The bond system needs to go away period. If you do something wrong you should have to pay the consequences, not pay and go hang out with your buddies or make a run for it. PO's are able to go to another agency with a $20,000 sign on bonus, transfer their time to the other agency, and after 1 year making close to $200,000, plus a lot of over time.

Well from what I understand the shooter was a passenger in a car standing in a bus stop. I say standing because if you're physically inside a vehicle that means you're standing not parked. The cop could have told the driver he would give him a summons for standing in a bus stop. Instead he went up to them and told the passenger get his hand out of his pocket. We have no idea if they were casing the business to make a robbery. But that cop should not have died over a vehicle standing in a bus stop. People stand their vehicles in bus stops all over NYC everyday including cops.

@@rodanone4895 - Take a better look at the car genius, there are numerous photos of the car, not hard to find them. The driver, after several commands, wouldn't roll down the window and the officer then proceeded to open the door to pull him out, and we know what happened after that.
