Girl you made me laugh so hard making the dessert. You have no idea how much I needed that. I got some bad news at the doctor today. Thank you so much. I have really been enjoying how down to earth you are. I’m glad you don’t listen to those people who are negative. ♥️
Well you just made me smile too 😊 I really appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. I am praying for your health, I'm sorry for the bad news. May the Lord heal and comfort you thru this troubled time and know that He is with you every step of the way 🙏
Kimberllyn, My favorite kind of people too. Sloppy Joes were out Standing. I did add a small splash of ACV bc I like the tangy bite. Thank you and love you, MMel. I don't get much done for watching your video's Thats Okay though I'm nearly 73 and do what I like. lol.
Try patting out your brownie dough on parchment paper that has been sprayed. Then you can just pick it up and lay it on top of the other one and just peel off the parchment. Easier than it sounds I promise. You did a great job on everything!
@Bell Guts .... I can answer that.. :) Salad made fresh and put in an Airtight Container will last 4 to 5 days,, but I also do not put the Dressing on it, or add anything like chopped tomatoes, etc, until actually using the Salad at mealtime. I keep chopped cucumbers on hand, as well as cherry tomatoes, cut up celery ,etc to add to a Salad. I've also used a Large size Ziploc Bag, and that works well if one doesn't have an Airtight Container available. Just be sure to make sure your greens of choice are dry, and then lay two layers of paper toweling on the bottom of your Container, or of your Ziploc bag. I used to use the " freezer type baggies, that are a bit bigger than a sandwich size, because I think they work better than regular baggies, and I could portion out my Salad for use within several days, it was ready to use. I hope this helped you. :)
I have been watching you for about five months now & subscribed to your channel after the first recipe that I watched on RU-vid. My husband passed away on Oct. 6, 2022, and that's when you popped into my life!! You have truly blessed me. (God sure does work in mysterious ways!!) In a way, you have saved my life, along with our precious Lord & Savior, Jesus. I was so so lost & was grieving (still do!!), and your amazing, delicious recipes gave me something to do in my spare time & got me to cooking again!! I love how laid back you are & I love your southern voice & the soft music you play while you cook. Your recipes are simple, easy and delish...right down my alley!! Love and prayers and lots of blessings to you and your family!! I cannot thank you enough Mel. 😃😁🥰❤❤🙏🙏
I was so entertained watching you make the brownies and your commentary is hilarious 😂🤣❤️. I felt for you and had to show my daughter I am not the only one who gets irritated in the kitchen sometimes lol. They look absolutely delicious though.
Mel, I just found you a week ago. Since then, we've fallen in love with the Chicken & Cornbread and French Onion Chicken casseroles. I LOVE your approach to cooking...and baking!! Keep it up, Mel!!
I love your transparency and the fact that you can laugh at your mistakes, learn from them and move on! I am going to try these (using your suggestions to make it easier) because my family loves brownies with Carmel! Thanks for making me laugh with you today! Love this channel!
I have made these brownies a million times. I use jumbo chocolate chips and add the top layer of brownie in small pieces. The top layer is a bit putzy. I do not use my double boiler for the carmels, I use a regular pan and have not had any issues. These are my families favorite brownies - by far. I love your videos. My family loves your recipes!
Oh my goodness…..you are a hoot! If we were neighbors no doubt we would be “BESTIES”😉 I absolutely LOVE watching your videos! You are so real and transparent….keep up your sweet videos!!!!!! Blessings from my home here in Colorado to yours ❤️✝️❤️
Thank you! Its so nice to see others using different pasta than what a recipe calls for. My friends laugh at me cause I say I'm making spaghetti but I use penne or rotini pastas 😆
Cracked me up " that was about the most irritating thing I've done in a while" That's why I love watching your videos! I feel like I'm inside your honey kitchen watching you! Thanks for sharing! Looks delicious 😋
I watch Pioneer Woman on Food Network every Saturday morning and even have one of her cookbooks. But I haven't made many of her recipes. I always think I will, but never do. I have made her Sloppy Joe's several times though and I love them too. Oh, and tell Patrick I love mustard on mine as well! I'm a mustard lover. My momma always used to say, I don't know how you can eat so much mustard on that hotdog, or whatever, that would take my breath away! Lol 😆
i want to say thank you for being you in your videos. you don't try to be perfect . you are real like the rest of us. some videos people try to be the cleanest place and perfect covers. i am happy i am not the only one that uses my pizza pan as a cover. lol... thank you i love your videos. keep up the great work.
