in 1968 you could buy a new home and or land with $500.00 down from Henry Dingus Realty. I purchased 5 acres and put a double-wide on it. Total purchase price was $35,000. Sold it in 1985 for $250.000

Buyer beware "Lender of their choice" hmmm... did we not learn anything from the 2008 implode? If it is too good to be true it probably is. Due your own due diligence, title search, and get your own lender. You don't need any help spending your money.

Walk around the house. Look for cracks from the roofline to the foundation at ground level. Does the road or driveway have cracks? Walk around. look at the ground. Does the ground feel mushy with high and low areas. Do your research.

I lived in a beautiful home on a small lake. 2 fireplaces, huge Florida room...gorgeous kitchen with huge pantry. I am a clean freak and The bugs were so bad AND HUGE!! Couldn't wait to get back to Pa!!

Oh No!!! I never thought about the tropical bugs or critters!!! I live in NYC and we only have Roaches but No Other Bugs at all because all of The GIANT RATS eat them! But FLA BUGS!!! HUGE BUGS!!!!!! Live in western central Florida for 19 yrs now, everyone sprays for bugs, maybe you had more of a problem because of the lake, if you see bugs it's more in the summer when it's hot and when it rains heavily like a storm, just use a good brand spray and there's no problem, PA has it's own problems,lol

I lived in a home like this one in AtL. And I love this style. The next time I. Travel to Leesburg. I will stop by and check out the home. I really like Adams home builders. So this style is a fav.

I would rather have 3 bedrooms and rooms to be bigger, close off the 'den' area so it can be computer room, have an added pantry for dry goods in kitchen. In the neighborhood are there HOA fees, and is there a 'community building' or pool area to share within the community? To tie yourself to a neighborhood, there has to be more shown about the neighborhood as well. I also would do tile on all floors as well, easy to clean. Also to save on Electricity, make sure the A/C is not just the standard for that size home, as it IS cathedral ceilings where a lot of air goes & heat, so the size of the A/C unit is something to look at. Don't settle for basic, as you will pay for that in the end. It looks like a nice patio, heads up from a Floridian....make sure it has a fan or 2 installed and inclose it with screen, Florida is awful with insects,especially mosquitoes in the summertime,and love bugs twice a year. Also look into the size of your lot and what will be built next to you or behind you, might want to have those privacy fences put in as well.

This sounds EXACTLY like 2006/2007 all over again. $1000 down and we’ll put you in a McMansion. It’s ok if you only make $10 an hour. When your mortgage resets to $3800/ month don’t worry about a thing. People in America have very short memories.

It’s so surprising how many traps are set for us in America and how easily we step into those traps. Like credit card debt for example. I remember people who paid cash for everything. Most Americans and corporations in the US they join make me want to live in Madagascar with the lemurs in trees.

The problem is.... Leesburg! A total crap city. I once owned a place there and could not wait to get rid of it. Head a few minutes east to Mt. Dora, nicer with a very different vibe.

its 1000 down to hold the lot but you still have to put money down for closing costs down payment and mortgage the 1000 is just to hold the lot until you get in order to build

I'll NEVER finance a house again. Paid off my 30 year mortgage in 12.5 years over two years ago. Mortgage free for life. Don't give your money to the crooks at the bank. Study an amortization table and you will understand...

Yes! As a matter of fact, I used to live in beautiful Leesburg, and there is a huge lake/park with pool, and you can walk your alligator after 9 down by the water so he can make new friends!

High Home owners insurance premiums due to suspected sink holes....and the cost is probably in the $300,000 plus dollar range, so you will be paying off your mortgage long after you are 100 years old. 😹😹😹😹😹

You probably have to make an income of $100,000.00 or more a year to even be able to even get a house like this. What's the interest rate on them? Is it a fixed interest rate? How much is the monthly mortgage on them and the taxes on the property?

Let me see. Florida has the most sink holes in the USA. Florida has the most lightening strikes a year. Florida has some of the biggest roaches and ticks. Don't get me started on the hurricanes and gators. Great place to visit but living there can be a challenge.

Shelly just a word of advice a "sunkin" tub is not an above floor tub hence the word sunkin. That was a typical above floor alcove tub. Not a big deal but you'd sound smarter. Nice video though
