If its taking just live fish. Take some and freeze them. Continue to feed the live fish till they get use to you feeding them. When they start coming up for food cause its you then drop in a frozen/thawed feeder fish. They should hit it by instinct. Continue to do that till they take just the frozen/thawed feeders. Then move to tilapia, shrimp and do the same thing. Then move to pellets. Its a long process sometimes. 2 weeks, 1 mth sometimes 3 mths. But you can get them off. Also when small peacock bass are very shy or skittish. Get some dither fish to swim around. Something big enough for them not to be able to eat them. I usually use bigger tetras. It will let the peacock bass know its safe to come out. Plus the dithers will also eat pellers or flakes. Eventually its gonna teach the peacock bass that pellets and flake is food. They will hit it too. Many ways to do this. Good luck! Hope this helps!

@@inventorykingi actually have them in a quarantine tank that i treat the water with. Then net them up as needed and give them a water dip but never poor any water in the main tanks. 😀

Those pike are beautiful my man. Those Kelberi’s are awesome, I want to know more about Peacock Bass. Are there any that would be happy in a 155 gallon tank?
@inventoryking
@inventoryking 3 года назад
Hey Donnie, Thanks. For the tank size. If its a couple of the fish I would try it. But lots of monster fish, I would go bigger for sure.
@donniebrazis
@donniebrazis 3 года назад
Thanks for the reply, I’ve been doing some research and I think kelberi peacocks are on the smaller side of those fish. I’ll definitely be watching your progress, what size is that tank yours are in? Anyway best of luck and Happy Holidays
@tvfish
@tvfish 3 года назад
155 is good to grow them out in. Orinos are the slowest growing peacock bass. If you keep mono, ocellaris they grow pretty quick. Like an inch month. Kelberis are right behind them. They all get around 16-20" so you can house them for a year to maybe 1.5 years in a 155. Its the width thats gonna hurt you. Temensis and True Ocellaris get huge. Temensis grows at a rate like a silver arowana. In 1 year it will get to 15-20" so i would not recommend a 155 unless you are just using it to grow them out. 180g will house for about 2 years. For most peacock bass. If you are keeping 2-3.

How much did they cost at that size? The other day at the store they had the babies for $8.99. That seemed kindof high to me but I’ve never bought them before 🤷‍♂️

So how do you get them to eat then? They only eat live food right now since they aren’t trained to eat prepared food. This is a process to get them to eat pellets and frozen foods

Sorry that ill be unsubbing because ,i like your content , I've kept fish for many years i don't need to see live feeding on youtube,seen it to often on youtube with tubers getting excited about fish eating fish .and yes it happens in the wild but I'm not watching in the wild it kinda disgusts me ..
