Itachi (Tsukuyomi) has always been a fan favourite character for players to choose and pick up in Storm Games, because of his popularity in the anime. He was always a reliable choice and had decent moves in his toolkit. Unfortunately in Storm Connections they have gotten rid of his tilt, which was a flock of crows that move towards your opponent. It was an amazing move that didn’t make it in the final build of Connections. He still deals a decent amount of damage in this game without it and his mobility is also great. It is significantly harder to compete with the other top tier characters as Itachi, but it isn’t impossible to do so if you master all of the tools in his arsenal.

Itachi has two primary jutsus in his arsenal. His first jutsu is the amaterasu that tracks down your opponent when you call it out. On hit it causes the opponent to be airborne. You can confirm off of this with a quick dash or with the right assists to make your opponent grounded again. I love to go with the second option most of the time, since it gives me a reason to use it during a combo. This jutsu can sometimes be pretty obnoxious too, because it stays in the field for a pretty long time.
His second jutsu is a fire ball jutsu. There is nothing too major about this jutsu, because it handles just like a normal fireball would. On hit it causes your opponent to be grounded. It deals a big chunk of damage though and can be used as a combo finisher or right after a grab for a cheeky confirm.
Overall, Itachi has been nerfed a little bit because of the removal of his tilt attack and the lack of range that he has on his normals and grab. He is still a pretty solid character with one of the best mobility in the game. Give him a try if you haven’t already!
