You sum up pretty much all of the units that I'd hope an Emperor's Children Codex should get: Fulgrim, Lucius update and Eidolon for the HQs. Phoenician Termies and Palatine Swords for Elites. Slaanesh specific cultists and updated Noise Marines. A specialized demon engine. And a Noise Marine /Kakophony Havoc type unit. The final addition I'd like to see is some sort of Fast attack type unit. Perhaps Slaaneshi bikes with a homage to that goofie Doomrider from 3rd ed. Or a jetpack short range Sonic unit.
dont forget the Sunkillers, elite heavy weapon squads that favored the lascannon. Their accuracy was second to none and would be a great havoc equivalent.
the World Eaters are getting a Beastmen type unit for their dedicated cultists. They can be seen in the back of the Angron leak, weather they're going to be brand new models or just redo's of the Blackstone Fortress models is the only point of contention. Since there's already Tzaangor's, then it would make sense for the upcoming World eater Cultists to be Khorngors, leaving the Emperors Children with Slaangors.

The lore and descriptions of the Emperor's Children consistently describe them as one of the most potent melee legions, I feel like the model ranges available for Slaanesh space marines never portrayed this fact very well. I would love to see some Emperor's Children equivalent to assault marines with them armed with an array of blade weapons that resemble the Laer sword, the Charnabal sabres or scimitars rather than chainswords/chainaxes etc. as to show they are still the sword experts they trained so much to be.
At the very least, make some dedicated and new Noise Marine models. Every EC list will have them and they're a safe bet. Maybe GW is waiting until it sells out of conversion kits lol
I love emperors children, they are one of my favourite legions but I really hope that my Iron warriors could get some iron circle units or special heads and shoulder pads from GW. That’s all I’m asking for.
I think that’s a fair ask; hopefully all the love for Horus Heresy will give GW a reason to think about bringing all the Legions their own codex in 40k. Can only imagine what Perterabo looks like now…?
First point, I already got me an EC army, so I am keen as fuck for an EC official codex launch. Second, if there is any unit I want back, Sonic Dreadnoughts 👌
Sonic blasters are super strong, if they made them any stronger it would be broken. They are even buffed at assault 3. They used to be heavy 3 assault 2.
Emporers Children should be more than just a "Glam Rock Band" of Noise Marines. I mean, Slannesh is more than just that. It's about living out all the sins you can think of. In my mind we have to think about some rules that conquers your enemy with his worst fears or let him live his highest dreams and lusts (to your positive ending, for sure). 😊
Noise Marines hopefully have a little more of that old school band vibe going forward. A Chaos Biker unit that oozes that Mad Max feel. Maybe with some razored nets and spinning chains wouldn't go amiss. Chaos Marines obviously should play on that Deviant aspect of Slaanesh and tie in with Lucius. Terminators are the interesting ones for me. I'd like to introduce the aspect of Slaanesh that deals with gluttony with them, but maybe combine that with aspects of the Slaanesh Chaos Marines and Noise Marines. Like the Terminators have served in the other professions before getting glutted at the top of the food chain which would be the Terminator elite.
I am about to get into 40k, and after reading alot of the lore, I would like to start my first EC + Slaanesh demons. Is this a bad time? Should I wait years till the new models come? Cause it is a really expensive hobby, specially outside europe/US. As I understand right now, I would have to buy Chaos Marines unit and paint it with the EC color scheme and some Slaanesh demons in order to make a cohesive army right?
Firstly - welcome to the hobby! It's a great time to get in. 😁 What I would say is you can make Emperor's Children however you want. You might want to paint normal Chaos Space Marines in the EC colour scheme, or you might want to convert some models using other kits (you can get Sonic Weapon kits from 40k or Horus Heresy games). Would recommend checking out reddit to see what others have tried and seeing what inspires you, but try it at your own pace and have fun experimenting. You'll have a great time creating your own take on Emperor's Children! 😄
What I'd recommend is to start making/painting some Noise Marine models. There are Noise Marine conversion kits you can get that "upgrade" standard Chaos Space Marine models. Noise Marines are a must have unit for Emperor Children armies and that won't change in the future. Sure, you may have older looking models by the time they release new ones, but everyone goes through that. I kitbashed custom World Eaters Berzerkers about 6 months before they released new models lol. But I learned a TON about the hobby in doing so, and I can still use those old models. They may not come out with any specific Chaos Marine faction models for at least a year. None are on the GW roadmap that they just released. I bet the next update will be for more general/standard Chaos Space Marines. You can still absolutely build an EC army right now, it just requires some crafting work.
updated sonic dreadnought would be cool. or even the return of that goofy thing. or if they at least made the arms so you can kitbash a dreadnought into a sonic one.
Other than what you did mention, I really miss something that was done back in 40k 3rd edition. As well in current AOS. Being able to summon demons. I think it's one of the most flavorful things CSM (but even more so the 4 specialized legions) can do. I really miss that mechanic. The allies option isn't as nice imho. Never the less, I am currently building my 3rd EC army. Sadly I sold the other 2 over the years. But this time Imma stick with them ^^ already up to 6000pts painted. 3d printing offers some lovely models.
