Knifekits.com sent me a big package of their new Holstex material. Knowing very little about it and having absolutely zero experience working with it, I decided to jump in, make a holster, and share that process with you guys. Since making this video, I've been in touch with them and discussed any problems I may have encountered and they shared some good information with me. A follow-up video will be forthcoming.

looks cool I like the carbon fiber, wish you made for the 19 lol. I like watching how fast you do things now to your earlier videos. you can tell you been making a lot holsters.

Just a heads up they say you can use the that plastic film to protect what your forming as apposed to blue tape. Great video!

You could allways shoot it with some duracoat if u don't like the glossiness

My fiance says, "It's like a cooking show... but for men." So true. They love their cooking shows and we love baking plastics for holsters... I told her not to judge us lol I see you got the wife to film, life is so much better with a person working the camera and not worrying about manipulating the tripod.

This is excellent! Since they don't make a range of holsters for my LC9 I want to order some Kydex (or holstex now?) and see what I can do. What kind of foam are you using in that press, and where could I get it? I have a fairly substantial workshop as it is and that seems like the only thing that's holding me back. Thanks!!!!!

@tyrs8 I've really warmed up to the .060 thickness material as opposed to the .080 thicker stuff. Once I got a handle on controlling the temperature, the .060 became much easier to work with. It looks great, is extremely light weight, easy to work with, low profile, and gives incredible definition. It may be more flexible than the .080, but I don't think that's a problem.

hey Jon, Great vid. Im Still waiting on my kydex to get here but Im starting to wonder about this new material. That carbon fiber would make great off duty stuff for LEO's I used to buy all my stuff carbon fiber so on light duty days I could wear it if we were just hangin around the PD for training or court. I'll have to buy a few pieces of it to play with. What do you think abuot the thinner thickness?

Was watching one of Jeff's vids and seen some of your work. I have yet to find an appendix carry holster for my Glock 20. Well, one that I could carry appendix with. I'm a fan of inch and a half snap belt loop holsters and was wondering if you could make me an appendix carry holster with 2 of the soft loops on it. Figured I'd ask. Great video.
