Because at high level play you fundamentally want to avoid playing as many bricks as possible. Dark Calling would be adding another brick to the deck. The deck is already forced to play more bricks than most, and truthfully HERO should be able to clear the opponents board without Bane.

@@DTimeYuGiOh I see your point but I see you added Raigeki this time around. I tried running Raigeki in past formats and it was more of a brick than Bane. What I kept running into was people would negate the destruction effect and I'd be left empty handed. However, if I use Bane, and if they negate the destruction effect, at least I've got an almost indestructible monster. This has been particularly handy when paired with Dark Angel. Similar principle to what you are trying to accomplish with Dread Master. On a side note, I'm happy you are using him. I feel a lot of people discount it because it can be a brick, but I've used it multiple times for its invincibility effect to preserve my field.

@@kocharjm But I can just drop Raigeki without needing to combo or any of that. And there's a chance I could draw the Dark Calling and no access to Gold in order to activate it. Also when it comes to board clearing, I don't like having monsters on the field during the main phase where certain monsters trigger under that condition like Spright Elf or KaleidoHeart spinning back the Bane. Just drop Raigeki and with no commitment and roll em from there.

Bane is not worth it especially since people run absolute zero it’s much better the bane. Also bane is not worth it with super poly running around
