I was wondering why I clicked on your video. But after seeing how you made those shelves and those 2x4s put up to hold all those tools along every wall!!! That is just what I needed to see to do to my shed. Thanks for the video.
Love your building. You did an awesome job on your shelving. Thank you for sharing this. I'm needing a a building a little bigger than this for storind my farm tractor and implements. This will be an awesome building for me. The time is also a big factor for me. Ive been shopping around for these and i definitely liked the structure and colors available. Thank you so much.
I bought a 22x35 with 9' walls and A frame peak from all steel carports. Same thing, 3 Mexicans. Built the damn thing in 7 hours anchored to concrete. Outstanding
I'm glad this buyer is happy with his carport. I actually sold these in my business for a couple years. I stopped because although they do appeal to people mainly because of the price they carry with them some negatives as well. First in many states the permit is way more than $15. In fact many states will require a foundation for a structure this size. This gentleman seems sure that this is build solidly, I am not. With the ridges running as they are snow will not slide off this building but will instead build up . Do you have any idea how many carports have fallen under a snow load and damaged cars and trucks? Trust me, thousands! As for wind I really don't have any experience with wind damage on these but in a windy area I wouldn't doubt it's a problem. Hey this dude is happy and that's great. But, these are not well built structures despite what some will tell you. The two positives are this: One there cheap and Two there cheap! You get what you pay for!!
I'm guessing for snow loads, that also depends on your area where you are. The area he is (from information on his bill of sale), he lived about 30 miles from me. I plow snow so I pray for snow and that prayer hasn't been answered for several years.... likewise I've seen videos where people are shoveling snow off their roof and I'm glad I dont live there. Basically look at your roof in the winter and decide for yourself, but it is a good point to bring up...
Wow, Great price! I just built a quickie 16x24 off a truck body box and have $2000 in materials into it I have videos up on my channel about it. I thought I was doing good... For Double installed, yours is way better deal....
Contracted with Gatorback Carports and Eagle Carports for $6600 steel building. Building shifted and the walk-in door is jammed shut. Over the past week plus, made several calls to Gatorback which were answered with friendly sounding promises to fix, but no action. Today I was referred to “Chris” at Eagle who was unpleasant and could not say when they “might have a contractor in the area.” Chris said that if I “bashed them” in reviews such as this, I would be “put at the end of the line.” Guess I'm at the end of the line, but doesn't seem like I lost anything.
They gave me specs needed for the concrete guys and I couldn't get that info from the other carport company.. On top of that they were less expensive and much quicker to get installed. The other company had us on a long waiting list, but they got out in I think less than a week.. They bent a little piece in the gable front I didn't like, but called them and they came out and fixed.. Good Company - Cheaper, quicker and better service..
Wouldn't trust it in high winds with spike in dirt anchoring. Hope it's on high ground with no slab. Should add mobile home deep anchors. Great value and workmanship. Let's hear rat rod👍
Ya, that’s sketchy. I’d want to be anchored enough to resist uplift calcs for a possible weather event or tornado. Weather doesn’t have to destroy everything if you plan well
Thank you for putting this video on you tube. I'm down sizing to a mobile home but there is no garage, I've been on the internet looking for different ones. I almost brought the arrow carport that has a enclosure kit, now I am definitely getting in touch with this company.
I know it sold me! And there is an Eagle Carports within 5 miles of my house! Only issue I'll have....wish permits were that cheap here in Ft. Worth, Texas!
When you get paid on % you don't play around. Your style is what you call a "Bent Bow". Bet they put up 3 more just tops that day. Hey buddy if you know in advance you are going to get a good snow. Brace your loft up from the floor to the bottom of the loft. (The center one.) Get you a 4x4 and cut to fit. Then you can remove after the snow's gone. Just a bit of advice from 10+ yrs running my truck. You have a lot of extra weight hanging there. I'd hate for yours to cave in. (By the way. That is one awesome hot rod.)
That's a nice shed. I paid a little less than $3k delivered for a 10x16x7 stick built platform shed, it's great for all the property equipment. But you always need to go bigger, so you don't want to know how much I sunk into my 33x48x18 BUILDING.
