I'm loving this video! We live in Erie Pa and try to visit South Bass Island yearly. Our hope is to share this unique place with our grown children. We stay at Port Clinton and take the ferry over next morning. We have also made an annual trek to the Keys, and this is as close as you can get along the great lake shore! Thanks for the video!
My mom married someone from put in bay, we used to visit every summer. Haven’t been back that way in years. Miss the days spent on the island before it becoming commercialized.
Fun fact, the island is so small that some officers travel by golf cart. There are actual cruisers as well, but you'll see officers on golf carts as well.
Agreed. It is expensive, but in terms of what you get, it really isn't that bad of a price. To visit a fun party island in Ohio is already hard to do (since we have two islands) but for the price, I think it is 98% worth it. Just make sure you plan a day trip and take Miller ferry with your vehicle. Golf cart is nice, but if you plan to see the entire island, bring the car.
