I think the meth head enemies attempt to pull a gun after surrendering too often. You start to expect it after a certain point to where it just stops being surprising.

I totally agree. I’d hope they will change the mechanic to be more random for crack heads; not the frequency necessarily but in the methods they use. Why not have them drop the weapon and run then pull out another as they’re running or in cover. Anyhow there should be more variety for sure.

I would just like to clarify before I continue this comment that I'm not trained whatsoever in CQB, but everyone knows you want to fight from the threshold because it's safer and you have more concealment/cover, right? Wouldn't you want to do a center check/pie before you enter and the room and clear most of it out from the outside and all you'll have left is the hard corner to take care if you know what I'm saying?

Yes. Most rooms we clear are done this way. Only one side center checks, not both (or so that's how we try to do it). If we do a single stack dynamic clear (straight into the room without pieing much) it's usually only because there's an open door.

I have a question: How do you know when to shoot (from a lengthy distance) if they're a threat or not? Or if they have their backs turned and you can't see their hands?

If they have their back turned then you shouldn't engage as a SWAT Officer. However, it depends on whether or not they are facing a civilian and point their gun, or are an active shooter threat. In active shooter scenarios, officers will typically engage regardless. It depends on the context of why they are there and also whatever develops during the incident. Just my take on it. Ready or Not's design and coding (if that's what you want to call it), is made to sorta force the player to only use lethal force if it is absolutely necessary. They want you to use less-than-lethal means in order to "arrest" rather than shooting everyone.

If they do not pose a threat to you or anyone elses life, even with a gun in hand, shootin them is not according to "law" even in this game, you should try to disarm them first by getting them to comply, and doing it so that you don't get hurt your self. That is what makes RON / Swat challenging for sure.

Our group doesn't follow what the game "wants" us to adhere to. Read my comment above. There are many times where, suspects will point a firearm at myself or teammates and we will engage. In real life this is absolutely acceptable, however, in-game it might not be acceptable because of the way the AI are programmed. The game can't really tell the difference sometimes and that's why they've done so much work to lower the penalties of ROE. The game used to penalize you for shooting a suspect way too often previously. Who knows what they will be like on release.@@kala1780

@@OfficialInvictus Hopefully better! ;) Ps. Also what I meant in my earlier message is that if the perps are non-threatning with a weapon in their hand, of course if you see them pointing or starting to point at something it gets more dicey. Also probably quite difficult to code.

Is it a mod ? You can use light & Laser in the "same time" . Cause in the normal Game you have light or Laser Not Both 🤔

@@Patrick_Double_U did you extract the files and place them into your Paks folder? As for the Switch Illuminator mod, you press H, but I believe it only works on specific rifles.

It's an asset from the Unreal Engine marketplace that the Phasmophobia devs used. While Phasmophobia was made in Unity, the creators of the asset made it available for both engines.

Although this map is meant to portray realistic scenarios that could be used for real world application, I think mapping a real school would be very unethical and might get the devs in trouble. But then again, they did real maps in COD so idk 🤷🏽‍♂️ However, maybe implementing a hostage timer where the enemy AI walks around seeking hostages is something that could be implemented for active shooter scenarios.

i recognise this map from a game in a different genre.... phasmophobia, even has the same name too :), also how does one play custom maps like this in RoN, total noob to the modding thing here lol
