Pro tip: wait a month into wipe when most people have level 2+ traders unlocked. Then kill them and take their gear and do all the easy quests with no static 😇
Another cheap upgrade for most AK type rifles is the WASR handguard. It costs around 4k roubles and is a nice alternative to the regular handguards. Also, wood is good
If you can find a tri-rail mount for the Mosin you can put any sight you want on it. I’m running an infantry mosin with an AKM suppressor on it and the 4x that jaeger sells at level 1 and it works great!
My gun of choice for the first few days of this wipe was a 153 or Sigas off scavs with buckshot. I think the spread is sort of bad on the scav guns but it does so much damage that it will still scare anyone away who a little out of range.
74-U is SUPER viable from LL1 traders now that recoil has been buffed. That gun has carried me through early game in many wipes and it's now feeling better than ever. A lot of people will overlook them too, so if you die you have a good chance of getting it back in Insurance. I am only level 5 but have already managed to build a nice stash of PRS, T and even some BP ammo.

The 366 AK has been fantastic. EKO ammo sold by lvl 1 jaeger performs very similarly to 762 PS aside from recoil. It's arguably better this early in wipe thanks to the higher flesh damage and good frag chance as well.
You also can buy an ADAR without any Parts on it from Skier Lvl 1 for ~7k. If you loot a bad one from a Scav you can disassemble everything and put all the Parts on the new one.
I really love the changes they’ve made, the devs actually listen to the gamers. People start using bp and A1 so quickly, this change has made early wipe much more fun
The PPSH has saved my ass a couple of times. A guy tried jumping me on interchange, I turned around, and just dumped ammo into him. I was scared shitless but man, at that point, I knew the PPSH was reliable lol
i would give a massive tip for newer players, when you see a laser and a flashlight seperate and put them both on your gun, there is no way to choose one or the other to turn on. you can choose with a flashlight and laser combo however, and there is 1 available at traders ll1 and that is the GTL-21 from mechanic. THIS IS THE BEST RAIL ATTACHMENT IMO AT LEVEL 1 TRADERS. laser and flashlight at 16k.
turn off and then remove your flashlight, now turn on your laser, and reattach the flashlight which should still be turned off. Now you can toggle between laser and flashlight consistently with a single button press.
My best build.... M1911 fully modded unsuppressed... Cuz AMURICAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Honnestly, ive play this pistol, now lvl 3 on it. Love it so much. Took out 19 PMC with it so far, but now it start to be a bit light since chads and farmers reach class 4 armor etc... Adar and vepr in 366 start to grow in me.. But its hard. Looted a 545SAG. Damn i miss this gun. Did a 5 raids strike with it. Super accurate. Super easy to mod (put a visor and period), super recoil. Definitely a go to compare to adar i would say. Cuz it got ak sound and ppl rush it less than M4 sound meaning pvp fight for big chads XD Also made a 3 player squad kill with it, topping at 5PMC in a raid with it... It was dope. Sadly... Took a head eye from sniper scav getting out of dorm, and it never came back. Rip little angel.
So far, been scared to use my AUG... it looks good in DMR style, with auto available at short range... maybe take the M4 spot for me... And combined with my soon to come baby scar :p

guys just for a little more help if you get jaeger lvl1 you will get immediate access to TCW SP 308 capable of 2 shoting to the chest through lvl 4 with an added recoil reduction, it does however suffer against lvl5 and 6 obv (it does have the lowest dmg if the 308 rounds but its still above 60dmg i think so it 2 hits). but its probably the best sleeper round you will have acess to besides eko rounds also from jaeger. the only problem is procuring 308. guns early but there is usually a hunter or fal you can use on singlefire being sold by fence which can be used well with minimal recoil.
its been a meme between me and my friends all wipe to run aks-74us exactly like that. I found one on a player on day 1 exactly like the one at 5:08 except it had a pk-06 and the flashlight was mounted on the side. I has a lot of recoil so dont be expecting to use it at any range other than close. I have shot a lot of chalk outlines with that thing.
ive been having ALOT of fun running the aks-74u. any ergo or recoil mods i find i make sure to bring home, just a couple mods and suddenly you have a rifle that can put multiple shots on target at 50-75m for less that 100k ruebals. folding stock and a decent bag and now i can grab other kitted guns and store my primary gun in my bag since it only takes up 2x3 when folded. and its as you say, 5.45x39 ammo is abundant in tarkov rn. one of my recent runs i spawned near ruaf, ran to that 2 story house past the broken wall, and found 3 big boxes of 545x39. the ones with 37 pen. its so good early on. sometimes the fence even sells suppressors for it, which is even nicer. aks-74u is *chefs kiss* delicious

