@albarron4022 well congratulations! They are absolutely my favorite, but I warn you now if that gun is out of tune, try not to get discouraged it’s pretty common, but I have a bunch of content and videos that can help you get it tuned properly and upgrade it however you might like and once it is tuned properly You won’t find a better shooting more reliable gun for the money! Of course, that’s my opinion but you let me know what you think of it!
I have a couple of videos on my channel showing just that. I can’t remember all the info but there still up if you need. Basically any Glock 17 with TLR -1 light holster should work with minimal to know modifications ( modifications= heating to tighten fitment with kydex)
I’m sorry my friend, I’m not sure what’s the issue, how did you charge the battery? Can you try a different battery that you know is charged & working ? The Positive goes in first and I’m not sure if it will work without the battery sleeve or not. Check to see if the light is locked out.
@@americantrucker9813 Thanks for the response! I've ordered two off Amazon, I can't get either to work. I made sure the battery was + terminal in first, tried with and without the sleeve, tried to unlock it out, everything I can think of. Seems unlikely that I'd get two duds from amazon, but i suppose possible
You’re welcome! Make sure you watch my updated video just so you have all of the information it does have a downside but I bought two of them and I love them both I will work around it
If this thing had holster support I'd be all over it. I want more lithium ion batteries in wmls, specifically handgun lights. Looks like I'll have to wait for the cloud defensive handgun light to be able to get any holster support.
It’s actually pretty compatible with any holster that works for the stream light Tlr-1 I actually i’ve grown very fond of the light! It’s Rock solid and I order a bunch of replacement batteries from amazon they last pretty long and are rechargeable but I slow charge @ .5 amp so that makes them last longer. It’s very bright definitely a True rated light.
Update: The different rail attachments are not different sizes but different positioning attachments which enables you to slide the light forward or backwards! So a feature I have not seen on other lights.
What feature are you talking about? I have several OLight and they’ve only ever came with a GL rail & 1913 rail attachment on my Valkyrie Turbo, Valkyrie Pro, & Baldr Pro. As well as Rifle lights like the OLight Odin which Is AMAZING !!! And a OLight Seeker 3 which is also AMAZING. Point is ive supported OLight for years and own many of their Lights and none have that feature
@@americantrucker9813 the feature to adjust the lights front to back placement. PL Mini series. I wish they would make that connection standard among all their lights.
@@FireFighterChen yes sorry I don’t have that one but that is crazy that they would have that option on some and not others I would appreciate such a feature but honestly the ones I have fit just right anyways so I don’t know that that would make a difference but I will tell you on this light it works quite well because I tried it on my ZEV and the light sat way too far forward and by allowing the rail to move back I was able to attach it to the very first slot nearest the trigger guard so it fit perfectly!
@@tbeastlift1876 you are very welcome. My concealed carry holster is a Kydex holster from Amazon titled. Glock 17 with OLight Baldr pro. And my range holster is the Orpaz series light bearing holster kit It has several different attachments like on the belt drop down from the belt and a drop leg holster as well as quick detach, which is the one that I use because it is very convenient when getting in and out of the car.
I have no issue with the light... I just can't see buying that, when for 40 bucks more you can get a TLR1 HL, and not have to hunt a holster... Because EVERYBODY and their brother makes a holster for the TLR series.
That’s a very good reason! I bought two simply because I’m a huge fan of Holosun and the light fits flush on my prodigy and I preferred a flush fitting light and I make my own holsters so that wasn’t a concern of mine.
@@LetsgoBrandon2023 it is much smaller than both of those, so yes, it would fit. The problem I am talking about is that it is almost impossible to get a formfitting snug holster with this white because of the design the shape is the issue
Well its a brand new light, holsters will take a little bit but assuming the light is even mildly popular holsters will be relatively easy to find. But 18350>dual cr123s, the current/next generation of pistol lights will completely phase out dual cell cr123 lights.
So if I wanted to get this model for the 5" to be closer to in line with the barrel would it be possible with the rail bits it comes with? I have a wild 2 and even that sits about .1" behind the muzzle.
So I think it would come up short still or the controls will be too far from the trigger guard that it might look. Strange but idk I don’t have anyway to check for you but I do know that the Surefire x300 fits perfectly flush and looks excellent on your 5inch model and that is the light that I would get if I had the 5 inch
I modified the original plate that came with it so basically a pain that I wouldn’t recommend simply because I destroyed the original plate and scratched up my base of my optic pretty good so I couldn’t recommend doing anything half assed I shouldn’t have but I was being impatient and figured I’d never use the original plate.
I love holosun products. How are you liking the prodigy? When the bugs seem to be worked out, and plates for rmr are available I'll probably be snagging one.
The Prodigy is amazing realistically it is an STIGEN2 clone. Everything is backwards compatible in my opinion there are no bugs to work out. If you scoured through the comments on my channel, you’ll see the vast majority of buyers have had zero issues there will always be a few as with any production firearm, but that is why you purchase with an American company that gives you a lifetime warranty
Looks great! I have a Hex Dragonfly on mine and love the way it looks, and it has worked well for me. But if I end up needing a replacement red dot, this is definitely one on my list.
