Hello my beautiful friends! I had a change of plans over the weekend and we did some work in the garage, that is what I am sharing with you today. It was actually a great decision to tackle this first because I was able to organize all of my moving boxes and categorize them into zones. I know where everything is now for my pantry project and more.
I hope you get motivation from this video to declutter or clean an area in your home. I know it's not always easy to get started but cleaning with a friend is always better! Clean with me! I am here for you.

About Me: Hello! My name is Erika, I am a wife and SAHM. I created my channel to keep busy while I learned to navigate life as a SAHM and to give myself accountability to get things done around my home. We recently moved from Arizona to Texas and downsized (2800 sq ft to 1200 sq ft). I've documented our downsizing journey from the beginning starting with decluttering and getting rid of over 50% of our belongings. I'm not an expert, I am just sharing our journey, along with my thoughts and struggles I encounter in the process. Now that we are in our new space I will be sharing with you how we get settled and organized into a much smaller home while maintaining a sense of minimalism. I would love to hear your story on your last home . When my husband and I downsized and moved we never felt like we lived in our last home , something never felt right and it did have negative energy . We met the realtor to turn the keys in and we both said , did we really live here and I said no we resided here !

Ohhh I felt every word you said in my bones! I feel exactly the same, it’s like I never lived there and I hope the negative energy stayed in the house. That’s another reason I tried to get rid of a lot of things from that house. I didn’t want to bring it with me. Honestly I feel peace in my small home. So glad you can understand me 💕

I don't think you can be over prepared for things like covid and safety/health looking after family. We don't wear face masks anymore. However, we were given some from a family member... Just incase. It's never a bad thing. You and your partner are such a fantastic team. We're still moving - a car and van load at a time. My partner will only do things when he wants and usually forgets. If I need things doing, I just get on with it myself. Love your channel. Moving house was/is more stressful than I ever imagined, even though we have a beautiful small little home. Thank you for sharing

I agree, it’s not bad to be prepared. Covid was definitely a huge learning experience. Moving is so stressful even when you think you are prepared. It takes a lot out of you. I’m sorry your partner isn’t as helpful as you would like. I do think it’s amazing when a woman can pick up and get things done, good for you 💪🏼 hope you get settled soon 💕

I will love watching which ever videos you put out! Our youngest is graduating from high school next year and plan to move out then, so I´m planning for us down sizing then and I want us to have as little as possible to move. It feels really good working toward a specific goal and has made me be much more brutal in my decluttering, which feels really deliberating.

You guys are so cute with helping each other. I loved the music when hubs was trying to get that big black thing up on top. I was so sorry it broke. I also just wanted to say that we lived in a home where a family member died by mysterious circumstances. Of course we never knew until after we moved in and the neighbors started telling us things. We never felt right living there and was so happy we moved out in 2011. So I understand about closing the door. You decide if it is too much to handle but I would love to see you share your feelings if you feel you can. It might help someone else going through a similar situation. I love your content any way you do it whether speaking while doing or in front of the camera. Your voice is very sweet and calming. Blessings on you for cooking for your grandfather. I did that for my grandma for several years. It meant so much to me that I could help her with her meals and I knew she appreciated it so much. I always tried to cook homemade healthy meals and just made extra for her and froze them for her to have at her convenience. Have a great week.

My husband and I are similar to you and your husband. We are both independent and rely only on each other. It’s hard for us to ask for help. We are always the helpers. We moved halfway across the country 5 years ago. And honestly we are happier because there is so much to do and the weather is amazing. After my grandparents passed on both sides, the extended family has not gotten together to celebrate holidays. Everyone stays where their core family is. But that is life and I’m thankful for all the memories. Thank you for sharing the video. I love the decluttering and organizing ones the most. Congrats on 5k!

