Love that saying Steve , some ppl stuck on stupid permanently is a nice way to put it , nice work always with Molly keeping you with good company..👍✌️💪🙏😔😸💎🖖🤙
You brush it down and vacuum it out because soot acts as a insulator causing you heat transfer efficiency to decrease dramatically. You change the filter because it’s a filter. Oil flow has nothing to do with it. Your flow will remain the same, but your pump pressure will change. What do you wait for a nozzle to plug or a filter to be full of sludge before you change it? That’s like saying oh the nozzle is still spraying so no reason to change that. I’m amazed that you can tell by eye on a boiler that the smoke is at a trace and that you o2 and C0 and CO2 are correct. The shister is you for doing a half ass cleaning.
Steve, we all greatly appreciate your videos. So many companies talk about the shortage of tradesman and how it's only getting worse. Your videos in particular have helped train me. Please keep them coming... Question for you from a different video: Do you have anything against air admittance valves on drains? I noticed you didn't install one on a previous video where an elder lady had the kitchen sink vent too far away to be effective and the sink drained slowly.
Good vid, although as my old teacher would say many moons ago: "If I catch you using a single pipe wrench im going to use the other one to beat you with" lol
I would never tell you how to do your business, because I'm in the HVAC business. Most of these people telling you, that you didn't do this or didn't do that, are probably not in the HVAC business either. I leave you alone as far as telling you what I think, because I don't know HVAC, but I love watching your videos. Tell them (trolls), leave professional diagnosis, to the professionals!!
And Steve doesn’t need to be telling other techs how they should do their jobs! He needs to learn MYOB, and do his job well. Besides, the ‘other tech’ isn’t even in his territory, so why bitch and moan about what someone else is doing? No one is perfect, not even Steven!
To me when I was landscaper I took care of plants that some thought needed to be replaced, they were rose bushes stayed small for years until I came along and pruned them to help them breathe, they quadrupled in size and never had to be replaced. These days I am a sales person, now I don’t tell people to buy everything instead I do respect their decision and budget, heck over time I learned to pick up on certain ques when one is questionable. But over all I do not sell if they don’t need or want. Selling people what they don’t need or want will often make them go “I going somewhere else”, so I do respect how Steve operates since it better to care about what a customer needs and discuss rather than waste their money they didn’t agree to 😂. Just had to say my piece.
I enjoy the channel, but you can't count me as another one who doesn't understand why you wouldn't take 5 minutes to replace the filter. A good oil flow just indicates it's not reached 100% of it's life. It could be 85% done and still produce good oil flow. Replace the damn filter. 5 minutes!
love the rant at the end i hear ya it's T and M so the customer is paying why do it if it dont need it that bill was pretty high after all that work dont gouge the customers eyes out while your there and they will call you back if there is any problems but most likely because of your experience it wont be related to what you did at all love the videos and your work ethics
You would be a fool if you worried about what people thought of you, especially at this stage of your life!😂🤣😂 Thanks for the video! 🥃🥃🍺🍺🍺🍿🎯 Stay safe. Retired (werk'n)keyboard super tech. Wear your safety glasses!
He hates basements. I wish I had a basement, I have a 18" dirt crawl space with big spiders, webs and cave crickets. But I took it on when I had to. The PEX? It is the lazy tech`s choice, but they don`t charge any less for it. Not as long-lasting as copper and requires less skill, just some special equipment outlay up front.
If it doesn't mean fix don't fit fix it on stupid Next Level next video with Miss Molly and you Steve don't worry about those Foods their heads are up their ass anyway LOL oh another thing is to leave it to the experts that who know what they're doing
Well said rant. That's what makes you an honest person as well if it don't need it there's no reason to charge extra for something not needed. But oh boy if you would have cleaned the boiler and it didn't need it those same people would come back whining why'd you clean it if it didn't need it. Contradicting themselves. Keep up the good work haters will be haters.
Great job, Mr Lav. To all plumbers and Heating techs out there: What is your preference or standard on domestic coils that are no longer being used. Do Y'all leave them open ended, cap them, keep them filled? Twice in 21 years I've seen them cut, but not capped. I looped them and connected a prv with a backflow. My thought was to keep it pressurized in case the coil starts to leak. Just asking, I know there's no right answer.
at least you`re not a dust and adjust tech you do some prime work screw those complainers oh and I used to make it a practice to write down the drafts on the tag keeps the insurance adjuster`s off your butt I`m retired but I miss the work
Steve! Im glad you are using both teflon and pipe dope now! I used to just use pipe dope and had leaks on those joints a year later. Ever since using both, i havent had a single leak in years.
I hate the smell when i am working on one that's a real leaka with glycol. On related to that statement, My father has it in his boiler also because he has his garage floor and sidewalk done. Coolest thing ever, nothing like working on a car with a warm floor and can't beat when it snows he opens the sidewalk valve and it melts the snow and the water evaporates.
So I guess HVAC techs don't change the filters in their car when they change their oil? How long does it takes to check? Flow rate does not determine the filter... the pump will pump harder if clogged or slightly clogged putting undue stress in pump.
"Pull your head out of your ass!" HAHA! I agree. I come here to watch and learn. Obviously, Steve, you know 100% what you are doing. Another great video as always. Thanks!
Love the channel Steven! From all the facilities guys at the hospital. We get an education from every video, (and sometimes a laugh when you talk to the customer!)
Now that's a tee shirt. Some people are just stuck on stupid. I like how quickly you backed that guy down. He was about to give you shit and instead, you got free parts..
Steve I’ve got an old buderus with riello burner. I smell a diesel smell in my yard when it’s running, assuming it’s coming from the chimney. Is that normal? I’d appreciate your advice, awesome videos you have!
My House had a tank full of Rust. It gave trouble every time I got oil. I think I changed the filter every time, but it didn't do any good because My tank was so bad.
i would guess you have forgotten more about service than most commenters ever knew. seems like that gauge should be called a duodecator instead of a tridecator since it measures two things not three. but what do i know? not much!
Hello Steve, I wanted to comment on your rant about all the "professional" techs leaving the comments about what you should have done. I am 45 presently and started working for a company that only serviced oil burners when I was 17, the owner always preached to me that we fix what is necessary and check full operation at the end of the job. We NEVER sell or perform unnecessary repairs just because we are there, that is what separates someone that knows the equipment and one that just goes through the motions and is a greedy bastard. Keep up the great honest work, cheers from L.B.I.N.j.
@@mpgmech9243 you can, I like copper for supply and return on hot water baseboard, some guys use pex because it’s easier, less money but the look is not that great in my opinion
PEX is either NSF or not, and Oxygen barrier or not. Use oxygen barrier for systems with any iron parts. Doesn't matter otherwise. Use NSF for domestic water. Doesn't matter otherwise.
yes there are some who can not afford to live if they will not pay to have heat but maybe you should take run money to run out to them ??? for I pay the time it takes for them to drive out to me in the country I live in maybe they do not say this you say at the end of the video
Good old Steve good job...takes experience and years of service and not just these college book tell ya got follow the book or doing it wrong.....save yourself time and customer money if not needing done
Miss Molly says turn up the heat!!!!! Good rant. Just like I don't use a whistle stick to fill a underground tank. Never have used one. Stick it so you know about how much it will take, put my pipe in the fill pipe, nozzle in that and let it fill. You can hear it when it's almost full. We've been doing the job long enough to know how to get the work done.
@@yz250a I think the people who are being serviced are speaking out. We all know New England has been democrat. So, you do not hear the comments by these people who are speaking out? From the looks of the state of these living conditions it appears the help is appreciated. It's a shit show and we all are disgusted.
