I would really like to see an Arakni armory deck and I don't even play him, he just really needs some support. Would be cool to have some new contracts or something.
First strike aurora is different than aurora from the set. Its like rhinar in classic battles and rhinar from the set, (later on the classic battles alt art rhinar became set art for rhinar in heavy hitters). It is werid that first strike is doubling up on aurora when the collector collection of blitz precons has an aurora deck. I assume that the first strike decks are simpler decks but who knows. There is some disconnect from expectations to what is coming out though, and that concerns me.
I like 1st Strike as an intro product - the Blitz precons need a new identity though. Either increase their power level to make them semi-competitive for Blitz Armouries or make them exclusive to the collection boxes for kitchen table play.
@@ajwebber Oh nice, didn't catch that. Then this all makes a lot of sense to me. 1st Strike becomes the intro product and the collector boxes become the home table staple. I've had friends struggle with a few of the precons when learning so hopefully 1st Strike bridges that gap.
As much as I love the idea of a pack in the Armory decks, they would then have to tie every deck to a hero or class that released in a recent set. For example, putting a pack of Rosetta in the Azalea deck would be pointless
Great video thank you. Wasn’t too happy with the Kayo deck didn’t feel it was powerful enough. First strike along side blitz decks feels weird too, especially the same hero🤷🏼♂️
I love that you're saying they're too much guardian around when there is pretty much just Victor, then Bravo who's starting to be really behind everyone else and that's it (betsy isn't even a hero), there are more playable warriors, brutes, mechanologists, runeblade, illusionnists, assassins and ninjas at this point
Terra says, "each end phase", which seems like it allows for this to be done on your opponents end phase as well?? Flip the video image so that your hat is not a mirror image :).
I’ll be honest first strike decks feel like a huge miss. They feel too expensive for what they are and honestly they should just update the ira deck for a new playable hero that’s blitz legal and give it for free to stores. I really don’t know who this product is for :/
It's for people attending gen con for learn to play events there. My base guess is that first strike decks are gonna be purely for that. You come to a con, see FaB and you can buy a 10 dollar deck and try the game out.
As much as I do love guardians, we do have plenty of them already. Also I thought this was an all arcane set? Is Terra only available in the 1st strike decks?
Very disappointed with what first strike turned out to be. 2 ira welcome decks looks better to learn to play from, in my opinion. Its just rebranding the blitz precons... Which are being taken away from us and replaced with these collector boxes where you are all in... Or not.
I think what I've come to realize is that while a 30 card Ira welcome deck would be awesome for all heroes, it doesn't really onboard new players to a format that's established.
@@DMArmada hahaha fair... Ira welcome deck is its own format haha. I expected something like 2 blitz decks, a paper mat for 2 players, a booklet to teach blitz. I dreamed that it would be that, plus an adult hero that overlaps both blitz heroes so that by combining the 2 40 card decks you would get a cc deck for the adult hero with a link in the booklet to a video or web page that helps you convert the decks into the cc deck. It could've been way better designed than what it turned out to be.
I hope these decks come with a paper playmat. I think that is such a huge miss when it comes to new players cause it sucks having to go look up how the field should be layed out
Really love playing with my Kayo armory deck. Let's me go toe to toe and casual games with my friends who have built out decks when I could never afford to do so otherwise. Only thing I wish they would add is arcane barrier sideboard pieces. Especially with the all arcane set coming out it's going to be brutal if someone shows up with an armory deck to an armory event and has no way to stop arcane damage.
Yes and no, kayo can race arcane damage output very well. You can crack your savage sash and hide tanners without worrying about using the block value first, it changes the way you play only slightly.
Fair enough in a regular Kayo deck but in my experience the Amory deck feels built to block 2 throw 2 while setting up 3-4 card hands. I imagine playing against a wizard would feel terrible when I just have an extra blue or red I would normally block with but I just have to sit on it rather than throwing it into AB. But that could also just be my inexperience as a player. :)
@@jiffyb333 i dont think it is, you sound like you know what you are doing. To be fair, my kayo cc deck is basically the armory deck but i swapped some stuff and added about 5 non attack cards which can gum up my own plays more than i thought they would. Racing a kano player locally (just for fun games), i found it to be smarter to just go all in on aggro kayo versus trying to play around the arcane damage combos. I did lose in the end but i get a huge lead very fast which leads me to believe that racing is just as effective, if not more effective, than using arcane barriers to play around the wizard. Which would give the wizard more time to set up or look for the combo. I think we are on the same page otherwise.
LSS still refusing to include accessories with their products 😅 Truth is, I'm pestemisticly optimistic about the first strike decks. On one hand, they could play really good. Something blitz decks have been lacking since... always. On the other hand, what happens to the blitz decks? As for the azalea deck. Just 2 words. #azaleacult
Terra is the reason Crown of Seeds is banned. I think Florian could use it well too (there's a difference between "using it" and "using it well"), but I'm pretty sure the Guardian is the #1 culprit.
Since his name is just Terra, i have a feeling he's the armory deck next year with a new hero James White teased. But wheres ice? How long is it's vacation 🤔
Ice has a lot of problems that was mentione by multiple people working at LSS primarily being frostbite not being super fun to play against. I assume they're either going to release Ice as a response to some meta shift or completely reworked focusing on like discarding cards instead of increasing cost.