@@aol11 Just the building and excavation, about $60k. I did add a lot of "details" though. Overhangs, wraparound porch, cupola, ceiling, insulation, gutters, etc. Concrete and all the other stuff to make it nice, keep adding ontop of that. One of the most unanticipated expenses however was a 2nd set of tools! Where's my impact driver? House or shop?
Hey Rich I'm so glad I found your video, I'm looking at doing the same kind of building on a gravel pad like you did. Almost every other video I found for these is up on concrete but where I live the concrete slab would be more expensive than the garage. Can you tell me if you're still happy with the gravel floor, or if you wish you would've shelled out for concrete? Do you know how deep you made the gravel, and if you had to rent a compactor? Does the floor get wet when it rains? Thanks so much!
Good vid, Good ol Russell Point, Indian Lake I'm in Dayton and ride my motorcycle there alot in the warmer months. I'm putting up a 24 x 26 with-in the next month or so.
I’m looking to have a metal building put in around the same size. Is that pea gravel? If so was there anything put down under the gravel? I am trying to avoid a concrete slab and also not having a dirt floor.
I appreciate your video and hope you can help. 1. Did that include the install? 2. Im in south Florida and wonder if they can deliver and install. 3. Im storing some exotic cars so would you recommend a concrete floor or pavers vsgravel? 4. Do you have their website as I need to also store my 4 place trailer with jetskis and 2 motorcycles. So 20 wife is cool but want to see if they can make a longer one. By the way, Great use of space Richard. Hope you can respond. Thanks go buddy.
Kinda sucks in my part of Ohio they won’t build here. I tried to build my own on the website and it says the service isn’t available and I’m only about a hour and a half away from Logan county apparently
I build this carports for 8 years and we always trying to get perfect and fast we had a group of 4 guys we can build small standard 18×21 6ft tall in 20 min but not always its the same some group do some poor woork because don put the passion and effort on the building
@@jameshswor I'm sorry you feel that way. God teaches us to love each other, but hatred seems to tear us down. I don't know you but I hope you are well, I hope whatever challenges you face throughout this week you get through. 🙏🏿
I bought one off of my father in law he had a garage build and no longer needed it, I took it down & hauled it to my house , and set it up on footers my land was not level. I framed in between the metal poles put insulation & osb turned out good .made some videos of it click on my channel to see.
Hello! You are in Ohio and I am assuming long cold snowy winters. How does a metal garage hold up under lake effect snow?. Also, is there an option for an automatic door opener with a metal garage? Thank you
I have one just like that. When the wife and i moved me my 22 yr old son and my wife took it down anmoved it put it back up by our selves had it inspected and it full. My panels are 30 foot long it was hell to move but i love my building. At 57 it was a good work out moving it.
Unfortunately, the prices of these have increased since this video was posted. You'll still find a great deal though. Much cheaper than a traditional garage.
@@generalvlogvideo1948, in the video you stated that you thought the ground was level and that it turned out it wasn't. Can you explain that a bit more? That's one of my concerns. If I buy one of these and the ground isn't level to their satisfaction, what happens? Do I have to make it level right then and there? Do I have to pay a bit more to have them level it? Do they just use longer upright posts and I fill it in level later?
just bought a metal garage and was wondering on the way to attach my 2x4s to the walls shoud i run bolts from the outside of metal studs(with rubber washers) or just screw in to metal studs from inside with a short metal screw that wont break the outside wall. this will be to hand tools and/or peg board?
Your brother-in-law is a sales manager for Eagle Carports, huh? There's a big difference between a review and a plug. You said you weren't sure which this was; I'd be interested to know. Please correct me if I'm wrong. They are coming to install mine this morning.
I purchased a VersaTube Building Systems garage and boy let me tell you, that has been the best investment I’ve made. They use a mandrel bend at the corners instead of the crushed bending like you see in this building up at the corners. Also, they include the foundation engineering with the purchase which no one else that I spoke to at that time did. They are on the pricier side but after installing mines and watching this video I really do think that you get what you pay for.
Get you some 10/2 uf romex and run a line to your panel that’ll you can run it off a 30amp single pole breaker i have mine off just a 20 amp that’s enough for a couple outlets and some lights i run compressor sawzall and circular saw now problem
