@earldelsanto He used 2 "EPS" (Enclosed Pistol sight) which is what holosun has named that particular reddot. Then he used "GS" which is Glock store, the channel your watching is "The Glock Store" Not sure what out of that was "too much to understand"
I really like the Glock Store too. I have a regular G19 Gen5. Had Lenny's store make mine to take RDS. Went with the SCS footprint. Really awesome people there.
It fully recharges the 20k hour of battery life, with 20 hours of direct sun exposure(there is a chart of charge/discharge and the different rates and conditions of each in the manual). It charges way faster than it can use the battery long as it occasionally gets exposed.
@@joshuamandelbaum8668 it means every 20k hours, it needs a total of 20 hours of exposure to have recharged completely. 1 hour at a range? That's 1,000 hours of battery recharged.
@@jason200912I just put my g19 in the window sill occasionally when it’s sunny out and I have nothing to do, will let it sit there all day and I do that every few months like one time, never has died
I put mine on a 365 Legion about the same time this video launched. Small, and smooth. Fits great. Very rapidly changes to the surrounding environment light level.
@@buffalo7810 it overhangs half the distance as the takedown lever sticks out, or about 1 credit card thickness. It doesn't seem like an issue at all and I honestly hadn't noticed til you asked. And it's a non-issue as far as iwb is concerned.
@@diegolainfiesta You can see and feel if it’s not flat enough. Just have to be careful not to let the dremel get away from you and hit the slide. The most difficult part was filing the screw down so it doesn’t hit the extractor rod.
@@ThatMailMan thanks man! I have directly mounted two red dots, but I went to a machinist. I was also there during the process, he used quite special equipment to make sure the milling was flat. Good that you manage to do it with a Dremmel.
The question I have is why they don't offer this new SCS Carry in a Glock version that directly mounts to the Glock MOS like the regular (non) Carry version does? I want basically the Glock SCS MOS red dot, but enclosed.
Respectfully, Henkel is the parent company. Loctite is the brand. Threadlocker is the product. When a fastener is removed, wire brush the old Threadlocker off. Degrease the fastener and threaded borehole. Observe expiration date on Threadlocker to ensure it isn’t expired. Shake well. For a threaded hole that is through-and-through, such as a nut, you can apply the Threadlocker to the fastener. For a hole that is accessible from one side only, the Threadlocker should be applied inside the threaded borehole prior to inserting the fastener. Final torque should be achieved within 15 minutes. Any longer than that and the fastener should be removed and the process repeated.
Wow - it's wider than I thought on the Glock - sticking out on both sides. I use the 507K (same footprint, and same size I believe) on my Springfield Hellcat OSP (I machined the rear recoil lugs off and lowered the front lugs) and it's the same width. Man you're new MOS plate is nice! When I get my G19 gen 5 MOS (I carry a Gen 3 when I'm not carrying the Hellcat), I may go that way.
I got mine scs-carry for $230. Originally 400+! But only thing that sucks is. I'm having trouble finding correct plate and mounting screws. I have rmr cut on glock slide. But had to chop the zev post then now I bought over 15 torx screws. And still haven't found the correct thread. Also the mounting plate screw doesn't even have anything easily findable on website. Best do your research. All I know is eps, 407k & 507k are same floor mount. RMR To these plates are hard to find correct mount screws to the plate of the rmr slide.
Very disappointed the kit includes 3 pairs of screws, but none work on the right side for the G43X install (with the included plate). Perhaps 1-2 threads too long. Lenny fail. Any ideas? Otherwise happy with the optic. C’mon man! Update: based on another comment, I called Holosun customer service and within a few minutes, they are sending two shorter screws to accommodate (only the right side needs the shorter screw). Great response from Holosun!
Great vid Lenny! I purchased the SCS Carry and a K Plate to put on my G47 MOS. Awesomeness!! Co-witnesses with factory height sights on lower 1/4 of the optic, which is where I want it. Couldn’t be happier with my new setup.