Budget build is ump, let's be honest here. 50k. Throw on a foregrip that cost like 9k, got a near laser beam weapon that shoots decent ammo at only 1$ a bullet. Don't get much better than that. Wanna make it even more of a laser spend another 50k to get the silencer.
Yep UMP blows everything else out of the water until practically LL4. It’s one of the few guns that actually feels controllable with our noodle-arm PMCs. The ammo chunks. And when when FMJ starts to get weaker at higher levels, you get Hydra-Shock which is insane leg meta ammo. It’s actually depressing how good the UMP is because it makes so many other guns feel like trash.
@@blocksource4192 yes, via the Peacekeeper barter. Just buy the knives from Fence. Sometimes the bayonet knives are sold out, so go into raids with no melee weapon and stick scav bayonets in your melee slot.
Imo the best gun you can get at this point is an sks with 20 rounders a pso and ps ammo or bp if you can find it. Also honorable mention being the SVD if you can find the mags for it, I bought one off fence and it's served me very well, even at only 55 durability. PU mosin is also a great gun if you find the batteries
owned this game 2 years but started playing about 3 weeks ago every couple days. just lost tier 6 armor and 300 rounds of BT and my neato 95 round drums at labs w the boys at level 11 and all level 1 traders.. sigh. playing without quests is more fun and challenging just kill dudes and take their stuff. hackers always slowing the process down though
Still not happy that M1a was banned. I would understand making it a late game purchase but making a weapon only available by farming in an unforgivable game like this doesn't make good comfort picks.
It’s crazy how strong simple 545x39 ps is so strong now. But the fmj and prs have been putting in work! Funnily enough I also understand the evolution of a mosin man now haha. It’s the most accurate and low recoil weapon in game where iron sights is concerned and behaves like in every other shooter.

I just farm PMCs at dorms with the ppsh & 71 round mags and take their builds. Killed a lvl 37 and lvl 41 duo today solo. They don’t know how to react when you sit behind the door on dorms roof and unload 71 rounds in 3 seconds.
Running reserve early wipe you can find alot of PS, BP, BT and even some BS rounds for the 5.45 guns which is really helpful for taking down some slightly better geared people just thought id let people know. PS: check the 120 boxes of 5.45 ammo they tend to be BP BT and BS rounds.
I've been really enjoying the vpo hunter with the pso 4x scope, it can do a lot of damage and take down some Chad's relatively easily. I run it on shoreline and woods and get out with some pretty meta mdr's m4's and rpk's pretty often
When running that set up on Woods , do you have an area you like to go to? Its my weapon of choice but man I am struggling staying alive. I do like to play on woods often.
@Spoolin SVT honestly on woods I like sitting on the edges of sawmill and the military camp, I also like to run through the abandoned village, theres a lot of good rare item spawns there. This late into wipe though I've been trying to learn reserve.
Easy to find PS ammo off scavs or just around so it's worth using a fresh SKS if you do, if you don't find PS though I would recommend against the sks as the ammo is really what makes it so strong.
Just killed one with the exact same aks-74u build in this video and was so buffled because he was low level and I thought "WTF what madman would use an aks 74u voluntarily without punisher? Do yourself a favor and don´t believe in every youtube video you see. Aks 74u is absolute garbage even with best in slot mod. Just leave it. Could be a coincidence but still.... just pass on that trash gun it´s never worth it
@@blocksource4192 It´s garbage. Always has been always will be. Anybody playing that thing for real beside the punisher quest is an idiot and puts himself at a disadvantage on purpose. Even with Best in slot mods it looks good on paper with like ~45 recoil but still sucks
man the biggest thing holding back this game is how much shopping you have to do in between lives it just sucks the game outta me when i die and realize i have like 10 mins of buying and building ahead
Hey Jdog been playing mw2 lately and coming back to tarkov this wipe I just realized how greatly exaggerated the first 3-4 shots from the m4 are for recoil. I mean they are basically up at the ceiling lights before it levels back down. How do you deal with this?
Many player carried by secure container seriously. I play with standard edition Mann it's was fkg hell. 1. Zero drop heal item from other player with EOD As long you have EOD mostly u play ez mode
My biggest problem aren't the loadouts, it's the Scavs shooting you before you even spotted them. Whatever gear you have, it's lost if it's any good, even when insured. Other PMC's or hungry player Scavs will happily swap what they have with your good gear. My current way to deal with this is using repaired gear from your own Scav runs without any backpack on. In the meantime, mod the weapons you keep in your inventory until good times come xD
