPlaysI made a similar build, much prefer Latent Power because not only you get increased crit, but also increases the built up on SP Gauge *chefs kiss*
@PauwerPlays That is true. But if ya can add c.e in place for loosing 2 points from p rath with cyan stones. But I would ONLY SUB out pink Rath waist for Azure ONLY under the circumstance that the weapon I'm using has built in affinty. Barioth, kulu and odo
Assuming all pieces are g8 Firm foothold is a good trade off for focusnfor hammer and g.s Imo you don't even need the focus for etheir of them if you're confident enough with them weapons. I've got c.e5 c.b4 wex 2 haven't gotten 3 extra wexs. 😅 I am gonna meddle with blue rath waist and use that and sub out the pink Rath ( rath waist is .2 upgrades away from g8 kulu legs .1 away.) But... imo the ONLY reason to go past c.b4 is with like say barioth weapon. Soo I'm gonna slot crit eye. Also the pink Rath hats are GOLD for cyan stones. Good seeing ya finding time to make vids. Also did you scope the new MH WILDS vid? More coming on the 7th too.
I've been using crit boost 4 on my lightbowgun build and it feels awesome. My build at the moment: Dragon Dance Mask 4. Lumu Mail 4. Rath Soul Braces 2. Pukei Lagoon Coil 2. Rath Soul Greaves 2.
i start MHN around 4 weeks before, i testet most of the weapons, love the long sword and make some builds before i see your vids now :D i checked youtube with the question how good are dragon element weapons because all monsters with dragon weakness are also weak to another element... now i see your crit vid and ask myself how good is the elemental boost instead of the crit build? i didnt have the lunar mask but actually crit boost can melt !! :D i created builds like the following by myself example water elemental with driftstones weapon mizutsune (20% affinity) helm lagoon pukei (2 WEX +1CE) mail jyura (1element +1CE) vambraces jyura (2 element +1attack boost) coil pink rath (2CE +1AB) legs jagras (2element +1AB) in summary its lock on, water attack 5, critical eye 4, weakness exploit 2 and attack boost 3 (with my mew knowledge i would put the 3 points of AB into 3WEX or 3CB) if i get a build like your crit build i would build liek this helm lagoon pukei (2 WEX +1WEX) mail rathalos (2WEX +1CB) vambraces rath soul (2CB +1CB) coil rath heart (2CE +1CB) legs kulu (2CE +1CE) in summary 5CE 5CB 5WEX but i dont know about its worth going full crit and ignore the extra elemental dmg like above
My build will have the kul longsword and burst 5, crit 4, weakness exploit 2 and crit boost 4. that's 30% + 25% +30% crit with a .45crit boost on top of a 30% raw damage. Been consistent in trying to get this build and about to reach grade 10 to get the 30% on the weapon
@PauwerPlays True, but so far, it's gotten me to 9 star. Hopefully by 10 5 it'll be strong enough to get me to rank 10 with the new build until the new weapon come as I'm currently farming for the new season.
I actually have my own version G8 Coral Head 1 lockon 2 Wex (Add extra Wex) G8 Rath Chest 2 Wex G6 Rath Soul 2 CB G8 PinK Rath Waist 2 Crit Eye G8 Kulu Leggings 2 Crit Eye (add extra crit eye) either waist or leggings your call. Then for the other 3 remaining gem slots either you put elemental or burst. If not possible yet put some good skills with 1% affinity to make the total crit 95% Also I believe 1-2 points of crit boost is already enough for the build, because not everyone has the New Year Dragon Mask and Coral Pukei Event coming soon again they could take advantage of this to get the Coral headpiece Moreover, I beileve the tradeoff is better Coral vs New Year Mask. (Less Wex rng rolls and has lock on), additionally the crit boost 4 having the extra 2 points points from Mask only gives extra 10% crit dmg boost. It wouldn’t matter if you cant hit the weak spot properly Lastly for the ideal end game build, instead of putting WEX and Crit Eye. Put Elementals in each armor gem slots Elemental Atks (5 gems slots) Crit Eye 4 WEX 4 CB 2 Lock On 1
I have 10 Azure rathalos gems and I never build any armor or weapons from Azure. Guess I'll focus on the arm. Been focusing on Angry Pickle Lance build
don't think this is any good unless you go raw. i always use 5 ce 5 wex 5 ele. considering a maxed out wep is 3000 dmg, 500 extra ele is still almost 20% extra. and you still have no lock on which is like -10% for the missed shots at least. coral pukei helm, rath chest, kulu shoes and you're set for all builds and just swap out the 2 slots on 5* ele
I think in this current meta with driftstones available, you can totally make a viable raw build. Sorry i cant be much help. I dont really play lbg but i will be exploring hbg when it comes out :)
Another option maybe? 65% affinity start of hunt 95% midway through the hunt Wex 5, C. Boost 4, L Power 2, C. Eye 2, Heroics 1, lock on LNY helm Jho chest Azure arms B DB coil/waist Kulu legs + Wex 5 from driftstone
@@PauwerPlays yah, i guess changing it to the odogaron chest would give 2 more crit eye meaning wex 5 plus crit eye 4 affinity will be 80% while maintaining lock on
azure rath waist/cpukei helm is better imo, leaves you with only 3 crit boost but even in the clips he shows hitting weakpoints is incredibly unreliable without lock on, and special boost isnt a terrible consolation prize.
@@PauwerPlays yes sensei, still a long way for me to get all CB to 10.5 Ice (7.5, can 9.2 but waiting for kushala) Thunder 9.2 can 9.4 need 1 R8 zino plate) Fire 7.5 Dragon 7.5 (hoping they put 5 Jho HAT in the coming event)
1 thing you have wrong here is your not boosting by 40 percent your damage its only a 20 percent. Crit damage is already 125% by default. You are better off with a burst build then crit boost.
the simple way of looking at is that every time you crit, it gets a 145% damage multiplier. Burst with high affinity could work and would tie up with crit boost but you gotta be aggressive and make sure the buff doesnt fade
Actually Gold.... without crit eye your hitting flat out for 100% Crit eye brings that up for a modifier of .25 or 25%. So crit eye 4 is essential 45% ontop of standard %100 dmg attack. Soo 45% seems reasonable
Here's the thing, people: Pursuing these kinds of builds is kind of pointless unless you plan to take on the toughest 10-Star monsters solo, or you have a great deal of disposable income. You do not need these optimal sets to kill anything lower - you're far better off upgrading your gear. What's more, there's no reason to kill 10-Star monsters at all beyond somewhat better chances at an R6 drop and bragging rights at the moment. Besides, even if you succeed, better armor pieces will eventually come along, and then you have to do this all over again. Me? I plan to take driftmelds as they come and hope for the best. So far I managed to get a point of Thunder Attack onto my Tobi Kadachi waist, allowing me to replace Zinogre legs with Kulu-Ya-Ku's, but all I got was a roughly 2.5% damage boost from the two extra points of Critical Eye. And with the optimal elemental build - Coral Pukei/Rathalos/Azure Rathalos/Pink Rathian/Kulu-Ya-Ku each with the relevant Element Attack skills - you're getting about a 10% overall damage boost compared to the non-Driftmeld builds...enough to make a difference between success and failure against a 10-Star monster, but nothing more.
