NEW Ferrari 812 GTS With INCREDIBLE Novitec Exhaust! First Drive Review

This is the new Ferrari 812 GTS Novitec! Based on the 812 Superfast but with the ability to retract the roof for immersive V12 driving! Close to 800hp at the rear wheels from the 6.5L V12 the 812 GTS runs a twin clutch gearbox for incredibly fast shift speeds while also providing a sophisticated drive in automatic mode. This particular car is upgraded with a Novitec exhaust system creating a phenomenal V12 sound that is further amplified with the ability to take down the roof or drop the rear window!

Let's be real, Novitec's exhaust systems are straight from heaven. I've seen so many video's with Ferrari v12's with Novitec systems but it never gets boring, what a sound!

In the age of hybrid/electric vehicles and everything else having turbo's, I'm so very thankful for the glorious, front engine 12 cylinder Ferrari. The day this car rolled out of Maranello, it instantly became a legend in style, performance and most of all....sound! Thank you James for this automotive symphony!

@@SenszR No, mid is correct. The location within the car does not matter. The location of an engine is described solely by where it sits from the axles. In this case it is between both axles. Either front-/rear is an extra to middle but not necessary. So mid is correct and front-mid is perfect.

The 812 GTS will go down as one of the greats. It will be propped up right next to the 458 Italia as the best the world had to offer for ICE vehicles. The soul of those two cars cannot be matched.

@@dinodatrindade2104 no, I’m just stating my opinion;) Fortunately I live in America, where classic American automotive icons are still relatively affordable to buy and maintain. And still legal to register. My state has a cheap one time license plate fee for cars over 25 years old. For a fraction of the cost of a new Ferrari one will turn more heads and you could daily it all year, south of the snow belt of course.

Take a sip the minute you hear any variation of hear: 'spot of context', 'gearbox snob', 'twin clutch', 'fundamentally', any variation of 'ear holes'/ 'smile glands'/ 'smiles per gallon' (8:20 9:15) or 'the camera isn't doing it justice' (14:36). I'm always smiling after watching the hard work of James & the boys from The Bunker... the drinks just make it wider.

I don’t know why I watch these videos because I’ll never own a Ferrari but I certainly appreciate such a beautiful car and the sound of a naturally aspirated engine, V12 at that! I’m 51 and have a few bikes and still love the scream of an in-line 4, the brrrruuppp of a two cylinder off road bike and the thump of a Harley. It will be a sad day when kids grow up not even knowing what they are missing.

In my opinion Ferrari with the last 10 years models (V8 NA, V8 Turbo and V12) are positioning themselves as the real benchmark for a real Supercar, not only with horsepower but with the entire performance, looks and technology and I mean, their sound are the best in the market, just pure F1 sound on their N/A models. Just simply AMAZING!

In 2002 I was invited to a TVR hospitality event in Newmarket - they brought a Tuscan, T400R + T350, took the rear windows out for sound + brought racing drivers to take guests for rides. Sounded epic, was genius! The Speed 12 was there on display, without engine (!).

Was looking for quality 812 GTS content just last night and unfortunately there wasn't much out there. Your video is fantastic. Aside from the rare stuff like your tdf or the 599 Aperta, i think the 812 GTS is the best modern v12 Ferrari. Would be a dream to own one before the world fully goes electric

The 812GTS is the biggest gift Ferrari could give to its wealthy customers, the first regular production V12 Ferrari with a retractable hard top! That's basically the dream. I'd buy mine in dark blue or dark green and use it till the end of my days!

Very well done! Your words are on point with this car. I love the looks and the sound of this 812 GTS. Definitely an improvement over the Superfast. This kind of driving theater will never be possible in an electric vehicle. I'm just sad I am not in a position right now to be able to get this car which is why I value your video even more because it allows me to get a taste of what this car has to offer. You can buy so many awesome cars, there're thousands of comparison videos between this one and that, that Ferrari, this Porsche, BMW M5, that Lambo etc. and always you get those numbers like 0-60 (0-100 km/h), torque, HP, weight etc. but in the end you got nothing from this. If you're not driving on a german Autobahn you can literally make no use of your great car. BUT: this sound is for you, you can almost enjoy it everyday, everywhere, at your leisure and that my dear gentlemen is absolutely worth the price!

Noticed that it does not have Michelin tires, did you notice much of a difference running on the Pirellis? Though I bet you would rather be in your TDF?

Not the best rubber in the cold and they welcome some heat in them before they find their operating window. TDF was the same until I fitted PS4S and things are more confident at lower temps before you warm it up. Also better water displacement 👍🏻

Good Lord that sound is beyond anything adding a Novitec exhaust did this car some justice ....whatever the cost I can’t imagine not wanting F1 sound in my street car....yes it’s a Ferrari and they engineer every aspect of their cars but this changes the whole personality of the car .... it gives Dr Jekyll’s alter ego a nice place to show his or her face and scare the the neighbors!

Im sorry but this is sooo much better than the flashy just ridiculous stuff like Koenigsegg etc. James is one of few youtubers who actually builds/invests in opportunities that create value in the real world beyond just entertainment. We cannot forget that it isn't a stock exausth, just the price on that will be approx 10k and with no more options. So the original sound is good but Novitec just takes Ferrari's to another level, the legendary 812 N-largo is one of the passports of the Brand. The thing is it really transforms the car which is addictive. Lamborghini's are even louder and just screams more, Fabspeed does an outstanding job as well.
