A little, constructive, criticism if I may. Your camera positioning is too near-to-object. You need to keep it back more and/or drop the zoom. Honestly I'd suggest walking round the house filming yourself opening cupboards, wardrobes. Looking at the floor and the ceiling a few times so that you better understand the orientation of the lenses view and/or scan your eyes over the view screen more often. Tbh this is only something that comes with practice anyway. If you're mentioning about head height then we need to actually see it with perspective otherwise it kind of doesn't mean anything to anyone. Being the fickle lot we are there's a general rule of "open EVERYTHING!" ( more or less anyway). Detail is important. Does the galley have an oven/ combi, space for it, is it 'specable' if it's not in this one. Does it have a dishwasher? We don't know any of that coz you didn't really open stuff up in the kitchen and that's one place where potential buyers want to know how much space and what can you put in the galley. Hey we all start new things ( you may have sold boats for bloody years. Filming the things is a different beast unto itself by all accounts 😂) and none of us get everything bang-on 1st time so no harm, no foul and I hope you see this as helpful advice/ feedback rather than having a go which definitely isn't what i'm aiming at.

Exactly! Also I wondered where those cushions in the garage go. Perhaps in the master bedroom on each side?

I owned this same hull / boat / layout on stern drives, from 2010 up to 2016 (was called Monte Carlo 42 then). It was a great boat indeed! Easy to handle, economical to run (60 lt/h at 22 knots), really affordable to maintain, and extremely easy for a single person to clean and set it up to sail. If you are cruising as a family, and have two kids up to 10-12 y.o. It is ideal. It is fast, so you arrive at the beach before they start to get itchy. Four people can sleep comfortably. You have ample refrigeration space, and ours had a microwave/convection oven and a small dishwasher, plus three TV screens to keep the kids happy during longer passages. We never felt any lack of storage space, and truly appreciated the two full bathrooms. Only issue was the need to duck in order to get into the bed in the master cabin, which would be an issue with our tired backs, thirteen years later… Then our needs changed, and we upgraded to something a lot bigger. Bot now we are empty nesters, and truly miss the much more manageable 10 ton boat, while we carry around an energy thirsty 30 ton plus boat, with just two people on board, and occasionally another couple for company… I suggest you try to find a well maintained 2013-2016 boat, for half the price. Those boats are very reliable indeed.

Thanks for all the comments. All noted and Alex is well aware of what he needs to improve on but I felt it would have been a waste not to publish it. It was a lot better than my first efforts with a camera! There are a couple more to come from the same shoot which are likely to have a similar style but from then on he will have a chance to put your feedback into practice. Bear with!

Hey Alex, welcome to the crazy world of RU-vid 😉 My 2 cents is to say don't be discouraged by the comments, but instead take it as constructive criticism. Even Steven Spielberg shot his first video once 😉 If each video gets better and better, you will be on a winning streak in no time 😉

Great tour of a GOOD boat that doesn't hold water compared to the FANTASTIC 45 foot British or Polish sports cruisers. Galeon 425/485 HTS, Princess V40, Fairline Targa 45.

If you take it as constructive criticism and not a punch in the face, it could help. Obviously there were a few errors. Nothing too serious, but if you've never done it before, you don't really know what you need to do. So hopefully he takes it as just that, helpful advice. Solid first go though, I agree

I hope that this boat is significantly cheaper than the Fairline 45 because it’s not in that league. If it is a lot cheaper, ok. Feels like it’s not quite finished though and the dash is hideous. Otherwise quite nice!
@darthkek1953

The Targa 45 is more but nto a _lot_ more, certainly you'd be better with a UK boat (or Galeon) if you could afford the extra.
@ProductofNZ
@ProductofNZ 2 года назад
I would definitely go for a Galeon over this. Specifically a 400fly which is significantly cheaper than this but seems to offer a more luxurious feel. You probably lose some space aft but I think it offers a higher quality living space.

I couldn't make it through the entire video. Camera work was all over the place, up, down, left, right. The cameraman needs a seakeeper on that camera. Steady shots and smoother movements next time.

Hi Alex. Welcome to the comments where everyone knows how to film better. Not better than anyone specific - just better. I like the boat. You see them about in the US. Beneteau is not a high end brand, but a value brand. You can buy this new for the price of a used Princess V50. Cheers!

In Europe, healthcare is free at the point of delivery. I still think I would complain if a surgeon stitched my leg on backwards. There are many things that are free (or more accurately, paid for indirectly, like RU-vid via higher prices for goods and services to cover the cost of advertising on RU-vid). That does not grant them immunity from criticism, and how somethng is paid for is not and has never been the subject of criticism or even discussion on this comments page. Take your red herring elsewhere... it stinks. There's clever comments, and then there's just trying to sound clever without understanding what a logical fallacy is.

@@benlovesboats2854 I don't think you should be so critical Ben on the comments. It is constructive criticism...in which anyone should be acceptable to when 1st starting. Without constructive criticism, how would anyone get any better?
@RandomGuyRandomNumber
@RandomGuyRandomNumber 2 года назад
OK, you're a first timer, nobody is perfect, everybody has to start somewhere, constructive criticism is easier to take than snarky comments (though which strikes home more and is therefore likely to have the greater effect is debatable) etc., etc... but really, did you not realise whilst editing that you were twirling like a dervish and likely to induce sea-sickness in your viewers whilst they were on dry land ? We don't all have to be Steven Spielberg to know that making your audience feel like puking within a few minutes of starting to watch is not a good thing. Couldn't you have learnt that particular lesson on your own and edited out, or even just slowed down the shots that could be mistaken for an amateur's POV video audition for the Royal Ballet ? Wasn't there anybody supervising your first time representing your company on an international platform like RU-vid who could and should have said "this is just not up to the standard we require, please re-shoot or if that isn't possible, sorry, but it all gets binned - try to do better next time" ? Wasn't there any quality control, or even just a friendly pre-release viewing by an avuncular colleague with a little more experience ? For an amateur on his first outing, the criticism in these comments would be pretty mild. But it's not amateur hour - as a professional representative of an industry publication reviewing a flagship product from an industry leader that advertises heavily in that very publication, you deserve far worse. If I were Beneteau, I would regret letting you anywhere near my boat.
