2021 Ferrari 812 GTS Review - Is This The New Greatest Car, In The World... EVER!?

In today's video I am driving what might be the last ever pure, naturally aspirated series production V12 Ferrari - and it's a convertible!
This is the mighty 812 GTS. 6.5L of displacement, 9,000rpm redline and an electrically folding hard top - could this be a recipe for a car good enough to displace the mighty F355 as my favourite car of all time?
#Ferrari #812 #GTS

I agree, and there's a decent amount of "everyman" motors he reviews as well. He's also gotten me more interested in Ferrari's and the other high end weapons that I always found boring because there's no chance of owning one. Also the scripting is top notch. I'm glad that DriveTribe thing never worked out. This is way better.

@@dash3dot this 812 has OPF filter. Generally, people think Ferrari V12s sound better than Lamborghini V12s. Just look at how people react to the 812 with straight pipes vs Aventador....812 sounds better than the Aventador. Stock it’s not louder, but it sounds better.
@dash3dot

@@mikemoggerson6651 I don't know what people say that. It just doesn't. There is way more substance in Lamborghini V12 sound, it's heavier (I don't mean louder), denser with way more mechanical rawness in it. Ferrari sounds so polished, too polite. Lamborghini and Pagani have quite similar sound, and You aint gonna convince anyone that 812 or any other modern V12 Ferrari sounds better than a Zonda.

But in the case of the Roma, they’ve ruined it on the inside with that stupid iPad thing and the unnecessarily complex touch screens. What’s the motorway cruise (70mph) engine RPM like in the GTS? I recall Mr. Metcalfe saying the gearing was very low and on a European motorway cruise he was in top gear but the revs were sitting around 3-3.5k. Which generated quite a bit of drone.

To me seems like modern supercars are too powerful these days to enjoy on the road. On a good day you might have 800 horsepower but half of it won't ever be reaching the road via those two rear tyres. Not before the thing is planted down hard enough for the aero to work and then you're three digits and can kiss your license goodbye. If it is front engined with this much power it probably needs to be four wheel drive.

Ye know, it's a beautiful car with a beautiful noise, but, I would have had silver wheels.

"This is a license loser, it really is." Do Ferrari's have cruise control? To me, one of the best features of cruise control on high performance cars is the ability to set one's speed under the rate tolerated by highway cops. It's very easy to be in something of a hurry, and so many modern cars, even of much less capability than 812 GTS, can easily creep one's speed up well above what's legal and is very easy to overlook. Such is one of the benefits of cruise control.

Yes, the 812 does and I believe it's even standard! Ferrari were a bit late to the party with it

I’m probably going to get slammed, but I don’t like the side profile or wheels on this Ferrari. It sounds glorious and has many outrageous positives. I think it looks good from the front and the back, but the side profile and wheels I just don’t like at all. Great review though. Sound clips are epic!

Like your shirts Jay, there is nothing vauge about your insights [no hate on the shirts, love them]. I'm not particularly motor minded, but I really do come away from these drive reviews feeling like i could hold a 5 minute basic, but enthusiastic, conversation with someone about each car.

Does anyone else have when you have them Holmesdale 'slides' at the start of the video, the video freezes but the sound continues? Only ever does it with that particular screen and I have to turn my TV off and back on again.

Nothing compares to a Ferrari V12. Most Ferrari V12's deserve to be shortlisted as the greatest cars ever. In a league of their own imo.
