Another cracking kit from ICM, not seen a bad one yet! Also helpful that they do a paint set to match - although not used them before. Chris

Be interesting to compare this to the Older Dragon Ju 88P. I can see already that the clear parts are much more transparent and the panel lines more defined. Thanks Peter for cracking the box on this one for us all

I do like the fact the decals are designed to allow people to make the historically correct version, whilst not upsetting to "sensitive". Why others don't do this is beyond me.

What a nice kit and clever marketing to release this just before the B26 like they are whetting our appetite the details are very clean and the Ju what a great subject, OMG the recoil must have been quite severe, goes to show ICM watch the market watch what their competitors are doing well done ICM and done Peter 10/10 for a great review 👍

I don't have an 88 in the stash currently and I do like aircraft sporting BIG guns! Watching closely. Cheers.

First rate review of an interesting subject. ICM are making model kits of aircraft in both 1/48 and 1/72 which are of obscure designs. Will the boffins at ICM produce a 1/48 and 1/72 German night fighter with the array of multiple canons pointing vertically from the fuselage? We can only hope so. ICM package their kits in very robust boxes which can withstand rough handling at the postal services. Peter you are correct in pointing out the excellent plastic moulding; apparent on all their kits. The plans are very well presented and the step by step procedures easily followed. One criticism is that a comparison chart of paint ranges of the main manufacturers could be added, as most modellers have a preference for a particular brand. Keep up the good work Peter. What’s next?

This with the Henschel HS-129 and Junkers Ju 87G Stuka, would look good on the shelf, and be handy in keeping the mosquitos and gnats at bay! I remember building the old Esci Henschel HS-129 back in the dark ages.... Excellent review and video Squire! 🍻

I'd love to see ICM tackle the Mossie, Jag, Bucc, Tornado in 1:48 And since they love niche models some of the RCAF, RCN planes and helos in 1:48

Yes a Mosquito mk xix with the big nose would look good..Never knew Airfix didn’t tackle a Mk xix mossy being a British classic..But ICM could do a great job at the Mosquito..🇬🇧👍

Nice review Peter. The ICM JU-88 series of kits are very nice and I'm sure this one is no different. I built the A-4 version a few years back in the markings of the Finnish Air Force which as you are probably aware had blue swastikas. Each of these (and there are 6) comprised five seperate decals! Definately need a canopy mask and photoetch looks good under all that glass. Hope you enjoy your Mosquito build.

Oooh, how about ICM doing a Tsetse Mosquito? I've converted a Tamiya 1/48 Mossie and I have the Revell 1/32in my stash and the requisite parts for the same conversion, but it would be nice to get one done properly. Just a thought.

I'm fairly sure that the circular hatch midway along the dorsal spine (which you thought was a cooling fan) was actually the gyrocompass, but I do stand to be corrected. Would love to see ICM have a crack at the Ju-388 in 1/72 or 1/48, the ultimate night-fighter and reconnaissance versions of the Ju-88 template. Keep up your marvelous presentations.

If it's a PaK 40 it's probably equal to the L/48 which was used on the Pz IVG forward and as well a number of tank destroyers. The PaK 40 was usually a towed antitank gun it would have been more adaptable to this configuration

You mentioned the mossy tse and the Henschel 129, but what about the the Mitsubishi Ki 109 a development of the Ki 67 Peggy bomber that was turned into a high altitude interceptor by mountinting a 75mm cannon in the nose. LS released a beautiful 1/72 model of the Ki 109 way back in the late 60's complete with optional transparent fuselage halves to allow the interior to be viewed.

You are correct that the Panzer IV and the Panther both used 75 mm guns but they were different with the Panther’s being much more powerful.
