Ricky can sang his ass off wow pay close attention 2 him this guy really delivers hes a leader and definetly has an ear 4 this music business Hats off 2 him hands down
Ricky made his mark! The posion album didn't sale 4 million copies for nothing. When your in a group and your not creating the songs, the writer of the songs pick the singer to sing lead. Not the group!
Eric Johnson x 'Slick' blew me away on the POISON album. I was like why have they been hiding this guy. His range is amazing. Those tracks 'I thought it was me' and 'let me know something' he shined
Lorna Christian Agreed, Ricky is the clean up man and on the N.E. Heartbreak he sings lots of parts and steals the spotlight in "Still in Love." His voice blends very well with Ralph's but not Johnny's. And Ralph's voice blends well with both Ricky and Johnny's voices. It's weird when Bobby sings with them because Ralph's voice blends well with his also....e.g. " Every Little Step" many people don't realize Ralph song on that song with Bobby Brown. He should have gotten a Grammy as well.
I like Johnny, but I disagree with his initial assessment of New Edition. He said that New Edition was known for their stepping, but he later realized that there was more to them than just that. Although that's one of the things they were known for, that was far from the only thing. And I am pretty sure that plenty of New Edition fans would attest to that. You can't sustain a 40 year career in this business being known for just one thing. But, I am sure Johnny didn't mean any harm.
True Story Before 5 Of Kind(A.K.A.) Troop Got Our Deal With Atlantic Rec. We Were Doing Talent Shows Singing N.E. Songs I Use To Do All Of Rick's Parts So Nobody Couldn't Tell Me That I Wasn't Ricky Bell...Yep...Yep...Fam Fa'Life One Love Fa'Sho...
Ricky has a nice voice. He Could have used some vocal training to enhanced his voice. NE could have used him rather than Ralph as lead falsetto to many NE songs. I Remember him on the A Hall Show where he tried to hold a note for a long time. He held that note, but it was slightly off key. In the music world, you gotta strive for perfection.
