I appreciate the interview. These keepers have a lot of pressure on them, especially when caring for celebrity pandas such as Fu Bao, and Xiao Qi J - social media is relentless.

(인터뷰 번역) (쉬샹님)최근 푸바오의 성격은 개구쟁이 아가씨라고 말할 수 있어요. 사실 비교적 착하고 온순한 편인데 먹이를 먹을 때 깨끗한 걸 가려 먹으려 하고 숙녀처럼 행동해요. 자기 몸매 관리도 잘하는 편이구요. 중국에 와서 지금까지 몸무게가 103kg 정도이고, 앉거나 눕거나 할 때 많이 뚠뚠해 보이지만 서거나 걸어 다닐 때는 좀 날씬해 보입니다. 몸매는 비교적 변화가 없이 잘 유지하는 편이에요. 개구쟁이라는 것은 방사장에서 놀 때 뛰어 돌아다니고 기어오르고 내려오는 걸 좋아하는 걸 말하는 거에요.
(인터뷰 번역) (쉬샹님) 푸바오는 보통 11시쯤 내실에서 자기 시작하고, 오후에는 2시 10-20분쯤 내실로 들어가려 합니다. 내실에서 자는 걸 좋아해요. 내실이 무척 시원한데, 도시에서 에어컨 튼 것보다 시원합니다. 자외선이 강할 때 내실에 들어가면 무척 시원하죠. 옆에 친구들이 많다는 걸 푸바오에게 인식시켜주고 있어요. 여러 판다들이 함께 있고 혼자가 아니라는 걸요. 푸바오는 중국에 온 이래 많은 표현을 하고 있어요. 여러분들의 관심에 감사드립니다. 저희도 최선을 다해 돌보도록 노력하겠습니다.
I have some reservations about Fu Bao's main keeper Mr. Xu Xiang because he doesn't seem to be communicative enough for Fu Bao. Of course he has a lot of work to do and big responsibility, really hope that the centre hire more assisting work force, so that the main keepers there can do more for their pandas. Though I understand that he needs more time to grow and develop himself as a good panda keeper, more lively and pleasantly 'talkative' keeper would be more compatible with Fu Bao, as Fu likes to interact with the keeper and would like to be talked to about what's going on around her. The morning greetings, evening good-byes, talking in between in a friendly and gentle tone are beneficial to communicative Fu Bao. The same kind greetings/talking routines will make Fu be more at ease and comfortable. Let's hope that he does his job well. If Fu can be really happy with him under his care, it means that he succeeded in forming a real bond with our Fu.
China breeders all are expert and professional .. they dont update in socmed doesnt mean they dont communicate to pandas .. if you wanna see panda who still spoiled by nanny you should watch xian xian zai with nanny Li .. fubao is a mature panda and we can see at luve streaming sometimes daddy Xu gently touch her nose and her head . That makes fubao so happy .. China breeders are so expert that they know this panda is not capable of what and they start training them with what .. we can see fubao is still holding long bamboos strangely and this breeder keep training her with putting fruits above the basket .. let fubao searched by herself .. this is education .. panda 2 years old can be separated with mom .. they need to learn independent
@@Pandamoony I get your point up to a point. What I mean by 'communication', it is the kind of communication that leads to forming a real and deep bond. Hope you don't think of 'gentle and encouraging communication routines' as being equal to 'spoiling pandas', which, in itself, has some good effect on them, as pandas can be themselves without a care. About 'the experience part' you mentioned, sadly, there're cases like, you can have years of experience of caring for pandas 'without really loving them', you can have years of experience of teaching 'without loving your students', etc. I'm not saying that Mr. Xu Xiang doesn't care about Fu Bao. He's 'trying to be good to her', which I appreciate. Hope he gets more used to talking more and often to Fu Bao, then Fu'll understand him better and feel genuinely comfortable around him. For me, personally, what kind of keeper he/she is, whether he/she has the right attitude, 'loving and respecting pandas with their best interests at heart' is more important than experience. The fact that someone has years of experience doesn't guarantee that pandas will be automatically happy under their care. On a side note, Fu could be 'a bit happy with small apples', there're more important and interesting things that make her so happy. Thank you for reading my long message. (인터뷰 번역) (쉬샹님)푸바오가 격리되어 있을 때는 환경에 낯설어서 심리적으로 두려움이 있었고 익숙해져야 해서 높이 오르 내리고 빨리 걷고 뛰는 게 안전하다고 느꼈을 것입니다. 동물의 본능적 반응이지요. 우선 먹을 걸 챙겨주고 천천히 만져주면서 머리털부터 접근하고 그 다음 콧등을 만져줍니다. 제 목소리와 냄새에 익숙해지면 다시 한걸음씩 다가가 사랑하는 마음으로 사육합니다. 거리를 좁히고 접촉으로 신임을 얻는 점차적인 과정이죠. 푸바오가 중국에 왔을 때는 마침 고죽이 나는 때였는데, 푸바오는 고죽을 참 좋아했어요. 지금은 협죽이 나는 때인데 역시 잘 적응했구요. 10-20여일만에 적응했어요. 고죽 먹을 때와의 배변량도 비슷합니다. 요 며칠 수죽도 넣어주어 이 지역 대나무에 적응하기 시작하도록 하고 있습니다. 이 지역 대나무의 종류는 아주 많습니다. 보조간식으로는 사과,워토우,당근, 이 중에서 사과를 제일 좋아해요.
We'd like Fu Bao's yard and He He's yard to be trimmed. I heard in Yi Bao's yard, the job has been done, which is good. There're lots of overgrown weeds, grasses, etc., in Fu's yard, where ticks or other harmful insects could increase. Probably He He's yard is the same. Hope the centre mobilise or hire some helping hand, as the yards are big. I know pandas get itchy here and there every now and then, but Fu Bao seems to be getting too itchy these days, even biting her flesh part. Preventive measures are always the best, in this case, for possible future skin trouble. The keepers' hard work will be greatly appreciated.
