Sweet build. Just put a 2023 Pike Select 150 (black/silver) on my Stumpjumper. It is a great fork and it looks slick too. I think it is stiffer and lighter than the Fox 34 that came stock and I gained 10mm of travel and 35mm stanchions.

@@ShreddingSpree This is such an awesome video of a rad, well designed bike. I would love to know your thoughts on how the Eponym and Rallye compare to each other. I am set on a Dawley frame but trying to decide which one. I live in Bentonville and looking for a rowdy Hardtail. I appreciate your content sir!
@ShreddingSpree
@ShreddingSpree Год назад
@@johnnymotox1 the comparison is in the works! I actually rode this a Rallye in Bentonville this year and it was great. The Eponym would crush Bentonville too honestly. They’re both modern geo bikes that are fun to pedal and handle chunk really well. I think your choice would boil down to your preference on wheel size. Do you want the jumpy playfulness of 27.5? Or the speed and rollover of 29”?
@johnnymotox1
@johnnymotox1 Год назад
@@ShreddingSpree Thanks so much. I am currently on a 27.5 Yeti and you just helped me seal the deal. I am looking for jumpy payfulness and most smiles per mile vs speed. Keep on doing what your doing man, i love your content and choice in bikes!

Thanks for the PSA! Unfortunately I’ve been misusing that term (according to you) when referencing suspension/ride quality for the last 20+ years so it’s probably to engrained to change! 😂 luckily everyone still seems to know what I’m talking about but nonetheless, I preemptively apologize for all my future mispronunciations!

What Reach length did you choose/go for, & what is your height? Looking at sizing up this type of bike (kudos to Dawley Bikes too).
@ShreddingSpree
@ShreddingSpree Год назад
I’m 5’10” and I went with a 445 reach. For my riding style I feel like it’s long enough to feel stable at higher speeds but still short enough to feel like a snappy, compact trail 🔫
@james.shafiei
@james.shafiei Год назад
Thanks for the vid, bike looks sick. I’m building up a 27.5 party bike too and I’m just wondering what length seat tube and reach you went with as it will change the angle of the top tube and look of the frame. Cheers!
@ShreddingSpree
@ShreddingSpree Год назад
445 reach. 390 seat tube. 👍🏼
@dawleybikes2015
@dawleybikes2015 Год назад
Hey, hope you don’t mind me chiming in here. If you were looking at one of our frames then the general silhouette of the frame is maintained regardless of the seat tube length and reach (they do vary but only slightly). Also we can do a model of your chosen geometry both to show the full picture geometry-wise and errr the actual full picture 😅 so our customers can see what their frame will look like.

I just had Berd lace up my Hadley hubs to wide aluminum RaceFace ARC rims. I was wondering, do you use CushCore with your Berd wheels? I'm always using CushCore but I don't want to take away the softer feel that Berd spokes with translate. Please advise
@ShreddingSpree
@ShreddingSpree Год назад
I personally do not run Cush core. But I don’t think Cush core would reduce the dampening effect that the spokes have so I’d think you’re good to go.
@hardmtnbiker
@hardmtnbiker Год назад
@@ShreddingSpree thanks. I might start without CC at first, but see your point. The dampening effect is from the Berd spokes and that remains the same with or without CC. CC just changes the feel of the tires absorbing shock.