**Wiping the drool away from my mouth.** Everything looks and sounds so incredibly delicious. Adding a few of these to my meal plan. Tonight I made Katt's vegetable beef soup. Have a Beautiful and Blessed evening and week. See you next video. Stay safe and healthy. God Bless.
Mel, when I went to get my nails done a few weeks ago the lady beside me said her husband is the pioneer woman's recipe creator! I thought that was pretty cool.
I LOVE Pioneer Woman I have all her cookbooks and I've made a ton of her recipes!! I just retired from my Chef job of 11 years at Pi Beta Phi Sorority. It was so cool getting to make her recipes for my girls because she is a Pi Phi from USC!!! Love your channel and all the yummy stuff you make!!!
You had me cracking up during this video. So glad you shared it. Definitely a desert I would try making. I think my coworkers would be in heaven if I made it.
I love watching you! You are my kind of chef. You'd recipes are quick and easy for families. I laughed with the brownies because I thought I was the only one doing things that way!
Loved this video. You had me rolling while you were making the brownies. I’m not a baker either. I wouldn’t even attempt those brownies. You make me wish we were neighbors. Thanks for keeping it real and sharing your love of God with us.
I watched the Appalachian meal video you made with your parents again and enjoyed it even more than the first time. I appreciate the love and the Good Lord's values your family shares with us. I too LOVE Pioneer Woman recipes and many of her products. One of my favorite trips was visiting my best friend in Bartlesville OK, and going to see the Drummond Lodge at Christmas time. (That year we both unexpectedly became widows. The trip was great therapy for us.) One of my favorite PW recipes is her sheet pan lemon chicken with potatoes, carrots and fennel... something different, but easy and delicious.❤️
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your heart, too. I am sorry for your loss but what a blessing to have a friend to walk thru this time together and lean on each other. I appreciate you so much and I hope you have a blessed week

I thought I was the only one that had problems like that cooking! Lol!! I thought your brownies were beautiful! I love your videos so much because you are so down to earth. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that's a little comical in the kitchen 😉💖
You are so funny! I couldn't stop laughing at you while you were making the brownies. That's exactly the way things work for me. Thanks for the laughs! I love all of your videos, you give me so many ideas and my husband loves the dinners that you inspire me to make. 💕😊
LOL She really makes things harder than they need to be sometimes! BUT this is very ironic because I am cooking more new PW recipes again THIS WEEK LOL So be on the lookout! And thank you so much for your kind words in this comment too, this makes my heart happy!
Loved it when you were making the brownies you made my day, you are a special person and I love it , just keep doing things your way and never mind what anyone says . ❤️
Oh my goodness gracious 😳 I had the best of both worlds tonight, I was in the kitchen with momma Mel and you showed up but the pioneer woman 👩 herself Ree Drummond 👍😀💛 Thank you so much for sharing this ❤ 💗 I love love love love love the pioneer woman 👍💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛thanks again for all you do and for sharing ❤ 😊 and God bless you always 🙏 😊 love, respect and admire you so much ❤ 😊
In the sour cream noodle bake, I am here to tell you, chop some chives into that sour cream mixture in place of the green onions, and it makes it even better. I can't wait to try adding the red pepper. That would add a lot, as it is a mild, not too flavorful dish. I find I like more sour cream and cottage cheese in mine, as it makes it less dry. She even said she dialed back the sour cream, as her family members aren't in love with it.
Every homemade cake I have ever made has been dry, except for Wacky Cake. I doctor up cake mixes with melted butter, milk, pudding mix, a dash of vanilla, and sometimes an extra egg. They always taste great!
I really enjoyed getting to meet your parents. Please talk them into coming back to see us sometime! Look at your channel growth...Whoot!! Congrats! Everything looked great today. I need to try those sweet and spicy pickles. I think I will like them. Hope you have a great upcoming week! God bless!
watching you for the first time this week and I have to say what a delight you are! i love the way you cook. i have watched four of your videos and picked two recipes to try.
