Thanks for doing a spotlight on the Blue Magnums. These are a criminally under-rated tractor, especially as they set the stage for the new New Holland styling. That CDC Cummins is also a treat. Love the pug nose, too. Reminds me of the old 8000/8600 and 9000/9600 series.
This is terrific, very informative. I feel Ford New Holland tractors are vastly overlooked. I've always been a fan since seeing their excellent design at the farm show in 1994 .
We had a TG230 with supersteer for a few years with plans to purchase others to replace a few JD 8300s. I put a lot of hours on that tractor. The supersteer was said to add 1500 lbs weight I believe and provide better weight distribution for traction. The turning radius was nice, but that's where it ended. This was the roughest riding tractor I have ever operated. We added weights, removed weights but could never dial it in. It was sold with a lot of promises, better fuel consumption than the 8300s, better comfort, but it never lived up to any of it. It just didn't compare to the old 8300's. It was a great day when she went down the road for the last time. We bought a T8 300 a few years later, that was a great NH.
We run one in West aus with a 120 foot 5000L Hydraboom, 12 ton Marshall fertiliser spreader and a 20 ton Trufab Grain King Chaser bin turns so sharp it's easy to get into tight areas fast

Back in the day we ran two TG255's on our custum farming company here in Holland. Beast of a tractor! Big Bold bleu, as New_Holland used to promote them. The super steer was a nice option but these TG's also steer sharp on the standard axle because of the wide wheel base. the 18 speed power-shift only could get to 38kmh al revved up. New Holland later replaced the TG serie for the 8000 Serie that came with a 19 speed power-shift that could drive 50kmh. Also very impressive was the 11ton lift capacity of the 3-point hitch. Normally these tractors idle at 900rpm, when starting(if they start) in freezing weather they only bark at 500Rpm.
Look after them and keep them. Super machine. Ford got it spot on with the genesis tractors as they did with many of their models from the 80s and 90s. Over here in Ireland we still haves loads of 10 series 6610, 7610, 7810s earning their keep. Bullet proof. Keep going on forever.
We had a TG210, for 2-3 years. It was a good tractor for us, but we outgrew it's hydraulic capabilities. It had over 12,000 hours, when we got it. It's life before us was on a good sized dairy, in Northern Illinois, running the feed mixer. Engine had never been touched, according to the servicing dealer. It did let us down once, though. Mom had just pulled on to the road with a couple empty wagons, and went to upshift, and it wouldn't go at all. The splines in the shaft off the engine crankshaft, finally let go with that many hours.
Same steering set up as there orchard tractors. It's definitely interesting set up and something different no one else has done and been doing for awhile now.
Its wear parts on the pivot that is the killer. I worked in service at a CNH dealer. They had to repair a few of them and it became costly. Also as of 2 years ago CNH was not supporting the Genisis and Buhler was not doing so well either. The GVM Prowler sprayers use the same cab, with the AC parts getting difficult to get.
I loved the Genesis with supersteer, we had one 8970 on demo on our farm when I was a kid, and I begged my father for one for years, sadly we did not have the money for it..I opted to sneak pictures and reviews and videos to dad of the TW35 as well, I wanted him to sell our heavily modified 9700 with the TW-35 engine in it, to not have 4wd with that kind of hp on the axles was pretty useless on our muddy and hard clay grounds But, the horsepower was for our big Cranab crane and brush hog from Slagkraft with chains If you want to see some nice brush cutters, check them out, they are awesome and chops down really big brush and trees
Great video, as usual. That super steer option is very interesting, too bad it was not more widely used. Would be nice option on lawn tractors. Must be expensive to manufacture and service. Reliability issues maybe? Anyway, Thanks BTP for such excellent videos. I enjoy watching them. From SE MN.
@@bigtractorpower 4 wheel steer didn't take off either, since zero turn lawn equipment. I have seen some tractors with 4 wheel steer, even automobiles and pickups, but not many. Gota be a profit thing.
Someone was definitely thinking outside of the box when they designed that front axle steering system. I wish I could make that modification to my Toro 522xi garden tractor but the mower deck is in the way.
I'm sure the longer wheel base helps when pulling high speed implements! We won't pull anything fast without our ifs 8r. It's got to be pretty smooth for a 7000 series John deer

@@bigtractorpower yeah. It’s gonna be interesting. He’s looking to convert the John Deere 569 premium to 1,000 RPM because it’s currently 540 but most every PTO powered implement they have is 1,000
I really like the looks of NH tractors and while I understand the reasoning of the ST axle, I am not a fan of the way that it makes the tractor look. The non ST tractors are sharp! IMO.

@@bigtractorpower our tiles didn't have a vent like that. Just an occasional hole that I was very good at hitting. Dad said I was really good at finding the tile holes in the field. Hahaha. Never broke anything.
