Jay, you should look at getting your car corner balanced. It’ll help make it more neutral and predictable in corners. And you should be sitting in it as well.

Yes they are, VQs absolutely love boost... its California that wont let me do it. Smog laws here are very strict.

Question to Jay - I'm a superbike guy, not a car guy, so my bad if this is a dumb question. *_Jay, if you're doing regular track days, what's the reason for you not changing (upgraded) the brakes (callipers), surely that would be pretty important and in the first 5 or 10 things to upgrade???_*

His car is a nismo edition so it is already an upgrade from stock brakes almost ready for track from factory but a 6 piston brake upgrade wont hurt. Also he daily the car. Race pads will not work in the steet since they need to heat up so he wont have brakes.

Aren't the OEM brakes sufficient for the vehicle? I'm not sure which year or model his Nissan is, but I'm fairly certain he's got 4-piston 14" brakes in the front and 2 piston 13.8" brakes in the rear ... or something approximate to that.

Good to see Nizzie is getting some serious track upgrades! As a note though for those that aren't as car upgrade savy and look to use the same control arms on a 100% daily driver, the 'metal bushings' on the upper control arms are called heim joints and are generally considered for track use only. Not recommended for daily driving as they tend to be loud, will wear out faster and don't take shock loads (ie potholes) particularly well.

Eyeballing ride heights is ok until you've tested the set up, but it's important to get both the front and rear working with each other on a flat stiff plane without inducing oversteer, so be ready to adjust your coil overs again once you've felt what you have on track. You'll really benefit from having a few runs on track because with racing suspension you're getting into the realm of having so much sensitivity to ambient temperature, sunshine (yes that's its own thing, the air can be 70 degrees and the track can be 110 degrees because of the sun beating on it.) and the amount of rubber worked into the track that day, that you'll find minute adjustment will be necessary every time you show up to get the absolute fastest lap times you can. It's literally a never ending search for speed.

4:02 I have a scar on my top lip from using a similar combination to this. After successfully Doing 100s of Wheel Hub Bolt recalls on early 2000's model Toyota Land Cruiser, I got a little lazy with my wobbly joint and socket on the bolt head, while leaning in behind the disc, and paid the price. But, chicks dig scars, so it worked out in the end. P.S. Do you have proper single hex impact sockets? Probably a good investment if you don't want to round out your half inch drive stuff.

Spherical bearings are great, but I have one suggestion... get some rubber boots. Otherwise they can get chewed up rather quickly from dirt and crud from the road and the track. You can also pack them with grease to make maintenance a little easier since you're supposed to keep them "lubed'.

I don't know how the 370Z responds to caster changes, but if you run just a bit more caster you can reduce the static camber gain needed to reduce the edge wear on the tyres. Means you'll wear tyres more evenly and still have more corner grip, provided the rest of the suspension responds well and it doesn't make the car jumpy.

I'm a technician at a Nissan incase you run into any issues with your vehicle lmk.. Just a heads up their sub-fuel pump tend to literally crack in half around 15-30k miles, We've yet to figure out why, but when we warranty them out they never have the issue again.

I recognize this so much. When I removed the stock suspension from my track car, the first front corner took probably 2 hours, was a pain in the ass since I didnt want to remove the control arms because that would have made it more complicated. Then when I got it figured out, the other side took 15 minutes.
