Good idea, but maybe that “high voltage” sticker is on it for a legitimate reason? I don’t see it as being anything more than a battery powered GPS tracker on a pneumatic dart, which certainly doesn’t seem “high voltage” to me. No worries. 99% of police departments either can’t afford this, or don’t need it often enough to justify the cost, and that’s before factoring in the defunding nonsense.

@danburch9989
@danburch9989 7 лет назад
I would think the inventor could make them reusable but chose not to so he can increase the cost to the taxpayer for additional carts. They aren't activated until fired. Seems like a simple switch could deactivate them so they can be reset and reloaded for future firings.
@ebayisajoke6599
@ebayisajoke6599 7 лет назад
Im sure anyone could open them up and reset them. they wouldn't be reusable if they fall on to the street and get mangled. I also assume they work off the 4G network like a regular tracking device does. The monthly or yearly costs would be more then 5k actually. Not cost effective for the department unless they want to impress the mayor or news stations for some positive publicity that is.

Sure. You're all let's let outside forces in the cloud supervise everything we have. Then we'll laugh in your pikachu-surprised face when you figure out that nothing you own really does what you want when you want it anymore. When your microwave tells your toaster the reason your refrigerator is not meeting "emission standards" is because you have found a way to heat your room above the 62.5F permitted by law. Your TV overhears the conversation and sends it to Samsung. Moments later your PS6 logs out of the playstation network. You have a six weeks account suspension. Then you notice your phone is also suspended. So are your car and all the lamps in your house. In fact nothing works anymore. The next morning you try to take a bus to work, but you tap your card and it tells you "insufficient funds". That's when you get nervous, so you walk two hours to the nearest branch of your bank. It is telepresence only, but the lady on the screen tells you, you have been automatically fined $20,000. Your balance is now -14,545.39. Your automatic final check from your employer also got wiped out by the fine, meaning you were also fired for cause. It turns out your employer does not employ people who are destroying the planet. That's the future you're asking for.

a smarter idea would have been to put a localized EMP into the device that sends a signal out in a 8 foot radius from the point of impact with a remote with 2 buttons. once the car gets to open roads or fields with no traffic, press the secondary button that activates the EMP