It’s a shame the SCS carry isn’t like the SCS-Mos where it can be directly mounted to the slide. Would have been perfect. That way you have and all round carry optic. 1 it’s enclosed, 2 it’s much smaller and 3 it mounts right onto the slide allowing you to keep standard height sights. The additional plate here just doesn’t make the end result look genuine compared to a SCS mos installment
@@asiansrule45 ahhhh okay interesting. Would be nice if the could somehow make it work to fit it onto the slide same way as the basic SCS mos. Definitely would be me go to optic if that be the case
In removing the plate that is 1/16th inch or 1.5mm it not only lowered the red dot site it caused a problem with the screws. I tried that with my red dot. Using a Dremel tool it was easy to remove the two protruding posts. The trouble was replacing the two screws. They were too long and interfered with firing the 43X
@@DavidLLambertmobile I think I'm going to o try one tungsten rod and def the steel rod in my gen 3 frame with gen 4 slide..I screwed up an bought a lone wolf adapter but those require lone wolf guide rod ..I like Glock stores because it used the factory' rod but I do want to try the steel rod
Holy Cow Lenny!!! That K plate is beautiful. How perfect !! That fit is tighter than a glove. It grew right out of the slide. Amazing quality and Innovation! I’ll take 2
That K adapter for the 19 and larger mos Glocks is a smart move. It’s the same concept that SS did with their MR, XR, and DR920’s so that people could use the same k print optics that are standard on the small CR920.
I am a fan of the holosun 507k. Holosun makes decent optics, however i disagree with the statement that holosun is the innovator of the circle dot sight. Eotech says hi. There might even be on before Eotech, but im not aware of one
@@enispenvy9174yeah not to knock the video, but the "doughnut of death" is totally Eotech. I run Eotech on my rifles, which is why I chose the Holosun 507k for my P365 XMacro. My wife likes the 407k with just the dot.......I just can't do it 😢
I love the idea of the SCS Carry - been itching to get in on an enclosed emitter for a while now - but I don't see it on the 10 Day Cut+Optic Combo. Do you plan to be adding that shortly?
If you have have a G19 or G17 they already make a direct fir SCS, and if you need a plate go ahead and use the Delta Point Pro plate and mount the SCS 320
I think what you meant glock doesn't do their slide cuts deep enough to cover witness. Because it does on companies that actually thought their optics mount through instead of doing the minimum
Hmmm. If I had a G23 Gen 3 milled for the SCS Carry could the bottom of the OPTIC be milled/shaved a bit as well to cuddle in tighter and get maybe 1/4 co-witness with standard height sights?
I finally got a red dot on my Glock and it’s nice but I need training. I’m so used to iron sights, the red dot thing is alien to me. If a firearm has a stock or brace, I love RDS’.
I appreciate the vidoes. So do the Trijicon RMR HD mount to the Glock MOS without a plate. I guess I just don't understand what mounts without an adaptor plate to the Gen 5 Glock 19's?
I am a big fan of the Holosun SCS Optics, this is great addition to that lineup, will definitely be picking one up for my 43x, running the RMSC now, but I prefer the circle green dot.....awesome video Lenny
I'm running that SCS on my G47 I absolutely love it. And I love the fact that you don't need the plate and you can co-witness your original factory sights
@@garrettlundy3959 I can't mill a slide. But I might be able to diy the posts off with a Dremel like the poors. At which point I'd like to know what screws to utilize.
@@L1Z1O Shorter screws can be purchased on line or at a hardware store. Take the longer ones in so they know the size. Or disassemble the gun and take the slide with you. An alternative is thin washers under the screw head.
im a californian resident, I have a Gen3 Glock 23 40 cal. Is it possible to mill the optic on my gun and not be in trouble? unfortunately, here is Cali, the regulations are kind of tight!
I tried to cut my VP9 for a 507K but ATEi screwed up my cut and cut it for an RMR cc and they coated over all my slide’s markings. ATEi told me the CC window is fractionally smaller than the 507k. I looked at both when I got my slide back and it was quite a bit smaller. Don’t use ATEi. I also cut my P-10F with Jagerwerks for a 509T and they did a much better job.
