I stand by paladins as the best feeling overwatch “ripoff”. Sure the graphics aren’t the best and it’s buggy, but why should you care? It feels very replayable and diverse
Riot doesn't try to balance League of Legends. More than anything the regular patches are aimed to keep the meta from getting stale. Also I totally feel like every champion is broken in League too. Honestly, even in Overwatch, at least back in the day, every hero felt OP.
I'm actually surprised how everyone falls for the story that all the games in this genre are copies of OW when in reality the vast majority of the games that people accused of being copies of Overwatch had already been announced for months or even years by the time Overwatch was announced, just to give some examples Overwatch was announced at the end of 2014, while Gigantic was announced in 2013 but was called Rait, Paladins was announced in 2012 but at that time it was called Global Agenda 2, and let's not even talk about TF2.

The vast majority of those characters that were accused of being copies are copies, but from the prequel to Paladins, which is Global Agenda 1, a game that came out in 2009. The developers even deleted characters that they had already finished just because OW released similar characters. For example, there's the medic from Global Agenda, who was promised to be introduced to the game. It was even leaked at the time, but they had to remove it because Overwatch went ahead and announced Mercy.

Honestly I hope concord does goes well over the time. It really is a game far from being a OW clone unlike marvel rivals. If wasn't for the bad marketing, likely the game wouldn't have the hate its having until now. (Aside a tutorial in beta which could had helped people understand better the game since most were getting there thinking it was already a "ow clone)
its 2024 and people still call Paladins an Overwatch copy? When they were in development at the same time? And Overwatch actually took most of their initial hero designs from an older Hi-Rez IP? I get the bias and you don't like Paladins thats understandable, but be fuckin real dude
