If you feel like there’s a “ball” behind you knee it could be that you developed a baker’s cyst from the injury. The cyst itself will typically clear up on its own but sometimes needs to be drained if it’s large/not resolving. You should get your knee checked out to make sure there’s no underlying injury that needs to be addressed.

Hey!! Athletic trainer here! Josh, with you mentioning it feeling like a ball behind your knee & sounds like some stiffness, you may have a Baker’s Cyst. Also, a meniscus tear can have referred pain in the back - based off of how this injury occurred that would be surprising, but meniscus injuries can act pretty weird & the pain can come & go. I would definitely get it checked out if it continues to be an issue after Christmas, especially if you have any instability!

But im a nurse another thing u could have bakers cyst which is behind knee its a fluid filled cyst that causes swelling. I needed an mri to get my results. Ct scan didnt see the tear. Hope u feel better
