@@thisismygear I'm totally with you, model S owner - never going back. For me it's the closing bed on the CT which is the big difference, you can have a lot of stuff in there piled quite high and have it closed and locked.

Thank you Lars, we are very lucky, that " they don't make them like they used to anymore" quipped Jay Leno laughing. The real tragedy probably is that we would have had to wait another 100 years to produce this beast for all seasons and terrain if Elon Dream team wasn't created. 2 million reservation with a deposit is not a joke, but evidences how unsatisfied were the consumers with the old manufacturers production and designs. What next? The shocking $25.000 Jeweler that will probably fetch sight unseen at least 8 million reservation with a deposit. My family alone will be ready for 3 of them. I think the down hill battle to produce 20 million EV for Tesla by 2030 is already happening, and with it an eventual $5.000 stock price. It is evident that the competition threw their hands in the air frustrated at their inability to worry Tesla in the least. But I honestly hope that somehow they will all be able to survive, if they will be able to forget their pride and licence Tesla know how in AI OTA , advanced software, sophisticated hardware and most efficient production processes, because unless they do that the future for them all at the moment seems to be very bleak.

The most hilarious thing around the Cybertruck stirrup is that virtually every single Tesla hater seems to be convinced that those who hate Tesla and Elon would be needed to buy Cybertrucks in order that the Cybertruck would be a success. The best thing I can say about the cyber truck is that it’s a huge shot in the arm for EV’s, especially among young men, arguably the most important car demographic. Both the Rivian R1T and Ford Lightning should benefit for those desiring a more conventional and traditional looking pick up truck.

I did not really think that through before, but the automatic tonneau is a genius move, as it makes the truck bed similar to a trunk and thus it has the advantages of an SUV and of a truck combined. I think there will be very high demand, as a lot of non truck people will buy one. For the majority of truck people it is also the best offer, only for the few who really need the side access to the bed other models might be more useful.

In Australia, we call a pick-up a ute. I love having a 4 door ute. When you get your cybertruck, after one year you will not be able to manage without it.

Lars, Thanks for the video on the Cybertruck. I agree with most of what you've said about how innovative Tesla has been, but I don't think the stainless steel Tesla is using is a totally special formulation. There are plenty of 300 series steels that are special enough. In some ways I'm glad I'm 1.2Millionth in line for the Cybertruck, because all the bugs will be worked out before I get mine and the steel will either be wearing well or Tesla will have reformulated the stainless steel. In the meantime, I'll enjoy my Model Y.

There’s one VERY major thing wrong with the Cybertruck: I can’t get one, (yet). I live in Australia and it’s not even confirmed for here yet. Hopefully though, steer by wire will make a RHD version MUCH easier, so pleeease Elon, send it downunder. 🇦🇺

Well I can’t afford any Tesla but I don’t hate, I like them. I just can’t comprehend why so many Americans have fostered so much hatred towards Tesla and Elon Musk. Sure there are extremely obnoxious fanatics and such, but the reality is that this is a desirable vehicle. When was the last time any brand was wanted this bad by millions of people? Exactly never. I’ve never seen preorders by the million on any car and the same happened with Model Y and 3 and here we go again in a high demand for Cybertruck. It will take them many years to satisfy these 2 Mil orders however.

Four years ago I liked Cybertruck, but couldn’t imagine being able to afford one. Now I want one but I have to convince my wife to let me buy one. When I do get to purchase one I am sure after she rides in it I will be buying a second right away. Sometimes you don’t know what use new tech is. Once you get it, you can’t live without it!

I'm actually happy it has taken so long for them to start production, and that it will be another year or two before my reservation comes up. I can actually sort of afford the AWD one now, but will be able to comfortably afford the Cyberbeast in a couple of years, and by then the inevitable early production issues will have been ironed out, and potentially have better batteries.

BestinTesla - sorry but, even the BEST wireless charging (Radio Frequency) is still SLOWER than the BEST Wired level 2 HOME charger. (240v 80A) . this will Always be the case, Physics . its also more Expensive technology , Cheaper to just place L2 Destination charger w/ Magic Dock at Diner, Business & Shopping . Grocery store can Afford Multiple units of L2 Destination chargers. Energy Utility & TESLA can provide FREE Chargers to Business/Lodging. USA covers cost of Install also.

Why? What is different? Baja or Off road means higher suspension settings. Should be softer too but I don’t think they can adjust the dampers. But what should it do in snow?

There’s no special mode necessary for snow except for snow tires. That’s what traction control and AWD is for. A front wheel drive Toyota Camry will out handle any 4x4 on regular all season tires. Especially when braking as all cars brake all 4 wheels. 👍

BestinTesla - current CT factory in TX is operating only 1/4 of Total capacity. they are only working w/ one Machine and have another Machine coming soon. they can also use Model Y casting machine (switch Dies). but only need 1x 9000T press for Rear. most impressive part , most parts and tools are made in - house. the Steel comes from Netherlands , made to Tesla spec.

Did anybody else notice that the amount of trolls in RU-vid comment sections of Cybertruck videos is often close to 50%. It is insane, legacy auto is so shocked. Who could it be, Ford or GM, it must be a company that builds trucks, because for the German carmakers (eg. VW) it is not that much of a threat till now.

If Auto could go part way to competing by using electric transmission. Engine drives a generator which powers motors in the wheels. Add a small battery to smooth out peak loads and you have the best of both worlds. Over time, you increase the battery and shrink the engine. Nissan has started along this path. Will anyone else?

I want to know what type of person is ordering them as in rural or small town or metropolitan. I live in the country and they wouldn't work out here because of the lack of charging stations and vast distances. put that with a truck bed that is too deep to reach into from right behind the cab or replace with a tool box. most yuppies from cities don't understand that a truck is a tool for many people not a toy. there is no way I could haul hay in the back of it. I expect that you will see these in suburbs bought by guys who want a toy not a tool. these construction ads are a joke.

Hey Lars, US sold 10 Millions Trucks & 6 Millions SUV in 2022' and Ford sold 60% of the trucks in US on that year. Now the Cybertruck is here, with the amount of interest gathered so far since official introduction or delivery and the number of orders in place, can you imagine the amount of business this truck will bring to Tesla. Most pickups don't have a closing rear bed, that makes it more like a car for me. Rivian's closes (sometimes) but doesn't then have the height inside.

Okay time to get real though they have over 2 million reservations that was when everybody thought the truck was going to be 30,000 40,000 in 60,000 now that the truck cost so much more I seriously doubt that they're going to go through 2 million people. I think it's going to be cut down to half maybe 1 million. We will know if they fulfilled all the orders because some people ordered the cybertruck after the debut a week ago and if those people start to receive their truck next year then you know at least a million people backed out

NOPE , unlikely . CT has Dedicated line already in TX. next Factory will be CHYNA and Berlin, both are Export hubs. it will be made Smaller , like a Light Pickup Truck w/ Full cab. (4).
