I find this situation so funny and strange. Because of weirdos like OnlyIceCoffee in Phil's audience, him getting 550 memberships donated by one guy to less than 50 unironic viewers is actually possible. And because he deep down knows this and he's so insecure about his viewers having these weird agendas for supporting him, he can't really say what he wants to say. Moments like this show how DarksydePhil really is a puppet on a string. And he's strung up by the system of his own design of how he conditioned his whales to support him.

Since these memberships ARE legit, people need to keep doing this. Most of his dents are accepting gifted subs. If his channel is flooded with gifted subs every month the debts will take whatever pops up. Eventually I’d guess more than half of his 500* “real” members will have inadvertently taken one of the cheap foreign memberships.

2:41 is literally perfect, if he just stayed quiet about all the member bombs and no money that he made off of them, nobody would really know or care. The only reason this is a "big deal" is because phil made it a big deal and talked about it constantly.
People do things specifically to fuck with DSP and every single time without fail he gives them an entire dedicated 30 minute segment in his prestream and yet to this day he wonders why they don't stop.
I love when people tell him to stop giving the trolls attention and he claims he already is or is trying, but then he feels the need to go into detail every time about what they're doing and how they ruined his life. Time stamps on DSP’s stream if you want to report his scams: 48:24 - DSP says he’s going to ignore foreign currency donations and memberships. 50:06 - DSP says he’s going to change his membership total from ~1,100 members to ~550 members because he’s not getting paid. When, in fact, DSP did get paid for those memberships.
I work on the front end at a grocery store. We have a regular customer who always comes in and rambles to our customer service people about whatever is bothering her that day. Most of the time it has to do with her bank "ignoring" her or how her debit card isn't working still. She reminds me so much of Phil it's uncanny. He also probably uses the motorized grocery scooters at stores as well
My favorite part of this was his whole, "No one is talking about this 'exploit' but I'm going to spread the word!", even though it's directly against his best interest to inform more people that this is a thing.
3:12 Phil is right here. His story IS a cautionary tale. But not in the way he thinks. If you're going to attempt to create content on this or ANY platform, take EVERYTHING Phil does and do the exact opposite. While that's not a guarantee of success, you'll have a much better chance of it than you will being like Phil. And, to prevent myself from spamming comments, as I've seen where this leads, I feel that Phil's solution is bannable. It just feels like some kind of a violation. He's basically threatening to ban people just for CONTRIBUTING in foreign currency. That smacks of racism and bias, and it's something I think YT needs to investigate.
Honestly the only reason Phil's way worked (in that he's still living in his house) is because he was fortunate enough to get in early and make a name for himself early. He's gotten his devoted audience through that. Anyone else like him would fail today, and Phil's support has been waning for a while because that factor has long since gone. All that's left is those who are in too deep

Argie here. Regional pricing is actually great, you get, in volume, a decent amount from region where you would actually make no business or lose it to piracy. Problem for us is when first worldlers who think its unfair to them (and the fact our money is worth less with the same education/jobs/hours by lottery of birth is a ok because they won it) use vpns causing a loss of sales in the territories that fund the games/products and it results in us getting priced out of our own regional stores. The price increses in Argentinian Steam made so many turn back to piracy because people descended on our store en masse

As a non-American I find really impresive the ability of dsp to think that other all people live like him. If he thinks one way, literally all the world should think like him. I don't think DSP will ever mention your channel or acknowledge that it exists, even if he's aware of it -- which he has to be. And here's why I say that... I haven't really explored too many detractor channels, but from what I've seen yours stands out. I haven't seen anyone else break DSP down the way you do. You go into detail and you're truthful and you're fair. That's why I keep coming back to your content, to be very honest. And, lot of the people who comment on your videos... it's not just me doing this... I mean, of course we loathe DSP and talk trash about him... but we often have a degree of empathy for him. We're just disgusted by his self-absorbsion and entitlement, right? Of course. But this community isn't pure hate. The short version is that engaging with your content would require DSP to do some real introspection and take personal responsibility. He won't, he can't do that. AND. If I've misrepresented other detractor content makers, my apologies to you. But what I said is *my* experience.

It's because other RU-vidr's subs/viewers are HAPPY WITH THE CONTENT from their preferred RU-vidr, and don't need to pull some VPN technique to avoid giving them money, they happily pay the RU-vidr, because they like what said RU-vidr provides. So therefore, no lawsuit of any kind will come about. But of course, Phil being Phil, doesn't provide a good enough product to warrant any normal person paying him money, so he ends up being the only person affected by it.
Also the idea that Dave could possibly find a bug and replicate it no problem is beyond belief. And his rant that he has for any site devs / grad students is hilarious. His insecurity of having a BUSINESS degree is showing.
My conspiracy theory is that Nikita will wait for big drops in memberships and will do this again. Only a small group is willing to spend money on something as useless as a DSP membership. Phil can’t prevent this and also gifted viewers cannot be returned, his best strategy to s to remove the members goal and focus on the tips goal