If I could go back, I probably would’ve just got the hex dragonfly. I was looking at them but I really really prefer green and that is why I didn’t go through with it.
The only flush fitting light was the old Inforce APL unfortunately the new Wild 2 is too short I deal with the same dilemma, I bought the Holosun for my Prodigy also
what screws did use to replace the original grip screws? I ordered some STI grip screws but had to shave them down a bit cause they were too long, not sure if you did the same
Sorry I just seen this I ordered a replacement screw set from atlasgunworks.com along with the trigger they carry a lot of parts for this model and I stripped the original screws the very first time I took the gun down it’s called the grip bushing screw kit it’s like 20 something bucks but it also comes with that tiny little front flip screw basically it’s worth it to have it just for when you lose that tiny front screw on the grip which isn’t hard because they are tough to get tight
@@americantrucker9813 I got a trigger from them too , trigger is breaking under 3 lbs after fine tuning , thank you for the info ! Those factory screws are easy to strip lol
I’m very thankful for their trigger and other parts I only wish we could get the Optic plates and some replacements Grips just in case. But your welcome that’s why I made these videos. I didn’t want everyone being fooled into believing the Prodigy is junk
@@americantrucker9813 I’m a gun salesman and I work on a lot of 1911’s so I wasn’t scared of the “horror” stories people were saying. I had my issues at first but once I able to get through 200 rounds , it kept running. My only complaint is the same as yours , Springfield let us down with the optic plate lol. The only parts I changed out was the disconnector and I put a different sear spring that I tuned to my liking. The original disconnecter was a tad too long so the gun would hang up on it. I had the most trouble fitting the trigger onto the frame , but after that and a good internal polish job , my gun is buttery smooth. I appreciate you telling the truth and not bashing on the gun cause it’s not an STI. This gun gets a lot of bad rep from people that don’t know too much about 1911’s
@@fern62798 it definitely has gotten an undeserving amount of crap as if it’s a High Point .45acp lol but honestly RU-vids algorithm or whatever is the cause Definitely promotes Negative videos especially about guns everywhere it seems so I think a lot of people just get used to saying negative things for attention not that’s not everyone you know what I mean. The prodigy is also the only 1911 I have that the entire inside and internal parts were cerakoted once I either wore down the coating things worked much smoother.
Thank you very much and I did the cerakote my self with my air fryer to cure lol I’m new to cerakote that was my second time doing it but I’m definitely addicted! Cerakote is my favorite coating for a few reasons mainly the ease to which I can do it at home for dirt cheep.
@@Eric_the_miserable_midget I didn’t either, but I ordered the starter kit for somewhere around 175 bucks from cerakote.com they do next day air shipping for 10 bucks and I’ve ordered like 4 times and it’s usually here the next day, depending on when you place the order, I bought a 1.5 gallon air compressor and I use an old air fryer to cure and they have a lot of different colors and stuff. It’s a lot of fun but I have got addicted to doing it so I keep painting everything.
Looks great. Looking for a light that this for my 4 1/4 . By the way, I took my new prodigy out this weekend and shot it. Ran great no problems. Put a hundred rounds through it.
Thank you and So I recommend Amazon the seller is Kenzie Optics! That’s where I purchased my 2 Holosun PIDs they only have 13 or so left so not sure how long they will last but i’m happy to hear that! Do you love your prodigy as much as I do ?
@@americantrucker9813 I absolutely do. I’ve been wanting a double stack 1911 for years but has always been out of my price range. Almost bought a Staccato 6 months ago, glad I waited. I also work on all of my own guns so I really don’t mind upgrading parts if needed. So far it shuts so good!
Awesome I’m glad to hear it and I’m right there with you there was no way to justify buying one of those guns at those ridiculous prices so this was a godsend and my favorite part of this platform is the available parts are very cheap and easy to upgrade!
No offense but in my opinion only an idiot would press their Gun against a bad guy by choice that would be so far from tactically sound , if your referring to some struggle when you have no choice than I’d say that probably has some merit but your gun should work fine either way (training should build muscle memory to pull that elbow back and the muzzle almost directly beside your chest away from the bad guy In a struggle) and I like a flush fitting light for Comfort (appendix Holster) , when the light is forward of the muzzle it gets smoked black and becomes almost useless, and also I think it gives a much better sleek Look as well. That’s my opinion However you prefer it great God Bless you and more power to you !
@@4435rickymartin unfortunately no I have two on back order still but I got tired of waiting and I didn’t want to buy a different optic so I modified the original plate that came with it to accept my Holosun 407K
@@americantrucker9813 I would like to see a video of how you did it. I have a Holosun 407c waiting on my bench to go on it. I know my RDS is the same pattern as the RMR.
Well at least the light is dependable 🤣 Just blind them to death when that thing has an FTF FTE....etc. lol....and don't say shit experienced in person
