@@Zuczid Came to say this same thing. Effect of Hydrogeddon activates in substep 7 of the damage step(1 to 1 example being Flamvell Firedog, but notably all the recruiters like Mystic Tomato also activate and resolve in substep 7) and Royal Oppression cannot be activated in the damage step.

The best way to break dinos is using miracle Jurassic egg as a beater with inverse universe that just can't be banished, which is a lot of removal in this format
If you have mst in hand and they have royal oppression up you don't have to immediately mst, you can just keep specialing until they activate oppression and then chain mst to kill it, that way they are forced to spend an extra 800 lp
I BELIEVE whenever a card gains an unnamed counter, its effects only work with the unnamed counters, so the A-Counters SHOULD not count for the Egg. I could be wrong tho