I just found your channel + subscribed the other day and my goodness, this video just confirms that I made one of the best decision I have in a while. I'm a visual person so I need a video or step by step pictures to help me cook. You trying to lift the top brownie batter layer = me. 💯 so authentic and real. I love this & you so much.
I can't bake at all, I'm not a measurement person. My dad asked if I would make him brownies I got him some at the store, and was done with it. Watching you make those brownies gave me a good laugh and made me like you even more 💜 as I get older I just laugh instead of cry lol I just call things Rustic now too lol
I just started watching your channel, Mel! I love your easy skillet meals and how cute and funny you are! Wish you lived next door. I will definitely be trying your recipes.
I always roll or flatten things like the brownie dough on parchment paper and it come off much better. Sometimes I pick up the entire paper, flip it upside down over my dish, then peel off like a sticker😊.
Greetings from South Carolina Mel! I am so glad I subscribed to your channel. You have such a sweet personality. I love your recipe tips and tricks. Your sense of humor added with your delicious recipes makes your videos such a joy to watch. Thank you so much and have a Blessed day 😊🙏
My grandmother had a recipe like those caramel brownies but you dropped the top on by spoonful and not layer out but hers were hard and you had to put in sealed container for a day to soften. They sell caramel bits now that are unwrapped and smaller. Highly recommend trying 😁
I have made these and used parchment paper . Just press them out on the parchment paper and flip it over onto the cooked mixture and peel the parchment paper off. Worked great for me.
Lol.....I love you Mel !!!!! You make me laugh. I'm sure my family can hear me giggling here in my bedroom and are asking each other if I've finally lost it.....lol
I laughed out loud watching you make the brownies. I am also an instant gratification gal so I could relate to all the steps to make these brownies. They did look delicious.
Mel, another great batch of recipes! Girl I do love me some Ollie's bargains. You cook so much like I do. It was clear after watching your sweet mama and daddy cooking beans and cornbread just where your good instincts come from. Thanks once again.
I LOVED the brownie recipe, I was cracking up!! 😂 I also cracked up when you said, “Katie Bar the door”, My grandfather use to say this to me when I was growing up!! Must be a southern thing, I am from North Georgia!! ❤️
You’re my Sunday night friend and I enjoy every episode. You’re a brave woman cutting up that squash! I’ve cut myself so many times! But I love me some squash too! I’m impressed with your whole grain mustard girl! Ain’t cheap! But you go! You rocked these brownies! WAY nicer looking than her last ones. That was hilarious!
And you're mine, too! These brownies 🤣 oh Lordy cracked me up too! Thanks so much for being here every week and I hope you enjoy these! Have a blessed week ❤️
...Very entertaining watching you make that Brownie Dessert ... I was laughing quite a bit, ..😂😂 I like that .. " keepin it real, folks ". 😊🙂 I always made my own Sloppy Joe sauce. I saute chopped onion, diced sweet red pepper ( usually just a half is fine ) and some garlic. Then when those are ready, I make the Sauce . What I use is Chili Sauce ( I happen to like Heinz, but any will work ) , the Worcestershire , I use dry mustard ( 1/2 to 3,/4. tsp.; some Red Pepper flakes, tomato paste ( I use a small can) , a little bit of chili powder, some sweet Paprika, and of course, salt and pepper. I actually have never " measured " anything with making this, lol, except the dry mustard.... because I've made this for so many years ( 30 + years ) so I dont usually measure most things , except when I'm baking. ( My grandmother taught me to cook and we never really measured anything except when we baked and she said " it's vital to measure when you bake, otherwise things don't work out well.." ) lol. Really liked these Recipes., tgank you ! (.... I have made The Sour Cream Noodle Bake , I have used bowtie pasta and that actually turned out really good and I use freshly Grated combo of Colby Jack and Sharp Cheddar, on the meat when making g the first layer , and then put the same Combo of Cheese, on the top before baking. Mmmm mmmm. ! 😋. )
I laughed so hard watching you with the top layer to that Brownie! That looked just like me cooking!! I think you did an excellent job. Thanks for sharing! 👩🍳
