New Garage Part 8 - Ceiling Drywall & Window Trim

I had the garage door installer company come out to do that ($150 well spent). Then they came back a couple days later after the drywall to reinstall it. It was worth it since they adjusted and fine tuned it for me too. Make sure you note where the tracks supports were installed. Take photos before and measurements from the front and side walls.

I only did strapping on the front wall studs. No strapping on the trusses.

@@MTNRanger okay cool , just had my garage built looks alot like yours .. did you have any issues with putting osb in the center truss for storage, I noticed the ceiling installation stuck out over the stud/truss , thought that might put pressure on his drywall once ya decide to lay osb or plywood on top for storage, any issues there ? .. thanks for posting , great videos

@@davidfrisch5538 The ceiling insulation is very light weight. It's stapled on both sides and there shouldn't be any issue with it pushing on the drywall. I don't know if you have seen the other videos, but the roof is very shallow and there is very little space between the trusses and the roof. So no storage above the ceiling.

The builder chose and installed the garage door. I assume it’s probably a polystyrene insert with vinyl backing in the openings of the steel door.

@@gamingtv218In the winter it stays warmer longer. Ideally, I will add a mini split heat pump HVAC at some point for total control.

@@ndrzmansn It's a Hubbell Weatherproof Extension Single Gang 2-1/2 Inch. I put a single gang plate on top and two 1/2" threaded wire clamps. Painted everything white. jrmsupplies.com/products/hubbell-weatherproof-extension-single-gang-2-1-2-in-662068
