Safe areas of forest in Borneo are hard to find, but fortunately Lone Dröscher Nielsen of the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation has found an area which she thinks will be a good home for Mama Abut and her baby.

I know this is a video filmed over a decade ago, but I hope Mama Abut and her baby were successfully released and are happy. It was so devastating to see their near death condition when they were found and the rehabilitation center did a wonderful job nursing them both back to full health. I have never seen a rescued adult orangutan in a more deplorable condition than what Mama Abut was. Much love to the people that rescue these magnificent animals.

Better maybe to least a good amount of forest so that no one will ever plan on marking it as a potential palm tree farm.....and thats were we come in.

I know that they know what they’re doing, both the orangs and the rescuers, but I wish when they released them into the wild they gave them a bunch of fruit for the road. Ya know? Like why not just drop a shitload bananas or papayas and durin down to just to give them a good start?