Hello! Completely understand you. I was asking my husband “how has our family survived with out us the last 8 years” it’s been nonstop since we got back in July. I loved our solitude in Arizona, it was peaceful. It’s so sad that families grow apart. I only have my mom and I’m ok with that. At some point you just realize that that’s life like you said. Erica your a amazing women, love watching you guys working together. Getting up early is good as long as you go to bed early so you get your rest. If you want to share then you share if you dont want to share then dont, reliving living can hurt more in the long run. There is a spirit world out there. I finelly got to finish watching started yesterday just finished, husband in hospital surgery did not go well yesterday he is a little better today. Hello my sweet friend. Sorry it's taken me a few days to get back to you. I saved some comments for when I had more time to reply. My body has definitely been telling me it's time to go to bed early and I do listen to it for the most part. Some days I want to watch tv with my husband, we've been watching Ozark. I'm late to it, but it is very good. I'm sorry your husbands surgery didn't go well, I hope he is doing better by now. I know it can't be easy. My dad was very sick for many years and my mom took care of him, she was so tired. Make sure to take some time to yourself and get some rest whenever you are able. Sending hugs.

I also have anxiety and panic attacks due to the heat. A few years ago I was almost paralyzed in the middle of a heat wave and since then I link heat and not feeling well to each other in my mind. It goes well now but sometimes it's hard when temperatures rise.

@@SheWolfMom I live in Belgium 🇧🇪 but the summers here are rarely this hot, as I write this it is already cooler but the temperatures can go down and the next few days they will rise again it's typical Belgian weather, mostly raining and some thunderstorms due to the heat.. I will be so happy when it finally gets colder.

Thankyou for posting this video. It really hilighted the benefits of decluttering before trying to organise. I understand that this is a journey & it takes some longer than others to realise that without decluttering first, we are simply moving things around & wasting our time & energy. I would encourage you to focus more on decluttering & only keeping the things that you need as opposed to the “ what ifs “. This is certainly not intended as a criticism as I did the same things many years ago & it took me a long time to realise why I was constantly reorganising . I simply had too much stuff & I was setting myself an impossible task. I say “ simply “ ironically, as we all know it is not that simple after years of accumulating stuff. Personally I prefer the word simplifying as opposed to decluttering ( much less scary ). I need air to breathe aswel 🤔 like you it gives me anxiety !! I suggest you buy the neck fan it won't fall off and you will have air cooling your face all the time it is switched on and it's USB charged. I love your videos, Manchester England. 🌹🌹

It has been humid, and very very hot for England, it's been the hottest summer on record, but it's rains quite a bit aswel, there has been flash floods in the South of the UK, but if I don't get a good lungful of air it's just awful and I panic, it's just like claustrophobia 🙀😵😵😵 🌹🌹

Now you have me intrigued, I have to know the story of your last house. I’ve always felt certain homes seem to “want you”. Almost as if they have a life of their own. Maybe it’s the flow of the house and how you personally live. I’m curious, why didn’t you just carry the boxes into the rooms where they go? My husband served 28 years in the military and I always had boxes taken to the room they go into and placed in a corner. Those boxes sure get heavy after awhile. That’s a really good size garage. Just an idea, if you roll those packing blankets up like a burrito and zip tie them on each end they stack nicely or stand on end maybe in the loft. Take care ~ Janet 😘

It’s funny because I’ve said before that something drew us to that house. It must happen. Scary! I’ll talk more about that soon. I don’t take the boxes into the rooms because it would take up all of our space and we’d be living in boxes 🤣 I realized when we had all of our boxes stacked in our last house it really made me anxious. I didn’t like seeing them stacked all over the place. The garage is out of sight and makes me feel a little more at peace. I had no clue I’d feel that way about boxes, I learned a lot about my anxiety triggers w this move. Hope you’re enjoying the rain! Have a good day.

Would love to hear about the sale of the house. And what went on there. I’ve been looking for a gate to put across a doorway ( which is large). For now I have a huge styrofoam that came in a furniture piece I bought. Didn’t quite hear the name of the one you bought. Thanks again Blessings

Maybe at some point you can create an inexpensive suspended frame or platform just underneath that rack you wanted to put those large screens. Then he could slide them in and out easily from front facing instead of the side. If that makes any sense.

That’s a great idea but there was stuff up there already so he only had the wall space. The ceiling was slanted and that’s why he couldn’t get it in. I was trying to tell him but from his angle he couldn’t see what I could. He’s actually going to dismantle the screens because he’s working on using a projector instead which would be great because it takes up less space.
