Picked up what is essentially a new in box NEF/H&R Pardner single shot 20 Guage. I used to have one of these as a kid and it was my go to squirrel and rabbit gun. I stupidly sold it, but today I lucked into another one. This was purchased new, and left in its box for almost 30 years. It still has the original paperwork and price tag hanging off the trigger guard. These are great, inexpensive (even still) single shot bullet proof shotguns.

I have the exact same gun except in modified, same year as well. I refinished mine with linseed and tru oil to a high gloss.

I bought one just like yours in the 90s, I think from Walmart. It has never been shot, just like all my other guns. I guess I'm not the only one that has done that.

I got one of those. I spent more refurbishing it than what I originally paid for it. Lol

Other than 40 years of just sitting there gunk, this one was immaculate.

They are nice guns. I got 5 H&R 13 Barrels for 2 of them. 3 for my rim fire need 22LR.

I often buy used single shot shotguns at pawnshops. I have this gun in an 18.5 inch barrel, 20 gauge, that I got for $110, right after Covid started up. I disassembled it, cleaned it, and camo painted it, added a 5 shell sleeve on the stock, an improved front sight, and a black padded butt pad. I really like it. It is hanging from mt 3 long gun rack in my man cave, along with a Marlin Model 60 .22 rim fire, and a Henry Golden Boy lever action .22 rim fire. Everyone who has seen it, wants to know how I camo-painted it! Definitely a keeper!

Hmm recently got one of these but mine has slug sights (I think) and a kinda weird shell holder "pipe" cavity on the side of the butt stock. Trying to figure out if I can take steel wool to the case hardened receiver with out ruining it.

Slug barrel? And did someone change the stock? I wouldn't steel wool the receiver unless you want to lose the case hardened finish.
