I need an ATV for farm use, forestry. 10 or 20 miles of range would be more than enough

I love the ride ATVs and I have a Prius... I love the environment and outdoors, and that might be why I love riding ATVs. Although I'm convinced the Prius is good for the environment, admittedly I own one mostly because it is relatively cheap comfortable and very reliable, all things I would also like out of an ATV.

I bought one and it goes 45mph and gets 75miles per charge...You reviewed the entry model. There are 3 models. I freaking love mine. I put Duro street tires and can drive all over the city with it.... here in Venezuela, cops in US won't let you take in on the street, but it is way cool cruising silent around town.

65 miles is a lot for an ATV, extremely rarely people ride more than that, I have a 2006 and only one time I did ride more than 70 miles in a single day The 35 miles an hour speed is ok with me because I like to have time to see along what is along the trail and not leave a cloud of dust behind I do not even wear an helmet anyways because I ride on low gear 90% of the time I like to know the towing capacity because I haul my firewood sand etc, and I plow snow also Nice machine, and nice concept

For a sport atv it works. But you need racks to do work, and the only time I ever owned a sport atv, I kept wishing that I had gotten the sport utility so I could use it for something other than weekend fun rides.

Just like the Electric Gravely and Ego zero turn mower, I would like to see an electric quad were you can remove the batteries so you can carry extra batteries to extend your run times or distance.

Sounds good for a starter atv for a son or wife. Especially if you are just hanging out at the cabin, or for a camping trip. Price tag is a little expensive but it's fairly new tech and a long term review for reliability would be great. Keep up the good reviews!
@NavigateOffroad
@NavigateOffroad 5 лет назад
Thanks for the compliment! Good point on using it as a starter type machine. It might make a great option for the younger ones as you know they can't go 60 mpg down the trail.

This electric ATV sounds great, not for environmentally friendliness, that’s a joke, the electricity comes from somewhere with a high carbon footprint. I’d use it for scouting/hunting, no noise from the ATV or Gasoline smell! Where I hunt the deer avoid ATVs and a ATV trails, the presence of ATVs means humans to them. Yes, the deer are that smart where I hunt (they even look up for tree stands when they suspect something). The ability to access hunting opportunities Quietly is worth to limits of this ATV!
@NavigateOffroad

Yea I think it would be an interesting concept for hunting. Where do you hunt?

@danielrivers1975

This quad Would be great for where I hunt, the deer are smarter than most of the hunters. I personally know several hunters whom ride their quads to their hunting spots and have never gotten a deer. One in particular is a State police officer (he really doesn’t have time to walk to his stand, he has to get to work on time everyday). He’s never shot a deer (that I know off) where I hunt, but he’s helped me get some of mine out.

I think the electric ATV is great. It doesn't meet my needs with its limits on speed and range but it's probably good for lots of people. I love the tailgate but I wouldn't even consider buying one at that price point. Too bad they couldn't build a ramp that doesn't replace the tailgate but simply attaches to it. I'm surprised that automakers haven't come up with something like that already.
@NavigateOffroad
@NavigateOffroad 5 лет назад
Thanks for the input EastCoastATV. I agree that it probably meets a lot of people's needs, especially for the average "around the property or town" concept. It's not yet enough for me either, but I'm still super excited about making it to this point. It's a big step in the electric ATV direction As for the tailgate, they are definitely up there in price, but do come with a hefty price tag. If I was going to go get a new truck, I would consider it. I'm not willing to spend the money right now on my old payed off truck though.
@rustyreese4006
@rustyreese4006 3 года назад
Just get your buddy with the welding equipment some metal and a case of beer, and have him make you one. The one in the video was fancy and all that, but you can build your own tailgate with attachments cheaper. It might not look like a normal tailgate, but it's a truck. You bought it to haul things not look pretty.

How long does it take to charge it, how waterproof, is it and how does weather impact it? I just bought a 2021 Yamaha Kodiak 700 EPS SE which is surprisingly fuel efficient. I am not opposed to an ev atv for commercial use, I like to ride 50+ miles and be gone for days. Will there always be a place for as ATV's for a long time?
@clintgolub1751

Really really intrigued by these! I actually strongly dislike how close the saddle can be to the motor making it feel like you’ve got tinnitus in your ears after a few hours, or the strong smell of gas fumes on older models. Being able to finally hear the wind and wildlife around you as you ride is a massive GAIN! As you said however, it’s still a young product category and will probably mature quite a bit this next decade.

I want a small EV to quietly pull a trailer at an easy forest track. An electric ATV would probably fit the job. Trailer weight with cargo is usually be 200--300 kg (440 -660 lbs), sometimes 450 kg (1000 lbs) The track/road is fairly easy, with maximum slope 20% or 14° Range is not an issue. You can probably count km your fingers (maybe one hand for miles). Speed is not an issue, as log as I don't have to carry the cargo. US$8000 is way over budget. maybe US$5000, but that's about max.

No need to pay that much unless you are hung up on the factory tailgate look, and even then you could just take it off and save it for when you're not going riding.

Still underpowered. Top of the line is 7500 watts - 10 HP. Since it's 4x4, it should be easy enough to hook up separate 12k motor for front/rear. And those can burst to 24k. That would give constant 32hp, bursting to 64hp for hill climbs and bogs. And if you water cooled them, you'd have the 64hp constant. Or you could run one motor per wheel using cv axles and ditch any transaxle weight. And the upside to electric is the power curve. Compared to gas, they don't have one. Max torque is at 0 rpm, meaning for picking through really rough terrain at a crawl, they are unsurpassed.. Run time remains the limiter. Now, if you want a post apocalypse vehicle, this combined with a rugged trailer carrying a genset and foldout solar array would be your survival ark. Fuel where you can scrounge it - hunker down for a solar charge when you can't.
