I grew up listening to this band from the first album and honestly thought this shouldve been the album to break them to the big time. Still their most versatile album to date and as usual very well written. These guys dont get the accolade they deserve like some lesser pop punk bands. They're in the top two for me. This song from New Found Glory is a classic from the early 2000's, along with many other hit songs from awesome bands like the The All American Rejects, Simple Plan, Plain White T's, Green Day and a few other bands who were rocking those times with great music! This one direction boy band, which have my respect, they are good singers but if anything they sampled out from this song, which came way before their "Everybody wants to steal my girl"... Who ever is commenting here against this song, is because they didn't know it existed and obviously they have to improve their taste in music lol
One Direction fans are so dumb. Look at the dates of the uploads even! This was uploaded 2009, and "Steal my Girl" was uploaded 2014. Even that's enough evidence that New Found Glory used this chord progression before One Direction did.
Well, obviously they met the day before (or really it is a metaphor for time passage), instant attraction, and then went all the way from the record store to where they spent the night together. I get where people are coming from when they say that One Direction copied this song's intro but if you really think about it, what about the rest of the song? This video got so deep in the last few seconds, it's not even funny. It changes the entire perspective showing a narrative written backwards but moving forwards. The last look on that girl's face I've seen too many times. She did it perfectly. I could say so much about this, but ultimately brought back to two simple words; It's genius.
So getting back to this song...I feel like people really under looked this NFG and the coming home album. in my opinion it's the best thing they've done.

Louis and Liam wrote on soooo many songs, especially the last 3 albums, which are the best. They informed me of some extra stuff about the production of steal my girl and I listened to them and took that on board. I wasn’t fussed about the issue with steal my girl, they very well could’ve taken some inspiration from this song, that wasn’t my point. Took me too much time to get into this record. But, looking back now, it's one of my favorite from NFG. I think, as I grew old and with experience, it speaks more to me now than when it was released. Love that band.

Both song intros sounds like Faithfully by Journey. If anything Hayley should know, being an artist/writer herself that a lot of songs are sampled and interpreted for other songs probably being the case for this NFG song and 1Ds song.
