Okay, I just watched a lip balm review video by Kackie Reviews Beauty titled “I tested 45 lip balms so you don’t have to (with spreadsheet). At time stamp 13:29 she discusses the Rabanne Lovebalm Hydrating Lipbalm in the color Soul Kiss. I think this balm in this color or one of the others in the range is the hydrating unsaturated tinted balm of your dreams.

If it is "Hydrating" actually makes more sense for it to penetrate the skin barrier and actually help your lips. If it stays on top it really isn't doing much so it's just an occlusive like Vaseline. It doesn't hydrate as much as it leaves a film on top. I have sensory issues so i love things that melt in because otherwise i feel like I am covered on goop. It's very fun that people have such different priorities, like with the mascara.

I’m loving your increasingly minimalistic journey, and I’m totally here for the process! I know exactly what you mean about Lisa Eldridge and the Everything Orange! I ordered the same colors as you a while ago and thought “HLP would find this Fig color too pigmented and bordering orange…” it must be such a wild feeling for people you’ve never met to feel like they know you like that! I’ve surprisingly loved my Lisa Eldridge balms! I’ve been trying to reduce how much lip balm I use and these, I feel, are truly nourishing my lips. I find myself reaching for my lip product less to stave off dryness but reapply color.

I think Metropolis looks fantastic on you with no eye makeup! It is quite noticeable on your lips, but it is desaturated and suits your complexion so well that I think it looks like an effortless statement lip look :)

So nice to see you again! Moving is such an ordeal. I wish you as little pain and frustration as is possible as you go through the process. Re Lisa Eldridge’s mascara: I absolutely adore it. It gives me long, full, but very natural-looking lashes and doesn’t flake at all. Also, I just wanted to give some praise to her amazing business practices. I had just mentioned in a response to a comment on a video of hers that I had loved her blush but found that the tube popped, so I didn’t get to use it up (and of course it’s ever been restocked, which makes me sad). I wasn’t even addressing Lisa directly. Someone from her team reached out to me, apologized, and asked to send me a gift card for the price of the blush. So I got the mascara for free! I thought that was pretty remarkable. Again, good luck with the long and arduous practice of unpacking. I hope you love your new home. 🤎🤎🤎

LANCOME HYPNÔSE DRAMA MASCARA is my ride or die. Don’t let the “drama” in the name fool you. It’s not clumpy at all and doesn’t flake or smudge. Easy to remove and you can definitely do multiple layers for drama or just one for more natural look.

Glad to see another balm in your ongoing quest! Both of those colors look good on you and honesty the darker shade absolutely would be perfect for you on one of your no makeup days!!!! Even if it is obviously makeup, it doesnt matter. Who cares?! Lipsticks, gloss, any color that isnt garish, can be the end all be all for what it does to bring life and intrigue to a look. Whenever I have moved, first things I got sorted were: the beds & access to clothes (even if not fully unpacked), the dishes/kitchenware (at least enough to cook & eat) & the bathrooms. Everything else got done as needed & was subject to change :)

No need to apologize for needing a little extra space to navigate your ship right now! Moving is a tough time. Anyone who ever had to move will totally understand. 😊 I adore the Kitten Lash mascara. It's incredibly versatile and can do light and wispy as well as spidery and dramatic. Never buying another kind of mascara. I think you'll like it more as you get to know it. As much as I wanted to love the Baume Embrace, they smell like old crayons and I can't get past it. Such a pity, because the colors are phenomenal.

I highly recommend the MAC Gigablast (gigablack???) mascara, its the blue tube! the perfect all day light weight mascara that easily washes off. Its been my go to for YEARS.

I have found that tinted lip balms are more like a gloss in stick or bullet form. Sounds like what you want is a more occlusive, full bodied, barely there tinted product. Some of the tinted lip masks might fill the bill but unfortunately they usually come in a pot & not a bullet which isn't always convenient for daytime application. Good luck on your search, it's interesting to see what's out there & compare :)

Kiss Me Heroine Make long curl mascara! If I curl my lashes and do a very thin layer, it holds the curl and looks super natural because it has zero clump anywhere unless you intentionally build it up.

I know what you mean about the "melting" texture, and I think it's why I actually prefer the Gloss Embrace formula to the Baume Embrace. I find the Gloss Embrace has a longer-lasting moisturizing capacity. It passes what I call the Nice Cup of Tea test--it's still there after a nice cup of tea! That said, I bought the Baume Embrace in Sweet Fig and Red Curve (a gorgeous red for me, but I like orange reds) and love the portable packaging, the scent, and the carefully-designed tones. I did think of you when I opened Sweet Fig! So excited to see you try the Emily shadow, because I've been curious about it. Anais is my current fave, but I've struggled with the pigment level of the only other Liquid Lurex I have, Anjelica. Paleness has its own set of challenges for sure. I love Eldridge's new Seamless Tint, and I hope the pale olive comes back in stock for you soon (T5 I think?). I'm a T2, and it is exactly the color of my skin, uncanny. Congratulations on a successful move!

Congrats on moving! I commend you for being able to post during all this. I have a possible tinted lip balm contender for you: Pixi +Hydra Lip Treat, which I found at Target. It seems to possess many of the qualities you are looking for. However I think the shade range may not appeal to you. It has a slight minty scent and at $8 I am tempted to purchase every shade! But I will not. (BTW I moved into a new house with the love of my life in March but just before the actual move was stuck in the hospital for a week recuperating from emergency surgery! So yeah, sh** happens in the midst of glory.)

so nice to see you and congratulations on the move! you say “just” this kind of video as though it isn’t a delight in and of itself. yes please to a review of the LE foundation when it’s back in stock. might you consider a video on pale olive/grey base make up? about face have some interesting looking pale neutrals/olives in their foundation range. Congrats on the move! Exciting but also v v exhausting... I ordered the LE lip balms on launch day, was so full of expectations but... I'm a bit underwhelmed tbh. They're good but not exceptional imo, the shine is gone in like, five minutes and if you want the colour you need to constantly reapply. And I mean, every fifteen minutes. At that price point I was honestly expecting more

Your current mascara preference sounds very similar to mine! I’m really enjoying Boots No7 Define and Enhance, I don’t wear very much makeup and it’s perfect for giving me wispy, lengthened and darkened lashes that don’t overwhelm my face! a good drugstore option if it’s available to you.

I love that you reviewed this! I bought metropolis the minute it came out because it looked absolutely like me, and it was! I'm a medium-deep olive skin tone for reference and on me it's a prefect nude plum-brown. I was so excited when I saw the video because I wanted your thoughts.
