On a sunny spring day in May of 2013, Penn Rail Videos was on hand for yet another Lerro Productions photo charter.
This time, we were in Bucks County Pennsylvania along the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad. For this event, #40 was re-lettered to her Lancaster & Chester Railroad scheme. Lancaster & Chester was the railroad that #40 was built for in 1925. #40 is a 2-8-0 "Consolidation" type locomotive built for general freight service, and in this video we'll see ol' #40 at work pulling a vintage freight/passenger mixed train. Perhaps trains like this one were pulled by #40 back in the day on the Lancaster & Chester. We can't quite say for sure, but Lerro Productions is giving us the opportunity to travel back in time and experience a bit of history in today's modern world.
The unique view "Shovel-Cam" is brought to us by Peter Kuntz, the fireman for #40 during the morning session. He was kind enough to let us use the footage in our finished product and we are grateful for that.
