I also want to say that a PERSON passed and that's affecting many who loved her on a personal level. Yes, she was a comedic star, but also a Mom, daughter, friend and loved.

If anyone reading this is worried about getting a colonoscopy. Please don’t! It’s nothing. Yeah there’s a day of prep that kind of sucks, but once it’s over and done with you will probably have a chuckle about the whole thing. The colonoscopy itself is also nothing. You don’t even know they are doing it. Quite frankly, I wish I hadn’t have even spent a second worrying about it, because that was a waste of time right there.

I DREADED the prep part, the taste of the liquid. But I did it because it was necessary and could save my life and any agony colon cancer had. * Plus, newer prep's are available and better. As a health care provider, it is very rare to die so fast from colon cancer unless it was ignored or misdiagnosed as it metastasized to the liver and other parts of the body. She had to have some symptoms as the disease progressed. Did her Scientology have anything to do with this??????? So sad as I loved her in Cheers.

Im in the health care profession too, and actually the recommendations for colonoscopy screening after age 50 was changed after 2015 from every 5 years to every 10 years. I know this because I had a serious ischemic colitis hospitalization and was required to follow up. When I returned to my GI in 2020, he blew me off and told me to come back in 2025. So docs need to do their job properly. I know I certainly do mine. If people over 50 are waiting 10 years for a basic colonoscopy screening that’s more than enough time for cancer to develop and mets.

The saddest thing of all is Kirsty likely ignored her symptoms for a long time After my grandmother finally addressed her symptoms and learned she had less than a year to live with a colostomy in 1968 she told me she hadn't felt well for around 5 years. It's often times due to a diet lacking fiber. Please take care so it doesn't happen to you. I've had polyps removed once at 69. Piece of cake.

Younger people are getting it at much higher rates now & dying from it. After Chadwick Boseman passed from it, I asked my dr to order a colonoscopy. He refused stating I was too young & didn’t have a family history. He even refused to order thé at home test kit that requires a prescription. It shouldn’t be up to a dr to determine if you want to get tested for something.

Kirstie was one of the most classy beauties ever of classic television and film. Those eyes are so hypnotic and captivating. Love her iconic legendary voice and comedic humour/ wit. It’s sad to know she was living in Clearwater because that means she knew she had cancer earlier and was doing auditing through Scientology to get rid of the cancer. Please please if you are a Scientologist do not wait. Believe what you choose but go to a doctor. Even if your OT8 because we all know there is nothing higher and only a doctor can get rid of your cancer. She didn’t have to die from this. And she should have gone to a doctor before the end. Just like Kelly Preston should have. But she didn’t. Because your basically told you can but you can’t. But you can. But…… auditing? It doesn’t work. Please be safe.

I had a roommate who was a Scientologist. They DO go to doctors, as a group, but they're all individuals and who knows what Kirstie thought, except those close to her. But yes, they ENCOURAGE seeing doctors. People love to lie about religions, they do it to all of them.

My family physician told me that colon cancer is the most treatable form of cancer when caught early enough. I had been putting off getting a colonoscopy for years for anxiety reasons and wanting to put my head in the sand, even though I am at risk through family history. I have a lot of symptoms and I’ve had two colonoscopies and three doctors had their hand in there… But I still have symptoms, and one said that I had “excess tissue”, but that he won’t give me a colostomy. He said to take Metamucil for a month and go to a bigger town farther away in the other direction ( than the other very large city I was in before) to see a specialist. I’m trusting in the great physician, the living God, who is Jesus Christ of Nazareth with His stripes, I am healed, and to the blood of the lamb I will make it through.

I watched an interview she did last year with Tucker, the day before she died. She looked fine, she was happy. I couldn't believe she died right after I saw that. She told a story about all the help she was providing for natural disasters, working along the Red Cross to deliver trucks of supplies. I had no idea she did that. She was friggin hilarious on Cheers. I still watch today and I am very upset Hulu cut her episodes. She was perhaps the only one who could so gracefully replace Shelley because she brought another dynamic and did it her own way. Condolences to all those who loved and knew her personally.

I remember sitting in the makeup chair right next to Kirstie's when they were applying her Vulcan ears for "Star Trek." I remember asking her name, and found out that she shared the same last name with my girlfriend at the time, kind of a rarity. I knew that this small role would eventually change her life, and it did.

I have Crohn’s disease And worry about pain cancer. I don’t know what they are putting in our food but one of my friends in his 30s just died from colon cancer. Too many people die of colon cancer

Look up glyphosate..,#1 cause of much of what ails us. Search on YTube…there are several well founded folks talking about this. Eat organic!

@@alexandrawhitelock6195 Jesus Christ that’s scary! I try to eat organic as much as possible. I need spinach and spring mix and kale constantly so I always buy those organic. But the red grapes I consume every single day or not organic, they are hard to find. And I can see the mass quantities of almonds and asparagus which apparently are high in glyphosates. 😬

Glyphosate/roundup is in most if our food…they spray it on thousands of crops to help they dry faster…wheat, oats, almonds, soybeans, etc etc. listen to Dr Stephanie Seneff (you tube) ..wrote Toxic Legacy. Feedlot cattle eat corn…loaded with this…it settles in the fat and bones. Cheerios are toxic… There ARE many causes if cancer…but Glyphosate is a huge one… Support your local health p food store if you have one, ask your chain market to carry organic. In VT it is easy to buy organic,,. Toxic lawn chemicals are also problematic. You can get your water tested…if toxic buy bottled…

Clear Water is practically owned by Scientology, makes sense why she would live there... I guess she was truly a suppressive person since cancer got to her and she was not truly Clear... at least they cant get anymore of her money... RIP Kirstie Alley, you were so talented and beautiful.

This is heartbreaking considering it probably could of been diagnosed early if she just would of gone and got a colonoscopy every 3 years ! Once we lost Farrah I go to my doctor and have one done every 5 years and now my doctor is saying every 3 years ! I’m so sorry this happened to Kirsty She will be missed greatly 😢

we have to buck the Insurance companies sometimes. Refused an MRI for me, but my Oncologist got one and found a HUGE blood clot. I got it healed and monitored regularly. Fight for any tests you think you need. Or the doctor, who can fight for you.