I dont like how wide it is. And everyone I know seems to have some kind of seal failure on their Holosun within 6months to a year of regular range use. Then they fill up with moisture and dust which turns to ice in the winter. That being said I'm probably going to buy an AEMS anyway because it has removable covers and seals.
If it's made for the 43 as you stated, why does it require a plate or milling. It isn't made for the 43 if it requires anything other than direct mounting.
You're pretty much right. But it's more so glocks fault for choosing a bad footprint. But to defend glock the rmsc footprint was the best option if not the only real option when the 43x mos dropped. But it's an easy modification to get it to direct mount. The holosun K footprint is basically the same as rmsc. But slightly modified. Now that I think about it, it's actually kinda dumb of holosun to not just use the rmsc footprint it would only mean slightly more time on the drill.
Also lenny runs glockstore so he's always going to point out which glock is best for whatever products he's showcasing. But sig on the other hand I'm pretty sure has the correct footprint to mount directly.
You’re making way too much sense for the firearms/pistol optic industry sir… Once the industry figures out why Picatinny was so great for optics mounting on rifles it’ll be better for consumers, unfortunately right now they’re in that whole early Pic vs Weaver vs other ridiculous timeline where they’re all playing around with all these different footprints instead of just deciding on one universally “best” one 🙄
The EPS has manual controls and a changeable battery. The SCS (Solar Charging Sight) on the other hand is automatic brightness adjusting and does not have a removable battery.
If you install this without a plate you need a very short screw on the right. The right hand screw goes down into the extractor rod channel. A full length screw interferes with extraction. It will actually bend the rod. An alternative is to put a couple of small thin washers around the right hand screw.
Wait, weren’t the 4 studs created because in the past there were only the front two studs and after shooting several rounds the pressure of the recoil was sheering off the retaining screws?
My only concern is how long that SCS internal battery will last. If it’s like ANY battery technology over the last century…. It will fail and it won’t be easily replaced.
I guess I can officially stop holding my breathe waiting for Holosun to make an enclosed optic that can direct mount to stock 43x mos slide WITHOUT A PLATE.
The battery lasts 20K hours. 365 days x 24 hrs is only 8,769 hours. One or two trips out the safe or waist band per year will keep the battery alive indefinitely...or at least until the internal battery eventually degrades and fails.
If Holosun makes this with Primary Arms' ACSS reticle I would likely buy this. I always mill the rear notches off of a Glock slide to fit the Holosun optics without the need of a plate.
Why does the slide finish look like that? Are they not using the same coating on the 43X MOS as the rest of the glock pistols? When did Glock change this?
Loved the direct fit (and matching slide cuts!) of the SCS. Was waiting for the slimline for the 43X/48 …. And it’s a generic K footprint that needs a plate (or slide surgery). Pass. Bought a direct fit Cyelee Cat X Pro instead.
My only issue with my two SCS MOS is that it's not shake awake. In a SHTF situation I don't have time to be turning the sight on so the cowitness is necessary and really makes the sight moot except for a range day.
@@derrickburnett8703 Viewed the Sage. Turned on the SCS and returned it to the case. Has been to the range and back in the case couple times and still works. Appreciate your comment very much. Thanks
You don’t turn it off. The whole point is that the SCS has a supercapacitor, not a traditional battery. You leave it on at all times and it will be on forever. Even if it’s in total darkness for 30,000 hours and it runs out of charge, as soon as that solar panel is touched by light the dot will turn on. The supercapacitor charges faster than it discharges. It will never be dead if there’s any ambient light
@@Toxic9813 the question mark was sarcasm. Hence why I hold them to check out the sage dynamics review. Side note, the new scs carry models have a forward facing light sensor to better adjust when aiming from a dark environment into a more well lit environment. Looking to pick one up once they’re more readily available.
